Thank you for your hard work and sharing what you have. Perhaps though, Naomi told her daughters to stay because she knew that without the ability to sell her land they would all have questionable futures. She says that she has no more sons for them to marry and even if she did in the future it would be a long time before they grew up. Also, it doesn’t really make sense to say that God takes away everything from your life to get you in a certain place, including people because that ignores the personhood of all the other people and God loves everyone. Remember the parable of the Good Shepherd, he seeks out that which are lost. You said yourself that they didn’t have a copy of the scriptures in their hands. So, if the commandments of God are distant memories I believe they were all in the same boat. recognize that Job lost all of his family but it wasn’t God who killed them. It was Satan. I believe when bad things happen it is not because God orchestrated them but because we live in a fallen world. Ephesians 2 says there is a ruler of the kingdom of this air, a spirit that is at work in the hearts of the disobedient. It is a result of the fall of man. God doesn’t orchestrate evil, however it does happen and he can bring all things to good for those who love Him. If we say that everything that happens on earth is because God orchestrated it we are taking away personal choice and the repercussions of that choice. If that were so we would have to say that God wanted Adam and Eve to eat from the tree. Cain killed Abel because God orchestrated it but God told Cain that evil crouches at his door and it is his job to master it. God is not evil, He does not tempt and He is Love. I know this is a common teaching and I hesitated to comment here because I have seen such anger in the Christian world when people are trying to protect their doctrine. I have no ill feelings here but ask you to consider this.

God reproofs those He loves and it is better to be punished on earth than to not pay for crimes. God allows suffering bc it leads us closer to the truth that this is a fallen world and we need the Lord to come back

You should never hesitate to comment out of fear (in this case, fear of angering others), for only through discourse do we learn. Thank you for expressing your thoughts.
