    My question is why Belichick benched Malcolm Butler for the Super Bowl. Butler played more defensive snaps than any other player that year, and was the hero of the previous Super Bowl win against Seattle.

    • @anilchitnis4875
      @anilchitnis4875 8 месяцев назад

      I had the same issue, but then I realized that Bill was taking the high road and protecting Butler by not disclosing why Butler was benched.

    • @budfox2337
      @budfox2337 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@anilchitnis4875 The Hell with the high road. Patriots would have won the Superbowl if Butler played. Eagles never punted once. A bench player, Bademosi replaced Butler, he got torched and couldn't make a tackle.

    Peter we’ll miss your conversations with Dan, and also Mike Florio. Thanks for all you’ve done for NFL fans. And Mike Florio was 100% right the other day: you drove to the Super Bowl with the Eagles coach last year (if I remember correctly)…and this year, you sat - alone, and one-on-one - with Chiefs coach Andy Reid, just minutes after his team WON the Super Bowl. In today’s media world (which is so far away from the days when Michael Irvin was excited to see you, because that meant Sports Illustrated was covering their game that week), that kind of “access” speaks volumes about how respected you are, how much people trust you & your professionalism, and the status you’ve achieved in your career. And as someone who’s been watching football as long or longer than you’ve been writing about it, I think Mike Florio was 100% right: it’ll be a long, LONG time, before anyone - let alone one of these hot take specialists or podcasters, who get all the attention these days - is granted the opportunity to spend time alone with a Super Bowl coach, in the time just before or after the Big Game. All the best of luck & enjoy (semi-) retirement!

      @@pretzelhunt jesus christ, it happens once in a blue moon, you are literally lucky to be part of a court storming performance in your youth.
      Im tired of demonizing regular people, everybody does it these days, its the populations fault for inflation, for not working hard enough, for unions wanting to be paid a living wage etc etc etc etc. Then I gotta tune into a sports program and get a finger wagged at me by 2 rich, out of touch, old men who probably haven't gotten as excited as those kids were about anything in their lives in YEARS
      Its a joke
      There are simple ass measures that could be taken to ensure everybodys safety and experience but nope. We gotta take the absolute most extreme example and change all the rules because of it. Typical America overreacting to everything

    Makes the claim that the Bears are going to trade the number 1 over all pick by dressing up this claim with the phrase " that's the way the winds are blowing" as if he has some inside info to support this claim then reveals that he was doing nothing more than stating his opinion? As a Bears fan who actually cares about the team and especially about this topic, I have to say talk
    about irresponsible "journalism". Mr. King, good riddance.
