INDAspect besides fixing the stations we all better hope they have custodians to clean the new stations bathrooms everyday so that way the bathrooms don't get really dirty. and what they should do to have time to do it they should have 5 minutes and they should be done MTA should not make any excuses why they can't clean stuff. but all i know is they have a long way to go cause we need all new stations in new york city so that we can go back to Top 5 clean stations.
@SgtBaker16 They wont be able to make the construction without bothering. Since the subway operates 24/7, they wont have time for construction without causing service to be get worse.
I was on the first subway train into the new station when it reopened. It was a completely unplanned event! None of us on the subway that day expected to be shunted into the new station. We found out at Rector Street when the train was delayed and the announcement made as to why!
Great, can you please start upgrading the rest of the system? The Second Ave Subway should be considered DONE for the foreseeable future until the trains are safe for New Yorkers!
The R/W platforms are almost impossible to be made accessible, since they appear to be too narrow to fit an elevator. However, it could be installed if the center trackway was covered up and fused both island platforms into one wide island platform in the same manner as the shuttle platform at GCT. The only disadvantage to this is that southbound W trains and northbound R trains short-turn on the center track during weekdays and late nights, respectively and it’ll no longer be possible. However, that’s not really an issue at all since they don’t have to short-turn anyway.
A better NY, like getting the SAS completed by hopefully 2050. The Lex Av Line will really appreciate it. Maybe even making the return of the 8 as a full time train, running on the Rush hour 5 line. Ok, I'm asking for a little too much. Right?
I'm going to miss the old station. The mosaic tile, the loop, the gap fillers. Sigh. Can you please open up the City Hall Loop again. Please. Don't take the history away just to modernize. I am sure both can be done. Though I know this loop was too small.
If they could reopen it; they'd have to build an entirely new station; which only South Ferry needs. If City Hall reopened as a new station; i'd say there'd be a transfer to the City Hall (N)(R)(W) station.
Blake McNamara Why do that when Bowling Green is a more suited terminal? If anything, the 5 train should travel to Utica Avenue (increased 2 train service will replace the lightly utilized 5 train to Flatbush Avenue) at all times except late nights, when service terminates at 149th Street-Grand Concourse. (FYI, we’re on a public website so I can comment on whatever post I want).
Roberto Martinez hate to break it to you but Worth Street isn’t coming back ever. It’s way too close to City Hall and will not get very many passengers if it did open
DC Yankee That's not saying anything. Imagine how it took them 20 years (1996 to 2016) to finish the Second Avenue subway . And how it took them 14 years (1996 to 2010) just to finish the corner of the LIRR station at Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn.
DC Yankee The Rockaway Line was easier to do, since it was outdoors. Here, they had to rip out everything, and reinstall new equipment, all in confined space. Plus they had to come up with a new design, where they didn’t have to for the Rockaway Line.
It’s going to be hell on earth when they fix Chambers St station 🚉 😂
which one, the Varick ave, Sixth ave or Jamaica line station?
@@Saxshoe Obviously the Jamaica Line, lol, I believe that they already started renovating it.

What a beautiful station. Simple in its design.
That's going to be a nice looking station
I'm gonna miss the old station.
Michael Greenhaus It would be a good Idea if they turned the old Station into a museum or just leave it as (5) train looping
Michael Greenhaus either the last stop on the 5 train or a 3rd platform for 1 trains last stop
hopefully there'll be tours of the station just like city hall station....
@Nathan the Roblox Gamer I'm going to miss. The old South Ferry loop to i pray that we could ride on the old South Ferry loop on the 1 line one day
So people could see the old loop

RIP old South Ferry station
Sounds awesome, hope I can check it out when its ready.
Imperial Chibi Guard it reopened today (ithink)
TheDavinchoo Well damn, MTA is on point.
Imperial Chibi Guard In June 25, MTA was finishing the last touches to the station
I am checking it out Thursday.
I really think they should keep both stations alive.
So their will be more trains in south ferry
Are YOU STUPID
Edrick Ang That New South Ferry Terminal can TURN MORE TRAINS, thus providing MORE SERVICE
My sun said share the love and good job mta. Also, keep working hard to build back the city and stations!
Hopefully we get that kind of stuff in other stations :)
An expensive infrastructure project on time and on budget? In NYC?! Hell must have frozen over.

Not to sound stupid, but is the new south ferry still going to transfer with the R and W trains, or is there going to be an out of system transfer?
Train Man Marc The transfer is still indoors.
I lived near the rector st but i moved to 3rd avenue and 138 in the bronx
Welcome back South ferry! May the old loop RIP. For real this time.

somecallmeelvis No.

what happens to the old station?

6 Train / BFW Official / BTW Official At this point, just extend the local tracks via a new alignment to the WTC PATH station.
ok but why is it suggested by sweet victory - as featured in Spongebon Squarepants
Ok now howabout starting that subway connection to Staten Island over 100 years ago already?!?!
This is a good station 😁😀😊
MTA is very honest, Train operaters of other countries lie hard
One of the saddest moments for me is when they closed the South Ferry Loop
Well you should know about the 9 train it aslo on the 1 line
Zoe Wood Technically, the 1 train IS the 9 trains. Also the designation has been defunct for years so no need for them to point that out.
Save transit let's keep new york up
I just wonder just how much money has the MTA spent on opening all of these different South Ferry platforms and stations over the last 50 years
Pleas reopen the two loops.
Polloshtitl Increible Inner Loop is for 5 Trains that terminate at Bowling green
Why? Bowling Green is a short walk away and the new station is fine.
I can’t imagine what it looks like down the stairs to the platform
Cool

Shouldn't you be more concerned about the derailment instead of this
