Your rooster has such great comedic timing! He had me laughing out loud in no time, and today I really needed that :D I completely agree with you on your list of requirements for summer tops, thank you for sharing your picks!
my favorite cut is sort of racer back, with shoulders bare but not skinny straps. I made Top of the Heat, an older pattern and it is my favorite to wear. I added a lace hem, but plan a plain rayon/viscose in red version for this year.
Oh my goodness I am so glad I found this channel!!! Someone with my similar size and I have been looking for summer tops since I live in a hot climate. So excited
Some really great suggestions there thanks Kaci! Yesterday (it’s Autumn here in Australia) I wore my favourite tee, the Kuutar Tee by Sari Nordlund I also have the Kuutar Top on my to do list. The Foxberry Tee is another favourite which I test knit for Sari. I also agree with positive ease for fuller figures, I usually have far less as too much is not flattering for me 😊 I’ve also recently added the Salty Air Tee by Samantha Guerin to my list. Being an older knitter I grew up reading knitting patterns with lengths only ever being an indication but I find newer (or younger) knitters seem to take lengths more literally. I always knit to lengths be it body or sleeve that fit me to my preference 🥰
First time in your channel and what a great video! Thank you. I learned about so many new yarns. It was also nice to heard about which elements of a design are more flattering to different body types. ❤❤
I think i could listen to you talk about collecting number 2 pencils.... the fact that you host a knitting channel is just the cherries on top thanks for all the fun videos, great insights, wonderful projects and eeeek podcast wow❤❤❤❤
Thank you for showing the pattern from Ozetta Knitwear! I looked at several other pattern from this designer and really like them. I enjoy your podcast very much. I’m from Mississippi and listening to you talk reminds me of home! I live in Florida now.
One that I test knit is the Warm Breeze cardigan. It is a laceweight cardigan with some really cool details on the sleeves. I also really love my Salty Air, Pine Creek Crop, and Stripey Turtle Tank. I am also making several sweaters that were designed with long sleeves as short sleeve summer tops. A great way to get more use out of patterns that you have purchased.
Great list, thank you! You listed some I hadn’t seen before. Thanks also for the yarn subs and suggestions. I think the hardest part for me is choosing yarn when it’s not the sample yarn listed.
Love some of these ideas…now I have to rethink my summer knitting. 😀 I have started the THROUGH THE LEAVES tee and the Velen tee from Ravelry this week. Hmmm, so much to ponder now.
Great selection. Loved that there was a long sleeve option and that you gave us a list of summer yarns in different weights and price ranges. Enjoyed hearing the rooster 🐓
Hearing you try to pronounce the French names is so cute! They really are hard to know how to pronounce. Loved the patterns mentioned, especially the Montpellier top!
Hello!! I’m a fellow Arkansan also!! I am fairly new to my knitting journey and enjoying your channel!! Thank you for sharing and giving me inspiration for that maybe someday piece I might be able to learn how to do😂!!
Thanks so much for all the designs you reviewed as well as the yarn/fibre suggestions. Very helpful and a lot of work! Much appreciated. Happy Knitting!! Roxanne.
Thank you for all theses beautifull ideas of summer tops and yarns. I am planning to knit the top Telesto by Audrey Borrego. I think you may like it. Kiss from France. 😊
I love the Ellie summer top by rustknitwear. And I love Holstgarn Coast , the 55% merino 45% cotton light fingering yarn for summer knitting. Thanks for a lovely podcast ❤
Excellent selections and great info. I’m with you on what I look for except I have to make tops shorter since I’m 5’2” and have a short torso. Appreciate the thought and time you put into this.
Absolutely loved this video! Not only did you give a great suggestion of patterns, but great yarn options too! I'm all in on summer knitting right now, particularly all of Sari Nordland's summer knits. I am currently working on the Rosenlund Top in a cotton/linen blend DK yarn and plan to cast-on one of her newest patterns, the Kaarina tee, in knitting for olive pure silk next! Cannot wait to knit more summer tops this year and check out some of your yarn suggestions!
I have a summer top knit in Line and love it! I live in an extremely hot and humid climate and have no problem wearing this. A good substitute for this is Drops Belle yarn. Have a top knit in that, too. I have to finish my kumulus top in pure silk, one sleeve left. I'm sure I will love that one too.
I live in a subtropical rainforest climate in Australia and I have knit 2 tops in wool and never wear them. Linen, cotton and silk are heaps more wearable. I have knit the ranunculus in that bc garn silk you talked about and it is perfect, so light you almost feel like you have nothing on!
OOooo yes yes as suspected, several new knits going in the Queue! I knew what was I was getting into before watching. HAHA. That rooster slays me. Have you seen Motyle by Hanna Maciejewska. The details are so pretty, and I've got the Salty Air Tee by Samantha Guerin calling to me.. Happy Spring and Summer knitting! Thanks for curating such a great list.
I always need to adjust my bust numbers so I love that you picked options with some structure and design. 😀I love the petal party crop but I would make it longer. Thank you!!
Excellent list, thank you! I am currently knitting a Tip Top Tank Fine by Emily Balduan for Maker Maker. This is in fingering weight but there is also a sport weight version. It’s a really lovely simple pattern and I like that it has a deep V-neck front and back but the straps are large enough to cover your bra. You can do simple straps or a cute bow tie version and the pattern gives the option to knit either flat or in-the-round. And both patterns are free!
Thank you for your video; you make me add many new patterns on my wishlist!! I really like the Green-Tee pattern by Lone Kjeldsen. The tee goes to 3XL and she has other great designs for summer tops!
Hiya, this is the second video of yours that I've come across... and they're just great! First of all, I'm Australian, so I just love your Southern accent 😍, second, you're so relatable... I'm not a 'skinny-mini' either! And I'm 5'10", so thanks for touching on doing the maths to adjust your fit... when I was young we were made to feel like we should fit the garment, not the other way around... one day I hope to be able to knit more than dishcloths! 😂
I am a new subscriber and I'm really enjoying your channel! You have a way of describing the features of different patterns that helps me to see the beauty in them that I otherwise would have missed. It's really helpful when you suggest what kind of garments could be paired with them, and where/how you could wear them. Love your color suggestions too! And when your rooster started up I was like... wth is that a rooster? Then I remembered you're a homesteading family lol and I was like oh ok yeah that makes sense. Please do more of these roundup videos, they're so enjoyable!
So many beautiful and new to me patterns on this list, thanks so much for assembling all these suggestions and including yarn options as well! I love the look of the Quince + Co yarns you talked about. The Ingrid Top or Ingrid Summer Lite sweater are also on my list of projects to put on my needles in the upcoming months.
I just found your channel through this video and I just wanted to say, I just love your vibe. Also, great recommendations -- I might have to knit up the Ingrid top!!
Love your list of patterns! Especially the Suri shirt 😍 And Quince&Co yarns are absolutely gorgeous but I've never tried the summer ones - definitely on the to-do list!
So many great patterns!! I’m knitting the Kuutar tee at the moment in linen-definitely tougher on the hands than wool/I might try the wooden needle suggestion 😊
Hello! I live in Norway and can tell you that you pronounce Tynn Line just fine😊 You might like tops created by Petiteknit. I am currently kniting her top called June in Mandarin Naturell from Sandnes garn.
Lived your video. I'm planning on making The Cummulus Tee by Petite Knit in Sandnes Garn Tynn Line. I made one last year in Knitting For Olive Pure Silk, and I love it. I also like the Ozetta Tee pattern you chose.Might have to make one if those too 😅
I’m 5’11 and wear a size 5. I rarely, if ever, find patterns that aren’t size inclusive. The beauty of knitting is that we get to make the pattern however we would like. Length is easy, sleeve length or style is easy, necklines require more thought, but once you find necklines that you like it’s not a problem to make anything you like. Summer tops are generally simple patterns and the easiest to modify. To be good at sewing, knitting and crocheting requires the ability to make adjustments. No matter how many sizes there are, there are always modifications that will customize it in a way that makes it perfect for us. I love that!!!
Might you ask our European Podcast hosts for help pronouncing the names of those wonderful designers? I’m sure that you are crazy busy, but smaller designers could use that recognition and respect. My maiden name was Polish and I held my breath every time someone would say my last name. They would stumble, giggle and apologize, but deep inside I felt embarrassed by my name that no one could pronounce. When someone could pronounce it correctly, or asked for the correct pronunciation, I would feel so relieved. Again, I know that you are very busy with your family, and may not have the time or bandwidth for this extra task💗💗
Hello from 🇨🇦. Thank you for addressing the concerns of larger busted people. This video is very helpful. Love your rooster sidekick. 🐓 Does he have a name?
I love your channel for many reasons, but one big reason is that you have very similar looking body that i have. I can always count on things looking good on me if you made/recommended it. Thank you!😊
Thank you for talking about bustyness (Is that a word?). As a person in a medium sized body with a an xl bust, i find that positive easy is not straightforward. More bust, less positive ease works well, otherwise we just look like barrels of wine 😂
Hi Kaci…You mentioned you have an A.F.B. Nearby. It wouldn’t be Blytheville would it? My family lived there from 1971-1974. I really enjoy your podcasts, and your Spring knits suggestions are really nice. I especially liked the red sleeveless shirt.
god this is excellent, i definitely can't add another project until next summer but still. I'm a size small to medium for bottoms and usually an XL or XXL top and lord is it frustrating to find patterns that work for my specific chest situation
Great list! Several of these were on my list as well. But first i'm going to make the new Corran cardigan by Rebecca Clow of the creabea channel. It's an all-over lace pattern cardigan with two sleeve options and two neckline options. I'm going to make the short sleeve v-neck for wearing over dresses and sleeveless tops.
Fun, fun, fun! I am currently knitting on the Sommerknus tee, I think you would love it!! It’s got 5 different textures though the whole top. I’m using Zooey linen cotton and it is KILLLING my hands, however living in the South it’s what you do if you want a summer top, lol. Question, I had read the Quince & Co Willet is easier on the hands, what has been your experience (& I looove that Penny color❤)
Finally someone showing patterns with some structure and different fit! ❤ All summer tee picks were almost exactly the same!
Your videos are sooo helpful! I’ve been in a knitting slump, not knowing what to knit. This was inspiring. I love the yarn suggestions too.
I'm so glad! I hope you found some patterns to add to your list
Your rooster has such great comedic timing! He had me laughing out loud in no time, and today I really needed that :D I completely agree with you on your list of requirements for summer tops, thank you for sharing your picks!
That rooster is my nemesis 😂
LOVE your review of summer tops that should work for us full busted gals - thanks so much!
You're so welcome! Thanks for watching
my favorite cut is sort of racer back, with shoulders bare but not skinny straps. I made Top of the Heat, an older pattern and it is my favorite to wear. I added a lace hem, but plan a plain rayon/viscose in red version for this year.
I’ll look that one up ❤❤❤
Oh my goodness I am so glad I found this channel!!! Someone with my similar size and I have been looking for summer tops since I live in a hot climate. So excited
I'm here a year late, but I adored all of these patterns! I love your sense of style, you have great taste!
Thank you so much! I have a new spring video coming out April 4th haha!
@@YoungfolkKnits I can't wait! 🥰
As a bigger girl myself who also struggles to find summer patters, I really really appreciate this video!! Thank you so so much!!!

First time in your channel and what a great video! Thank you. I learned about so many new yarns. It was also nice to heard about which elements of a design are more flattering to different body types. ❤❤
I really appreciate your insights on positive ease for folks with larger busts! Great video as always.
Thank you!
Love your podcast and love your rooster.
That roosters drives me nuts
Our summer top goals are the same
Just what we need. A longer queue
This was exactly what I needed when I was searching for summer patterns and yarns. Hot weather is around the corner.
A couple of patterns I hadn't seen and really like, so thank you for that.
Love your videos as you always have a very good realistic perspective of the garment.
I just found this channel and I love it. Out of these patterns I liked the eyelet and the last shirt the best.

I totally agree!

Very nice . I aways enjoy listening to your wonderful accent ❤ . Great tips as always.
Hearing you try to pronounce the French names is so cute! They really are hard to know how to pronounce. Loved the patterns mentioned, especially the Montpellier top!
Many winter patterns can be modified to shorter sleeves and different fibers.
Very true!
Great list of Summer tops!! I saw a couple that I do want to check out!❤
TU enjoyed ur podcast so much. Loved the Tees

Great ideas. I love the Summer Tee by Tanis knits
I will look that up!
Absolutely agree with you re positive ease; great advice
I love that Caidre top. Also being a fluffy girl also, I totally feel ya on having to add length to sleeves and body.
Yes!!
Thank you for all theses beautifull ideas of summer tops and yarns. I am planning to knit the top Telesto by Audrey Borrego. I think you may like it. Kiss from France. 😊
I’m currently working on the Purl Soho Cable tee - with the one big cable up the back. It’s a nice quick knit as well! Thanks for these suggestions!
Great insights! Love your hair, looks so summery 😊
Great choices!
Hi from Sweden here! So nice to see another plusgirlie reviewing summer tops😍👏👏

That’s a beautiful pattern!
The Botanical Tee by Knitatude is lovely! I tested it and loved it so much I immediately knitted a second one!
hey, Kaci!! I knitted that tied tank from PomPom mag for my daughter kathryn - can I find a photo? NO!!! but it was a lovely yarn, agreed!
"Arie" (designer Julie Hoover) featured by Purl Soho is a beautiful summer tee. One yarn option is Linen Quill.
