In the original story, the narrator says that they did not touch the mushroom which explains why both versions features the mushroom having different effects.
This literally recommended to me, uhhhhhh If there's a version that makes a balance of both PC and SNES versions... it'll obviously be like the SNES romhack, but the jumpscares have to be a lot more believable (or maybe, "cheap scares" element needs to be toned down), but it's currently not known when that'll be a thing!
