My rod was 8" too long. Its stainless and a bear to bend. Hes got the arm backwards. The bolt head goes in to the arm slot. No vice grip needed. The bolt kit will allow u to put a neutral safety switch there. Use one of the bolts provided with the shoulder n it. Slot in the arm allows u to adjust the stroke to line up the gears shift.
Good video my brother. I got a 1990 K5 Blazer 700r4 transmission I am thinking about buying one because I have a 3 inchbody lift on my truck and I cannot put my shifter in low first and second because the rod is too short for when I lift the body up on the frame I would have to take my original rod and weld another piece on there or by this rod here.. I'm just trying to figure out which would be a little easier.
Having done both I can assure you welding a 3 inch bar in the middle of your factory rod is the best. It’s stronger than this. That’s just my opinion. The longer this bar gets I think the weaker it gets. The factory one is thicker.
You’re right! That’s what my buddy Jeff suggested, another guy suggested a coupler and just cut, thread and put a coupler in, many ways to skin this cat I suppose!

Great work!!
Thanks! Worked out perfectly
I got mine right from Lokar. Rod was too short so I cut it in half and added 1.5 inches welded back together. It was mint then.

Will it shift all the way down into first?
I had to move it one more split up to catch first actually
