I was crying within the first 2 minutes. The whole show was so important to me when I started binge watching it around 2013. To this day, whenever I'm really having a rough time, I put on "once more with feeling" or "hush" or another one of my favorite episodes and it makes that day just a little bit less crappy. Buffy the vampire slayer is still my favorite tv show of all time and I will always have a special place in my heart for Tara, she was too good and too pure for that show. I don't think I'll ever fully be over her death. I'm so glad Amber Benson did this panel, it makes me so happy that people are still talking about this show and about this character 20 years later. Also, on a happier note: "she could have stubbed her toe really hard" 😂. Or can we talk about Amber saying Tara was the top while Dana is like "stop it we can't talk about that" and Amber joint points at herself 😂. This panel was so great.
This panel represents the true soul of Clexacon: unconditional love, respect, joy, excitement, long-term fandoms, mutual support and creativity spiralling around fans and guests equally and lifting everyone up. Future cons need to focus on and reflect our unique "family" characteristics and address concerns to make "our" con better and better each year.
This is really amazing. My favorite Panel of this year. Amber is really smart, funny, articulate and she really gets it (BYG trope). You can also sense Dana was so happy and excited. One hour well spent. I hope more lgbt fans watch this panel. It's really good.
I’m so torn on the idea of Amber coming back in Conversation with dead people I mean, i would be over the moon if we got to see Tara again, but shit, that scene when Willow thought she was talking to Tara was so powerful and hurtful, I don’t think I could’ve handled that, if that was actually Tara’s visual with her, telling Willow to kill herself
Yes, it'd been horrifying for sure. Plus, I heard they were also gonna have a storyline where Buffy would be allowed to make a life-altering wish and at the end of the episode, she'd use it to bring Tara back, but Amber Benson was unavailable so that didn't come to fruition, unfortunately.
I’m not singing you’re singing!!! Always loved you amber you healed my soul during my teenage years coming out as a young gay man! Xxx amber benson always under your spell! Xxx
Sad to say I never seen Buffy although I want to, just not much time. But this girl had me teary when everyone raised their hands and she brought up everyone sharing their stories.
I started rewatching Buffy this year and stopped right before Taras death. Its been 2 months and I still haven't worked up the courage to finish the show.
Beautiful and insightful as always. I am still to this day heartbroken over what happened and I have never forgiven Joss for what was, to be kind to him, a monumental display of short sighted writing at best and a shocking betrayal of a section of his fan base for cheap sensationalism at worst. It looks to me that Amber, whilst always tactful, gave the clearest indication of her upset over the story decision and that she felt it could have, indeed should have, gone another way. If I had been there there are 2 questions I would have asked, as supplementals to ones already asked in the Q&A: 1) How did she feel about this whole "Buffy gets a wish and wishes Tara back" line that Joss was selling and that according to him, she had turned down? My personal opinion is that she did not know about it as I doubt very much she would have turned that down. 2) She was asked about other lesbian characters she had played but I would want to ask her about the one she didn't mention, which is the lead in forthcoming horror film Nightmare Gallery. But an excellent Q&A with a lovely and talented and just genuinely decent lady.
This made my day. The whole thing was wonderful, but the end note is the kind of determined positivity that I'm fighting to embody every day. So much love.
This is so perfect! Love the way this is such an open conversation. On other interviews you can tell the tiptoeing around it, but this is just so real. Hope to see Amber again in Clexacon... Maybe with Alyson???
I watched The 100, with a friend who didnt watch buffy. And when Lexa got shot, i went into flashback mode and political, gay mode. She was just sad. I dont get it.
If Tara had to die for the storyline, I wish it could have been heroic in some way, such as protecting her new family.
God I was in the room for this and let me tell you, over a year later, it still gives me all the same chills that this panel did the first time.
that introduction was the highlight of my day
we will never forget Tara
Amber is such a dream. So articulate and kind.

I gotta say that I love Amber recognizing how amazing Dana is.

She really seems invested in telling other stories! I love her! 💜

Absolutely!
I heard Amber was unavailable for filming at the time, rather than having turned it down. No idea what actually happened, but that's what I heard.

What an amazing panel! Thank you so much to all the volunteers for helping make ClexaCon the wonderful place it is
I am sobbing. Thank you, I love Amber and of course her character and BtVS changed me for good.
Oh God definitely my favorite panel of the con!!!
Somehow I ended up here again watching this for the 5th time.....
I know same here ....
I’m so thankful she interacts with us like this.
Dana Piccoli is STUNNING! She has a perfect figure! (To my own tastes.)
She’s so funny and lovely I wanted her to have her own show
The melter and the meltee OH MY GOD I LOVE HER
I love her energy she seems so down to earth I was so upset when they killed her character off the show Tara for life !!! ❤️❤️❤️
God, she is still so beautiful. And it’s funny that her voice is so strong, rather than her wispy voice on BTVS. “The melter and the melter”. HA!
Of course our fairy godmother is the one on the Tara panel. Like why Dana even had to ask?
Dana is a gift
really? nobody asked her about kennedy?? 😂 ugh I love Amberrr💓
Who is going to think of Kennedy when they have Tara right there lmao!? But seriously that would be an interesting question...
OMG ! I was literally waiting for this moment ! 😂
The world doesn't deserve Amber Benson
Omg I love her so much more. This personality is so wonderful
Even a bigger fan !
I watched The 100, with a friend who didnt watch buffy. And when Lexa got shot, i went into flashback mode and political, gay mode. She was just sad. I dont get it.
Kinda disappointed when they sang Lmaoo Buffy was my show I would have SANG!!!! But Dana was such a great moderator
i think it is just way too high pitch to sing along to 😂
I just realized that Amber's reason for not going back are kinda like the ones Alicya had with Lexs
Omg I love her 😭😭😭
53:31 is this person ElleOfTheMills or im tripping??
I’m so depressed idk I feel like at this point in my life I need an unsung hero like Tara to help me

her laugh is SPLENDID !

Its funny because back in the day Tara didnt get much love from a lot of fans til she was killed off...suddenly she hit saint status.
idk, as soon as she appeared in screen, i loved her
I met her at a con..wish I would have picked her brain a little more.I'm obsessed with serial killers too, would love to show her my library
