this video really helped me a LOT. i’ve been wondering about every bit of advice he’s given ever since i started playing again just a few weeks ago. i had played a tiny bit(just main riffs really to a few songs) and stopped playing when i moved but then recently restarted and have made great progress compared to where i use to be. thank you for you the advice!
I'm 20, ive tried to learn guitar when I was 11 and I was getting really good, but I moved out of state lost my notes and lost all my talent when I was 13. I tried picking it up again 4 years ago, but didn't have much success. I feel like it's just a fantasy of me playing guitar now....
Thanks for you're practice bro I know how to play the electric guitar don't worry beginners you will get there you just need a little practice Thanks to these videos now I know how to make solos and songs and I want to start a band next year bye beginners good luck
I like this idea... there are a whole slue of songs i like...I am avery beginning beginner... eventually i would like to be able to play Sultans of Swing and i am not sure what songs would go in between right now I am working on Horse With No Name and Sweet Home Alabama I have not mastered those yet...but i am close with Horse With No Name
The kind of beginner he talks about comparing to me (which bought a guitar not even a week ago) is a guitar god, I'm not even able to do power chords consistently. The only song I've tried so far is Deftones - Bored, which seems easy enough to me but I make it sound like shit. Should I stick to basic stuff forever until it starts sounding less of a shit ?
So there, I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweet shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweet shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopkeeper and his son that's a different story altogether.....I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really, but sure enough I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show.
+Sue Burek before starting to play with the record what works for me is decomposing the song in parts(rift, solo, etc), then practice each one separetly over and over while increasing the tempo(speed) each time i restart it, until i don't have to think about the next note and that i can play it faster than the original, then put it all togheter and play along with the song, even then it can take a couples of tries before being able to start following it, another trick i've picked up with the years, is to keep the beat and get rid of the habit of almost "freezing" when you miss a note or if you start playing the wrong part, you want to be able to play the next note like it didn't happen even if you're in the middle of a solo! The goal is to be able to play naturally without thinking!!!

I think people loose track of what beginner means. If I could play 20 songs I’d feel like I made it. 😂

Are the songs mentioned in the practice routine to be played after finishing your 10 day starter course?
You are a great teacher!
Impeccable advise.

You know nothing jon Snuuuww
I find it difficult to play along with the record. The songs are too fast for me. Any suggestions?

Practice a little part first, then when you get that down, add a little more
2:00 - video made no sense till here. 😝
lmao i keep getting distracted by how attractive he is 💀😭
Lol 💪
u weirdly look like me
Had to delete my comments due to an upset user's foul language. Anyways, no guitar, just 9 minutes of talking.
Andy has tons of videos on RUclips showing how to play guitar where he is playing, plus a whole guitar learning website.
