This is the first song of a two (for now) album rock opera. Not only is the music great, they spin a pretty compelling narrative across the two albums.
As a classically trained singer, let me reassure you that you’re not as far off base with “operatic” as some here are accusing you of being. Britney is classically trained, and opera is classical music. The style is characterized by well-supported breath control, clear diction and clear tone with varying levels of vibrato. In general, opera singers are on the more powerful end of the spectrum (they had to be in order to be heard clearly in large theaters) and a more powerful delivery naturally produces more vibrato. UTAs use of story and narrative in their music is also a nod to opera. You’re spot on with your analysis. Enjoyed your reaction and commentary!
Enjoyed your reaction. I wouldn't call Brittney's vocals operatic, although she sang in a world famous chamber choir in college and did perform Brindisi from La Traviata as part of a power metal opera battle with the lead singer of the Lords of the Trident, ruclips.net/video/Txb0GV9PGl4/видео.htmlsi=v_2vHu-OBMY1wSrx. To me she sounds like the female version of some old school power metal band singers like Bruce Dickenson of Iron Maiden or Geoff Tate of Queensryche. If you want to dive deeper into the backstory of the songs off Apex and Abyss, Brittney has videos on Napalm Records YT channel where she goes through and explains the story for each song. If you want to continue with more Unleash the Arxhers then I would recommend their best song The Wind that Shapes the Land. No music video and I haven't found a live version that sounds anything like when I heard them live but worth a listen.
Suggestion: Check out the track Ghosts in the Mist. Brittney has a much more raw and grittier sound, especially since having her first child a year ago this past October.
I've been loving my journey with unleash the archers. They've got two albums, apex and abyss which are 2 parts to the same story or concept. Loved the reaction man!
Great reaction! They mixed some metal styles, made their own sounding, one of my favourite bands ever. All of the band members are really talented, as you can see. This is the beginning of their album Apex, that and their next album (Abyss) have a great fantasy story, they use the the harsh vocals for the evil character, the music and the lyrics are harmonized, etc, absolutely amazing, they have a lot of great songs.
IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die
Although I actually have not ever listened to opera, I do believe there is an essence of opera in her higher vocal rises. But there’s nothing wrong with you disagreeing with that my friend! 🤘🏻🖤
This is genuinely the first time i have ever heard Britneys vocals referred to as 'operatic' she is a classic powermetal vocalist, i dont hear any classical influences really. But to each their own

...And lo, did they name her Brittany Slayes, for that is what she does...
They used to do melo death you should check out their first two albums. My favorite song of theirs is The Outlander.

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
AWAKENING
To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed
To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same
This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace
A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way
Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end
Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name
It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream
I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse
My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
Come to me, awakening
Follow my voice, come to me
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never
Lighting my way in the night
To roam; to never die
Welcome to UTA. Black Goat of the Woods next

Never heard metalcore riffage as a term. Metalcore is a punk derivative, so I never think of it as having good riffs.
Haha I’d say Metalcore is the best genre when it comes to riffs my friend!
Can’t go wrong with a classic 578 riff 🤘🏻🖤
You need to check/react on "AVRALIZE - LOTUS", they are new to the game and only have 5 songs yet. Arising Empire Band
why does no one here the Dio influence?
🤷🏻♂️😅
Your commentary makes me think you have never actually heard opera, because there is absolutely nothing operatic about the vocals.
Although I actually have not ever listened to opera, I do believe there is an essence of opera in her higher vocal rises.

@@SFutureReacts Naw, you're right.

Her classical training is clear as day! lol
"metallica vibes"
please, consider close this channel and go fishing.
Haha I actually go fishing very often!
Can’t wait for the spring! 🤘🏻
So yeah, I’ll go fishing.
But I think I’ll keep this channel open bud 👍🏻🖤
The section he said that about sounded similar to some of their early songs, so, yes. Please, consider keeping your opinions to yourself.
where is tihis operatic
In her vibrato vocal rides 👍🏻🖤
