hey man!! you got a great trade for sure. I personally don't think a 1/8 scale Arrma Outkast should cost over 350 bucks, new, It's just another common 1/8 truggy. the X-maxx is at least unique in that it's got almost no competition for this scale and power. Great trade!!!
Thanks brother! After watching a couple friends run this truck I had to get one. Then this opportunity came up and was a no brainer. Going to be fun to use for sure. Thanks for checking it out!
Nice trade brother! Very clean looking! It’s a fun one to have in the stable, I won’t part with mine. Most look small next to the mtxl! Do yourself one favor (a very simple mod), add washers to reinforce the body screw holes so you don’t pull the screws through the body with the inevitable wrecks! If you have trouble finding the right ones let me know and I’ll print ya off a handful with ABS or nylon.
Sup brother! Ya man I've seen these run and was impressed. I figured while out with the heavy gassers, fire a couple packs in this and beat the snot out of it. Thanks for the body heads up. I see exactly where you mean and can remedy that with some nylon washers. Gonna try silicone caulking over fiberglass mesh tape for reinforcement. Usually use shoo goo but want to see if the caulking will work
Steel City RC Doesn’t sound like a bad idea. I read the other comment about the Proline Badlands and beadlocks. From what I’ve heard, they’re a little on the heavy side and can be rough on the drivetrain.... don’t know this first hand but sounds possible to me. Just food for thought
@@rcOhio I use those wheels and tires as my go to on that Rampage MT gasser I have. They would be heavy for this truck. Nothing wrong with stock tires IMO
Steel City RC I haven’t had any trouble with my stock tires on the Xmaxx or the Erevo 2.0. They’ve both seen a fair bit of abuse both on and off road. I had a small sidewall tear on the revo near the wheel from too much abuse on the asphalt.... just closed it up with some CA , good as new. I think the problem most people have is water in the tire coupled with centrifugal force, that’s a shit ton of extra force on the tire. I pretty much stay out of the wet whenever possible
@@rcOhio ya I hate even washing my tires. That is usually the only thing dirty on my rigs lol. As for driving through water, why? Right? Man I choked out my Rampage MT once hitting a deep hole accidentally. I thought I screwed the engine. All was good with a new filter
Thanks Man! I did love that Outcast at one point. I gave it many upgrades. I finally got a chance to bash this truck yesterday for the first time 8s. Man it is the best Traxxas made hands down. I hope to get some running video tomorrow of it. Appreciate you checking it out man!
Right! Oddly I traded this Xmaxx for a Losi 5iveT 5th scale. Less than a month later I bought a brand new Xmaxx. I missed it that much. Has to be the most versatile rig I have. Appreciate you stopping by 👊 🤘
I support your decision a 1000 times. I started out with a Rampage MT almost 2 years ago and used your channel a lot for inspiration (mods and what not) then my 5 years old wanted to join the party and I grabbed an XMaxx for its durability and simplicity of use (you also can control the power level via the Bluetooth link which is an amazing tool for a kid to learn control and driving techniques). This machine is a blast, I did a few mods to make it almost unbreakable and we have tons of fun together. I doubt you will regret one bit! Enjoy and I look forward to hear your opinion of it once you start playing with it.
Hey what's up! Started with a Rampage MT huh, me too. Was my first and favorite lol. Man this xmaxx is pretty sweet truck. I always said I'm not much of an electric guy and here I am getting another one. Can't wait to get it out, of course its raining here today. But it's so awesome you and you son bash together! I love it man. Cuddos to Dad there man. Love seeing kids with RC especially this day and age with kids staying indoors so much. I will say I really appreciate you support watching my channel here! You really made me feel good with the kind words you said BTW! Awesome and again thanks wor watching RC brother!!!
Steel City RC glad to hear you appreciated the comment :-) I am not much of a commentator on RUclips so always a bit nervous to post something. But I really meant it, your Rampage videos were an inspiration (by the way my rampage looks very similar to yours as I have the exact same mods (kill switch, servos, pipe, pull start) but the Badlands. Agree with you on the kids thing, I tried to get my kids out as much as possible, riding a bicycle while I run, go karting, rc’ing, soccer and so on. Glad to hear you share the same opinion :-). I am in DC and it is overcast with a bit of rain but I just received an E-Revo 2.0 this week and can’t wait to take it out (living in an urban area, it is hard to find places where the Rampage does not bother people so I grabbed a 2.0 so we can drive together now that he got the hang of things...and having #2 being 2 years old, soon enough he will join the party as well :-) I hope you manage to take your Xmaxx out today and I will be on the lookout for the first impression video :-) Take Care!

Right on! Gotta get while the gittins good! My Outcast just sat there all the time. This guy wanted it bad and didn't use the Xmaxx so it was golden for both of us. He loved it! To be honest after this emaxx I have I was reluctant getting another Traxxas. Oh and Arrma's Xmaxx killer.. Been holding my breath way too long lmao. Thanks for checking it out RC brother!!!
Thanks brother! It is staying stock. I've seen yours and my friend Brian's stock form and they performed as I want it to. So it will be good as is to me. Maybe get some mod 1.5 gearing for it and be done
Hey buddy! Awesome find. I have done a few mods to mine to keep it strong. I gorilla taped the entire inside of my body and I put small washers under the mounting hardware. It’ll keep the body from pulling the screws out the first time it turns over and keep it from cracking apart. Only other things are diff fluid and steering servo. Hell Ya! It's in great shape. The Outcast he got was in mint condition too though. Both parties very happy with the trade. Appreciate you checking it out!!
Very clean for an xmaxx, good trade. I think you’ll really like it. Recommend max6 for an esc upgrade, makes a world of a difference and run with a 50T spur instead of 54T.
Cool deal. Yep 50T spur, I keep stock pinion but a buddy of mine runs 20T pinion instead of 18T with a 50T Spur and it has been good with no problems for a year. So 20/50 is probably as far as I’d push it staying safe for bashing.
Nice deal man! I like mine, takes a lot of punishment... plus you can run it in the rain👍 How,s your MTXL ? I did the belt conversion on my RedCat MT as well put In the Rovan 45 . What a great RC. Lots of fun. Enjoy man and thanks for the cool Video.
What's up man. Finally Sunday looks decent for some RC. Gonna give it a go stock using 8S. The MTXL is good. Broke a rear dogbone pin and for some reason the pinion to spur mesh felt tight. Now I roll it and it's like butter. Maybe the gears are swelling a bit causing the mesh to get tight?!? I'm gonna try to back it off some, but the adjustment slots are maxxed out as is. I may have to dremel just a hair off. Dude your MT!! A 45 with a belt drive! I gotta see this!!
Odd eh ? A lot of guys seam to have issues with that on the MTXL.. you will figure it out👍... Lol yes I try get a vid up.. of the MT as you can I am not god at it😂. So far it rocks out .. but traction’s a issue.. I am running the Proline tires that you had on your MTXL.
I don't think I will need the 2028 in this truck. I'm no speed run guy, you know that. I am trying to keep it as close to stock as possible. Mainly for weight. I may put a max5 esc in it and that's it. I'm gonna beat the living shit out of this truck as its intended for lol.
@@rccustom6726 right. I think it's fine as is. It lays itself on it's back at will 8s. But I bet you are right the upgrade itch will need scratched in the near future

Dude how bout that!! It just appeared seriously. My friend was telling me about a friend he has. Well he didn't like the scale and cost of this scale. He has every other Arrma out in the 6S line, so he was super excited to get the Outcast as I was this Xmaxx. It seems like a nice truck! As always bro, I wish you the best Man! Things will turn around for you and your family after that horrible fire! Hit me up RC brother!!
I thought so too. We both walked away after a good handshake with smiles on our faces. That was/is one beefed up Outcast he has now. It was upgraded with all sorts of parts and it was the final model in the Arrma 6s lineup that he needed. Can't wait to rip the Xmaxx around Man. Thanks for checking it out brother!!

Thanks Man! Ya I'm like you buddy, check out my Losi MTXL. I can't leave anything alone. But this one, I am going to try to keep the weight down. I think the lightness of it's sheer size is amazing. It is almost as big as the Redcat Rampage MT I have, yet the MT weighs 34 pounds I think I weighed it at. Stock xmaxx is what 25-27 pounds? Basically the same size 10 pounds lighter. So IMO more fun being light and that size. Had obligations today or I would have had some running video of the Xmaxx. I'm dying to try it out 8s. Thanks for watching!!
