Synopsis: Film „Čačarija" talkes about čakavian speach of subethnic group that lives in a few villages in the mountain Gorjanci near Kostanjevica along the border with Croatia. Oral tradition of inhabitants in those villages says that they came in this area at the time of the Uskoks settlings in Gorjanci (Žumberak). Film has three main parts: a.) introduction exposes b.) the oral tradition of the community about its origins; the second talks about characteristics of that dialect; 3rd talks about the čakavian dialect as a motive of discrimination in the social environment of Kostanjevica. The base of the music is traditional songs in čakavian dialect. Film is completed by a local anecdote.
