I’m (finally) reading the Tearling series since you reminded me I own it. Just finished book 2 today. Books 1&2 are both 4-star reads. Going to start the 3rd book tonight or tomorrow. 😊
@@BookswithEmilyFox I can’t believe he made the conscious decision to add that scene into the book 🫠. Among many many other bizarre things. So glad to be done with it lol
the reason you are one of my favorite booktubers is because you've always seemed sincere and fair with your content, opinions and personality throughout all these years =) Tnx for keeping it real in the book content creators community cause there's too much wishy washy BS nowadays around BookTube
I love how you are yourself in your videos, that not everything is perfect in your world all the time: sometimes happy, sometimes crappy. That's fine. Normal. It makes you real, genuine and friendlier. Love the beauty content, the cat content, the book content and yes, even the home cleaning content.🙂 Keep it up but don't overwork either. ❤
Emily, what keeps us here (apart from the adorable cat content) is you as a person, the books are secondary. You being so honest and open about your struggles is inspiring, fuck whoever thinks othewise
While I don't know if that helps at all. I discovered your channel during your "negative" period and never once I felt like you were negative and hated all of the books you read. It just felt more human and, honestly, refreshing to hear other opinions on books. Not everything has to be extremely optimistic, because for me it starts feeling like someone is trying to sell me a book instead if it's all great. I do trust your opinions and read some great books because of this channel.
Dont pay attetion to those comments, you are being transparent and sometimes it happens that we have shitty readings. If your health is not the best and you still find the energy to do something that makes you feel better, I give you props for that. Love your channel. Grettings from Argentina

Glad to see you being kind to yourself and transparent with how you are feeling. It’s essential to acknowledge it and I think we need to normalize not feeling ‘amazing’ all the time. Proud of you! You bring out the mum in me😂❤
You are the ONLY booktuber I've watched consistently since you started your channel. I dont always comment but i very much enjoy your videos and you are so authentic.❤
I've been dealing with some unexpected health issues this year and I've been even grumpier than usual; I can't even imagine years of not being taken seriously in terms of your health. It's totally normal to show how you're feeling. I'm here for whatever you want to share! (And for the cats, obviously)
One thing I’ve always appreciated about you (even back to the beauty channel days) is your authenticity! A lot of the “negativity” people seem to be complaining about is usually just honesty lol
Keep going, you’re doing an amazing job on this channel! You’re my go to for a strong female opinion that calls a duck a duck and an incomparable voice in the book review community. Thank you!
Omg I was diagnosed with autoimmune disease just this month. The fatigue has crushed my life. Changed it so damn much. My thoughts and understanding are with you.
I really appreciate you sharing your health issues, it’s made me feel much better this year. I’ve had severe neurological issues in the past few months that I’m only getting out of right now even though I’m fairly young and seeing that I’m not alone in this has been a huge relief 🫂 also you’re allowed to hate books!! don’t let them silence you queen!!
10 years ago I discovered your beauty channel and loved your videos with swatches. Last year I picked up reading after a really long pause and I was so excited to see that you also have a book channel. I truly trust your opinions and genuinely appreciate your work. You are very loved in this space😊
I love your channel for the love and all the obsession over books you love, and “no filter” honest feelings over the ones you don’t like. Just keep it as you wish, I’ll be here as I like your style 😍
The thing with the knife up high made me remember when anthropologist found a decahedron with protuberances and nobody knows its use until a female anthropologist said its a tool to make the fingers of the knited gloves and its use it nowadays.
Please don't feel bad about spending good money on something you like! I've really been working on this myself. I was really waffling about if I should splurge on a purse, but I'm so glad I spent the money. I could have gotten a cheaper one, but I am so happy every time I use it. You earn your own money, spend it in a way that makes you happy and makes your life easier.
Don’t listen to the haters! I’ve never noticed you being negative! I’ve been a long time watcher for several years and always look forward to your videos …and the kitties!!
The Chalice non-fiction is interesting! My husband is an historian and a archeologist specializing in tardive antiquity and he is now working on a paper on women in the etruscan, samnites and gallic people! He talks to me about the fact that some women were warriors and were burried with their armors and weapons and that people tended to believe for a long time that it was the weaponry of their husbands but no! It is fascinating. I am rn reading the "biography" of Artémise 1ere and she is so bad ass.
@skeletonkeybooks omg yes! Hahaha he is writing a thesis on the Samnites/Samnium. He is mesmerized by their linen legion and their technics of battle. He loves underdogs. ✨️ he is also really interested to the Sacred Band and
@@crimedelacreeme I would love to read that! I'm a Pontius and the last time I was in Italy I spent almost a week in Molise, visiting Samnite sites and the museum in Campobasso.

I'm with you on the rock bottom autumn. Thanks for the product tips. I have long hair, 4 cats and an old dog with cushings causing lots of potty accidents. We have three bot vacuums. 2 are wyze 1 is a cordey. Plus we use a Bissell crosswalk as a suction mop.
Cats + skincare + books + robot vacuums= an awesome video to watch! I love your content, whether you love a book or hate it it’s a genuine reaction and that’s what matters! Also, I’m glad that you are finally getting some health answers 🥰
Thank you so much for the moisturizer discussion! I'm autistic and have major sensory issues with anything sticky. But now I have found out that my body doesn't produce filaggrin, which is what helps skin retain moisture. So I'm trying to build a skincare routine, and moisturizers are hell for me. But yes, O'Keefe's is good. I've just bought a tube of their lotion to see how that goes.
I don't understand people. Anyone who would say "stop hoarding cats" would be a person who hates cats. The fact that you adopted that last baby just shows you are a good person. Ignore the haters, just live your life as you want to.
We have a shark vacuum, we probably had it 3 years and it's still going strong. However, we don't use it every single day. We have two cats and both of us have short hair. We ran it once every week or so and it's still going strong
Wow! 45 min video!! Chip is ball-less & flawless! 💅 i felt the same way about Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay- it wasnt getting good reviews, but I loved it, the audiobook was fantastic! Glad you are feeling better Emily!!
I have been hitting Rock Bottom Autumn so hard this year (and will now be saying this thanks to you haha), I've even been egregiously behind on youtube videos. Let me tell you how EXCITED I was to see you reading and enjoying The Paper Menagerie!!! especially after being that annpying person in the comments always being like "you should read this!!!1"
I actually don’t find you to be negative at all, and I’m being honest when I say that. You’ve acknowledged here and there that you’ve been dealing with health issues and having a hard time, but you’ve been matter-of-fact and honest about it and what’s wrong with that? I actually find your videos to be very uplifting because you’re funny and frankly, you’re infinitely more intelligent than some of the other booktubers out there. You also totally get how infuriating it is to read sexist portrayals of women and you actually talk about it which I appreciate. And you like cats! Seriously, never feel bad, guilty, or like you have to explain when all you’ve done is be yourself!!! ❤
Not to compare not feeling good with your diagnosis at all but I TRULY believe that your mood/feelings will determine your likeness of books (I mean obviously you won’t like something you just know you won’t like) but if I’m in a good mood I’m more likely to enjoy the book even with flaws and if I’m cranky or don’t feel good then the flaws jump out at me a lot more and my enjoyment is lower! That might just be me but don’t worry about the negative comments!! We all love you! ❤
It absolutely makes a difference! I don't think it will overall change too much but you might be a bit more lenient with some books if you're in a good mood. Tbh nobody's reviews are every "objective" so it's fine lol
If you want a really nice sapphic cozy fantasy I’d say check out The Phoenix keeper, especially the audiobook - the narrator really makes it feel like you’re listening to friends telling you their work drama. It’s this shy introvert zoo keeper that’s in charge of a rescue program for a dying breed of phoenixes and it’s a lot of the day to day running of the zoo and you get invested in the magical animals and there’s a small side action plot to tie it all together. The main character is a bit judge and not like other girls at first, but her arc is beautiful to watch! Plus, sapphic workplace rivals! The author is an actual scientist herself so you can tell it’s a passion project.
11:51 boys are very easy??? 😂😅 Ours had a hernia repair same day as snip and he was running full speed not an hour after we got him home. Trying to keep him still and in a cone… herding bulls through a china shop would have been less stressful!! The little gremlin did heal with no issues aside from a little pocket of fluid/swelling over went away on its own.
I have 2 cats and a dog and I actually bought a robot vacuum after watching one of your videos and I run it almost every day (one floor per day). I bought a dumb one also just to make sure I would like it and it is doing a great job. It doesn’t map but it does real well with covering the whole area (which is probably 500 sq feet per floor). Any way the brand is Shark and it was only 180 US dollars. Hope that helps and thanks for such fun videos
Your channel is the perfect escape! I love it! Don’t mind the negative comments.. who is perky 24/7 in real life? No one… we all have issues. I would much rather you be authentic ❤
You and I were both chosen by the cat distribution system at the same time 😅 seeing you as a single cat mom of 4 gives me hope that i can handle mine. My newest cat had fleas (new experience for me) and had to get neutered, and doesn't get along with my female cat because shes just such a mean girl 🥴
I was lucky with the fleas and the first treatment did the trick… the ear mites though, they don’t want to leave 😂 Hope your kitties start getting along soon
I truly never noticed you being more negative. I love your reviews because you’re so honest! I hope you get so much vacuum PR to review 😂 I also have long hair and to many cats
Honesty doesn’t equal negativity! I’ve been watching you since your shelves were empty, and I’ve never found you to be negative at all. I want honest reviews. If you hate the book, you hate the book. Tell me! I’m so sorry you’ve been feeling so bad, but I relate to you a lot because I’m also a child-free, book loving, crazy cat lady. Your subscriber count has grown like crazy, so obviously it’s not bothering too many people. Haters gonna hate.
We have the Eufy L60 vacuum with self empty station. Has the mapping and zones and rooms as well. It's going strong and frequently on sale. My credentials: 1 cat and I also have long hair
Not Rock Bottom Autumn 😭🤣🤣 I will be using that from now on lol. I was one of those people who didn't love How to Sell a Haunted House 😅 To be fair, I didn't hate it either. Lol. I ended up giving it 3 stars because there were some scares I really liked. But I think the family messiness didn't work for me. And I don't think puppet horror is for me either lol. But hey, that eyeball scene... Still living rent free in my mind 🤢😂
I think the cats in your area are telling the others cats to hit you up as you are an easy mark haha. Ignore the negative comments amd glad you are onbthe road to recovery ❤
My skin is so sensitive to most moisturizers but us Canadians need the moisture this time of year! My favorite all over my body lotion is Palmer's Coco Butter 24 hours Everyday moisturizer. Yes - the same company that makes the moisturizer for pregnancy stretch marks. But the regular moisturizer is amazing for my sensitive skin and you naturally smell like hot chocolate!!!
I actually just got my first bottle of it! I didn't realize it was so small so I didn't feel too bad buying it before finishing the other one first lol Have you tried the Eucerin Complete Repair one? It's more expensive so I rotate other ones in between but last winter it saved my legs!
On the negative comments subject, I’m sorry you’re seeing that on top of your health issues. Emily, you are an amazing person. Wish we could be besties in real life. Personally, I really enjoy your videos and I think you’re hilarious. I have read so many books because you’ve recommended them.
Where are your clear glasses from??Your kitties are so cute, love seeing (and hearing 😆) them!! Also, your hair looks so pretty in the clip where you are talking about your skincare! I'm glad you are having more better days now. I also had a lot of health issues this last year so I totally understand what you said in the beginning about not being able to fake it when you aren't feeling good.
Ollie’s is a cheap store for lots of things. I got the Beneath the Keep book there to read actually. I get lots of good books used. They take books that stores like target and Walmart have lots of and in bulk and sell for cheap. I love going there.
I’ve recently started “How to sell a haunted house”, and it immediately reminded me of when I was creeped out by a snowman figurine, because it had those bead eyes and definitely looked at me😂 had to lock it away😬 I guess after this book I’m never having anything even vaguely anthropomorphic in my house😅
You rock! What people say about you says more about them than you. Ignore the negative Nancy's. I am here for the long vlogs! My fave color is green. Glad you are feeling better. I loved How to Sell a Haunted House.
How did you figure out your skin care routine? I can't even figure out which steps I should be doing let alone the products I should be using :( For lotions, I tend to go back and forth between Gold Bond and some kind of shea butter lotion. The book I became obsessed with that no one else seems to like/understand is The Fifth Season. I ate that book UP! Since you've mentioned that you're clearing things out, have you read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo? It's a quick read and I loved her process and stuff for cleaning. I recommend it!
In my opinion I don’t see it as being negative. It’s having criticism on what you read. I’d rather see criticism than see you read the synopsis and pretend to read it like some famous booktubers I unsubscribed long ago. I feel like people get defensive because 1. They like said book. Or 2. They already don’t like you. I mean whenever I don’t like a booktuber or their pets, I unfollow… if they’re still watching they’re fans. Moreover, don’t apologize wtf. It’s their issue.
Tbf I don't feel bad about my book opinions lol Mostly about me not being very happy but I feel like it's normal considering my health issues! I really appreciate the support
My October was goood I thiiiink? Lol I don’t even know 😅 I started a business 2 years ago and it’s been picking up a lot but my mental health is declining. I did read 5 books this month after being in a reading slump for months!
I noticed the new packaging, did they reformulate too? I saw they have one in their rose line too now, did you try it? I'll have to catch up to so much when I go back to the beauty channel XD
@@BookswithEmilyFox I haven’t noticed a difference in the formula with the new packaging! ☺️But I didn’t check either haha. Haven’t tried the rose one… I’m not the biggest fan of rose scented things! I’ve stopped keeping up with new beauty products years ago ☠️
@@BookswithEmilyFox faque je suis allée demander à l’ami Google : apparently they did reformulate it, it’s now got 100% ingredients of natural origin. But like I said, didn’t really notice a major change (maybe the texture is a little more silky?) and I still love it!
Haha google for the win! I'll have to give it a shot one day. It was a lifesaver when I did lip swatch videos but I know some people found the matte finish strange!
Ok. Is it just me or does The Fate of the Tearling just start dragging around chapter 10. I actually said”JUST KILL HER ALREADY” out loud. Please tell me it gets better because I’m getting tired of this back and forth in time stuff. 😳😩😵💫

My newest cat had fleas (new experience for me) and had to get neutered, and doesn't get along with my female cat because shes just such a mean girl 🥴
I was lucky with the fleas and the first treatment did the trick… the ear mites though, they don’t want to leave 😂
Hope your kitties start getting along soon
Careful not to overdo it when you are feeling better, could be why you are crashing after. Speaking from personal experience lol
LOL that's absolutely what I keep doing!
I truly never noticed you being more negative. I love your reviews because you’re so honest! I hope you get so much vacuum PR to review 😂 I also have long hair and to many cats
😮 that Dino sweater is LIFE
I also have it in black and but the purple is just 👌
LOL I need to start tagging them here. I’m gonna find the best of the best 😂
Just finished How To Sell a Haunted House, I loved it!
I’m reading Horrorstor now.
this video literally came in the perfect moment in my life, love you
Honesty doesn’t equal negativity!
Ohh I've been looking at the self emptying ones! Do you think it's worth it? Also, I love that you added your credentials haha
@BookswithEmilyFox totally worth it! I use the vacuum once or twice a week and I've only fully emptied it once in 5 months
I have a roomba and I really like mine!
I had braces for 6 years or more, I feel you
It's never ending lol
We've had a Roborock robot vaccum for exactly 3 years. Still going strong!
3 years!! See that’s worth it 😂
My skin is so sensitive to most moisturizers but us Canadians need the moisture this time of year!
I didn't realize it was so small so I didn't feel too bad buying it before finishing the other one first lol
Have you tried the Eucerin Complete Repair one? It's more expensive so I rotate other ones in between but last winter it saved my legs!
On the negative comments subject, I’m sorry you’re seeing that on top of your health issues. Emily, you are an amazing person. Wish we could be besties in real life. Personally, I really enjoy your videos and I think you’re hilarious. I have read so many books because you’ve recommended them.
Thank you so much ❤
Where are your clear glasses from??Your kitties are so cute, love seeing (and hearing 😆) them!! Also, your hair looks so pretty in the clip where you are talking about your skincare! I'm glad you are having more better days now. I also had a lot of health issues this last year so I totally understand what you said in the beginning about not being able to fake it when you aren't feeling good.
They're from Pair Eyewear!
Thank you! No energy to fake anything at this point haha
LOL can't trust any of them after that book
I LOVE that Grady Hendrix book! I'm so glad you ended up enjoying it. I felt like I was in the minority there.
I don't know why people don't love it as much!!
SPOILERS
I am slightly traumatized by the chainsaw scene though lol
I love when you talk about your health struggles as someone who also has health struggles 🩷
You rock! What people say about you says more about them than you. Ignore the negative Nancy's.
I am here for the long vlogs! My fave color is green. Glad you are feeling better. I loved How to Sell a Haunted House.
You must be loving the last couple years of trends, so much green! So do I, I love my green library!
@BookswithEmilyFox yes!
I am on a Riley Sager kick, and am currently reading ‘Home Before Dark’
I’d definitely recommend skipping “survive the night” and “the house across the lake” by him! I did like “the last time I lied” though
I'm sooo glad you enjoyed How to sell a haunted house 😍bc sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who loved that book 😅
It was great! I don't know why people don't like it!
I love the isntree cream and their SPF is my absolute favorite. I struggle with feet too, the sticky feeling is unbearable.
Their sunscreen is all I was using this summer!! No whitecast, lightweight... so good!
Love your videos Emily!!! Wish i knew you IRL, we would definitely be friends!!😊
Stop it, you're so sweet
I am now invested in the murderbot vacuum saga and convinced I need one so please tell me what to buy lol
I'll definitely keep you posted!
good video yet again, thank you love ❤️
I use a cecotec vacuum robot and it has not failed yet (it’s been working for like six months). I have the medium ranged $$
Thank you for letting me know! I think I’m going to become a robot vacuum expert soon… looking up a million reviews 😂
@ share the knowledge!! I’d like to know :)
Nuxe Rêve de Miel is my absolute fave of all time! Use it every day.
I just finished How to Sell a Haunted House. It was OK. Kinda of silly. 😊
All of his books kinda are so I was prepared lol
The first comment cool.
❤❤❤
Oh, good gravy. Don't people have better things to do than harrass people who aren't in the same emotional space as themselves?
Just be yourself
How to sale a haunted house is good. Puppets are creepy
They really are! It definitely worked on me 😭
Ok. Is it just me or does The Fate of the Tearling just start dragging around chapter 10. I actually said”JUST KILL HER ALREADY” out loud. Please tell me it gets better because I’m getting tired of this back and forth in time stuff. 😳😩😵💫
I really enjoy your vlogs + hope you feel better bobo ♥️♥️
Thank you ❤️
Don’t listen to the haters! I’ve never noticed you being negative! I’ve been a long time watcher for several years and always look forward to your videos …and the kitties!!
