All great info as always. My favorite is #10, give credit where credit is due. So many channels "aggregate" info and ideas from other, usually smaller channels, and present it as their own. In the writing world, it's called plagiarism and it stinks. And, signing and dating, especially dating, your projects is so important for tracking our progress. It's so difficult to see or feel forward progression day to day and project to project, but when you see something you did a year ago, progress is clear and evident. LOVE this --YES--its okay to NOT finish...Spot on! One thing I'd add is to not sweat the details. I see so many people get caught up in the exact measurements of something or exact number of pages in a signature or model number of a rubber stamp set; it's, a JUNK journal, it doesn't matter the size or the number of pages or which stamps. It's the idea, the inspiration, the doing-of the thing, rather than trying to exactly copy something you've seen in a video, use what you have and enjoy the process.

Another truly wonderful & helpful video, Ceri, thank you! I've been collecting ideas for a while now for things I'd like to create in a lined notebook. One thing I'm doing that's helpful to me is having separate pages, and estimating the time commitment the project might take. That way, instead of thinking I don't have time to create something, I can find a small project on my 10-minute page or if I have a free afternoon, I choose something bigger from the hour+ page, for example. Cheers to you for a lovely week!

As Gayle mentioned in one of her videos a while ago, a place for everthing and everything in its place. I don't have a lot of space so I have to keep my space fairly clean. Some of my ways to stop me from buying more supplies than I need and what helps me to keep my space organized. We all know the growing scraps piles and because of not having a huge amount of space to store my scraps I decided to keep an eye on them. I have some boxes within a bigger box where I try to keep my scraps kind of organiced (paper scraps, fabric scraps, other left overs) and every once in a while I put my self to the challenge to work on a project or even start a new project only by using whats in my scrap boxes. That helps me not to get overwhelmed by the "scraps-monster". I think we all know also the stuff we buy and don't like it very much. Instead of putting it in a box anywhere and never use it I have a box with the label that says "Use Up". Sometimes I find new ways to use the products in this box but the most important thing is that I feel happy when I've used up stuff from that box.

    • @CeriGriffiths

All wonderful inspirations for addressing life itself. I can relate to all ten of them. Taking a beaded protect apart because I just didn't like it or want to finish it, is something I have recently done. You have taken the guilt away. A big thank you for that. We have been taught to finish what we start. Sometimes that is just poppycock and a rule to be discarded.

I know we are on opposite ends of the "This is How I Work" spectrum but I always, always enjoy how you see things and how you present them in video form. Thank you:)

Thank you Patricia its always a pleasure to hear your input, I feel being at different ends of the spectrum as you put it makes for an interesting creative life and helps us understand things from different perceptions. Relieving ourselves of the obligation to finish a project has been one of the biggest stress relievers I’ve found, starting something in the heat of the moment is something I do a lot and then loose interest as time passes but feel the piece is nagging me to finish it. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us all each week. ❤️

Wonderful tips!! The one that really rings true for me is writing down the ideas as soon as I have them. I'm a housekeeper at a local hotel so there aren't many times I need to actually engage my brain. So when my mind is wandering and a card idea pops into my head I will head out to my cart, grab a drink out of my water bottle and stand there and write down my idea. If I don't do that, the idea is gone for good! I'm in the process of writing up a blog post for one such idea, and that card turned out amazingly if I do say so myself! I'm off to check out more of your videos!

Ceri thank you. I feel seen. The only thing I might add is to never compare your work to someone else’s.
I ant to have beautiful pieces all the time, but sometimes I can’t reproduce something. Usually it is my penchant for strong color, or my love of certain media that takes me to another place. I am still inspired, and yes give credit, even if the original inspiration looks nothing like my version.
Thanks for being YOU , being REAL, and being POSITIVE.
Rachel, Thanks for organizing this collab.

This was extremely helpful! I've been toying with the idea of taking an inventory of unfinished projects, and you've made me realize that letting go of some them will make space for other things and reduce my guilt! I should have taken notes... I'll have to watch it again. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. Looking forward to checking out your other videos.
