Well I have a few mates who love their v stroms and I have ridden a couple, they are comparable bikes of similar engines, but as an older model I would go for a dero as I usually find the finish of the honda is much longer lasting and the honda fit and finish is very good, mine is an 05 plate and is still looking good and riding well and apart from serviceable items I've not had many issues and it now got 55,000 on the clock and still pulls like a train, I would go for a fuel injected model though. Let me know what you decide.
