Update: Lindormi, in Valdrakken, now sells 441 BoA random dungeon items that are 1/8 on the veteran track for 350 flightstones if you have 1000 m+ score!
This is one of the best advice. I took a Myth tier piece instead of Hero brand trinket from Smolderon during the 2nd week - worst mistake of my WoW career because I never seen it drop ever since.
The dream coalescence you get while farming whelpling crests can be used to exchange for 1 mount @1000, 2 toys @500 each, and 415 gears which is a good source for catalysing into season 2 lfr tiers for transmog.

I recommend doing the time rift (near Valdrakken) once or twice a week. The first weekly gives a token for one gear piece from a vendor in the hub where you accept the weekly quest. The items are similar loot to the dream weeky which is explained in the video and you can also buy trinkets from time rift. You also get an use item which will guarantee a drop from the next time rift (it can be only cosmetic or real gear tho and the drops from the time rift boss itself is lower than the gear from the vendor for the weekly). For fresh alts, this can be a good boost of ilvl to get accepted in the LFR tool 😅
What i do is go to AH buy 424 gear for every slot. Then go into lfr for some gear. After go do world boss,superbloom and weekly rep quest from emerald dream. At that point you craft some gear to 460 . You would have got sparks from clearing lfr you might only have enough flightstones for 1 or 2 pieces tho. Then depending on ilvl either start M+ runs or try get into normal raid.
What i do is once im at around 440 ill start a pug for normal amirdrasil and then head to start a heroic pug which most take you all the way to fyrakk now. I make sure i dont inv people with my class. If im a hunter then no other mail wearer will join that group to be safe :)
The 0 gold route would be just doing the emerald dream campaign to get the gear and enough flightstones for a 463 set+. champion rep pieces and 2 478 crest. It also coincidentally generates just enough gold for 2 crafted pieces’ materials.
If you’re someone like me who enjoys both PvP and PvE you can get a lot of 454-463 gear just by capping conquest in order to buy body armor pieces to then convert into tier gear. You can also buy conquest gear for other slots and then throw them in the catalyst to change the stats on the pieces. Between that and crafted 463 gear using dream shards I have almost a full set of gear
Whelp crest tip is by far the best. Farming green clouds is a bit weak in Azure Span from my experience but when Thaldraszus is active you can easily get enough to craft 447 item in every available slot in like 30-45 min and it's not even as expensive as you say. All mats on my server are like 400g and I put a 100g tip on public order and it still gets completed instantly so that's like 6k gold for 447 in all possible slots but realistically less since you can easily get 3 447 items from Dream weeklies and maybe items from world boss and lfr as well.

And for them i think you are going waay too quick Like how you showed how to get the 447 item from the crafting order, you blasted though that very quickly and didnt follow it though You fly toward the catalyser, and turn back. the fact there is no way to farm 447 from a forbidden reach style zone was a huge miss this patch. getting from 424 to 447 is a huge friction point for dps

Hey, great vid for newer players, one thing to note on the dream weeklys, the seedbloom weekly bag can also award a catalyzable piece, and doing the 5 seedblooms is a great source of Dream rep at the same time.

If gold isn't a problem and your just looking for some quick pieces to get into LFR or another ground finder your to low an Ilvl for you can purchase explorer level gear from the AH. This gear can be upgraded to 437 ilvl. Again it's not great, but you can fill your whole toon out trinkets aswell for fairly cheap.
Great tips for a returning player. These prices though, 1k for mats, offering 3k. Where I am (EU) mats for the exact same thing were 300g. I gave 750g and it was filled in 5 seconds :-). Thanks
I found it much easier to farm 428 that's upgradable to 450 from time walking and just jumping into LFR/Normal/M+ and saving all the crafting mats for later.
I’ve been only doing my 2 embellishment crafts per character just because crafting is absurdly expensive right now. A 486 one handed weapon on my dh cost me about 20,000 in materials alone, and even though it’s probably more efficient aspect crest wise, it’s not really worth it gold wise.
Nobody else can say how much gold is worth to you, it varies extremely. Players who've been gathering gold during the expac can drop a couple of hundred k without noticing it, returning players with no gold will feel 20k extremely hard, while others will buy a token to spend on gold to gear up their char and be fine.
You can craft rings and a necklace for under 2k for ALL THREE in terms of mats. Embellishments and crafter tips may cost you another 10-15k based on your desired item level, but in general these slots are a lot cheaper than the others. Also cloth gear is extremely cheap if you're one of those classes (excluding the friendship wrists ofc)
Can someone tell me please what am I missing on the "just the to renown 20" part? I've been playing since release of 10.2 and doing the weekly with the walking tree and did all the campaign stuff and I am renown 13. Is there any other way to get more rep I am missing out on majorly here? Seems so slow :(
Yes these people grind to renown 20 on week 1 of the patch lol. If you just play the game normally and do not deliberately grind any content you will be around 10-15. I did weekly quests in Emerald Dream and only heroic raids and am at renown 11.
I haven't played since 2010 & had 2 mains (one pve, one pvp) and 2 alts, 2 twinks - should I do the gear upgrade? NO clue on what to do as a returning player. They are on dead servers (shadowmoon) & not sure whether I should transfer, transfer w/upgrade, forget, etc. Anyone have any advice? The two mains and one of the alts were very geared back in the day. Full pvp sets and full raid top tier set. IDK WHAT TO DO lol please any advice is appreciated!
Fom 0 to 70 it takes very little time under 10hours for raid ready boost character so why pay 60$? You get basic gear from quest chain or 4 weekly (world boss has low chance) Superbloom has 100% and planting 5 seeds has 100% and getting 1500 rep has 100%.These alone and quest gear or auction house under 500g gear gets LFR ready item level day 1. Then up to you finding normal/heroic raids or mythic+ runs.
yeah I've been looking for a way around the flightstone bottleneck - best i can say is do the loam niffen intro to the campaign, get a few hundred pretty early on into that, but tbh nothing feels good
Remember when you could just do dungeons and get good enough gear to raid... now you have to go through 500 steps just to get told sorry you don't have the acheiv to raid :(
Don’t forget timewalking raid it gives normal raid ilvl gear and there are 2 quests that give you an additional normal piece and an additional heroic ilvl piece
Basically, spend 10 hours running through the most current zone doing mindless quest and then spend like 100k gold and you'll be at like 450-460. After that, look forward to the dreadfully slow grind that is 1 item per 4 m+ and having to farm like 900 wyrm / aspect frags.
You can get 2 set pretty easily by just doing the weekly quests and catalyzing the gear you get. You need to get a little lucky but, I've managed to get 2 set on almost all my characters by just doing weekly quests. On top of that if you have gold you can buy a BOE off the AH and catalyze it.
Even easier you just make a normal raid on your own. Dont take anyone whos not 9/9, dont take anyone on your tier token. If you can help it avoid ppl with your armor class or only take them if they outgear the place. Easy 4pc Nobody complains youre undergeared, its your raid. And its normal which is a joke Then smash 17s for hero gear. Alta to 470 in a single day if youre not terrible at the gane
I will never understand why people play this game for long periods of time. If you diligently and obsessively do a ton of random time consuming things, you MIGHT be able to get a handful of characters to high ilvl by the time they release a new patch or DLC that will render all of your gear inferior to starting greens in the new content, lol. I pop back in every few years and love seeing people that worked so hard to gear swap out their uber gear for the same quest rewards i do on my freshly boosted character that was included in the DLC price, lmao.
WOW is so Sh!t now. It's all about dragging you, the player, along to stay on line more, you have to get this to upgrade this how many times?????? 1-8 times??? For each item of gear??? Over and over again???? How many "Apexis Crystals*" do I have to get now???? For each item x how many???? F that, just give me the damn upgraded gear without all the BS damn it..... Don't forget the 5 Deamseeds weekly, it also gives a Veteran piece. Can also run a Time Rift or two to get decent trinkets.
Best Tip for all alts and returning players:
If you get offered your BIS trinket on Myth track from the Vault, it would be prudent TO TAKE IT!

Worth mentioning that Drake's crests come from planting seeds - just two a pop, but if you're allergic to grouping, it's a good source.

4x Ruby Life pools is not just for rats - I do it on my main - can knock out that quest in like 10 min

Doing TW ulduar bosses on hardmode gives hero gear.
I think the Coalescence bonanza is a random bonus not just a single node. I just got it from 2 in a row.
