Btw gurl you can go in dorms aswell ypu just have to tell the uni aboat how u want to move out bc u want privacy and how your house doensr have enough rooms and your out of 100% youll probs be able to get a dorm

your rooms looks lovely! i’m guessing it’s Allen Court? If so what type of room is it because yours looks perfect! also would you recommend it over endcliffe? city accommodation looks so much prettier but im just worried it will be quiet :)
thank you!! yes i’m in allen court in a 3/4 room, which i think is the smallest room type in allen court? it is quite quiet from what i’ve experienced so far but i don’t mind walking or ubering to endcliffe and then i get quiet in my own accomodation when i get back :) x

i think it’s a bit different to normal years in terms of how sociable just beaucse of the virus but the common room seemed like it was used a lot at the start and there were lots of group chats for the whole building that people would make friends in!! i think allen court has more international students compared to the other accommodations so it’s probably quite likely you’ll have a mix? although my flat is home students only x

Uhm loved your room, great effort on making it look amazing. Ihve noticed smt and wanted to ask- do most accommodations not have any air conditioning or fans provided ? are they even needed ? cas i live in a hot country thus the question
hii! thank youu! typically i think it would be rare to find any houses or flats in the uk with air conditioning just because of the typical weather here, you would rarely ever need one so i doubt any accommodations provide this x

hi !! i recently got accepted to sheffield uni
the shower is almost like a wet room so most of the times i showered water would end up over the whole bathroom, but this also might’ve been because the shower curtain provided wasn’t the best - i would just say try not to leave things on the floor when you shower, i would always take my bath mat outside the bathroom door when i showered x
Do they sort students randomly and not according to what course you're taking? Also i might as well ask what course your doing?

This is just the standard ensuite room in Allen court! the deluxe has a bigger desk and bathroom, but mine is just the ensuite 😊

I'm hoping to attend U Sheffield in the fall as an exchange student!! One question - do you think I'd be able to ship items to the dorm (from home, amazon, etc.) if I can't bring it in suitcases?
yes definitely! the reception is really good for getting post but i’m not sure how long they keep it for so i’d advise waiting till you get here and then getting someone from home to ship it to you? but to collect parcels you just go to reception with an email saying they’ve received it and they might ask for your id ☺️

Which accommodation is this and which room type?
this is allen court and i have a 3/4 bed, which i think is the smallest choice in allen court? although i might be wrong X

city accomodation x it’s called allen court specifically x
AVOID ALLEN COURT AT ALL COST!!! I have the WORST and MOST INCONSIDERATE neighbours - playing speakers at so loud volume, it affects my peace and concentration for studying. When I reported to management, they said the loud volume is acceptable and "normal living noise". But it is not "normal living noise" - it happens almost 4 times a week!! The management even accused me for harassing and bullying my neighbour instead. The management is racist and terribly rude when discussing with them on this issue. They will BLAME YOU for all the complains you make, even asking you to move out!! DON'T STAY IN ALLEN COURT. Based on my friends' review, I recommend:
1) Cosmos
2) Vita
3) Aspect3
4) Hollis Croft
5) Sharman Court
JUST STAY AWAY FROM ALLEN COURT. I am sharing from my very, very terrible experience!!! THE WALLS HERE ARE FREAKING PAPER-THIN and the ROOM IS SO SMALL that you hear your neighbour just talking on the phone. There is NO PRIVACY.
It's so rude for people to play music loudly, it's disrespectful and inconsiderate.
hi how did u pay for the accommodation?
with my maintenance loan, i had enough to pay for the year and luckily some leftover for food. and then i got a bursary too so i don’t have to worry about money quite as much x

Are the lights yellow or white?
from what i remember, the lights were a little bit yellow but the lamp/little light on the wall was a bit more white x

And I wonder if the location of Sheffield International College & St. Vincent's Place accommodation is safety place. Because the location is far away from main campus of Uni of Sheffield.

i wish i could give you a good answer but i’m not actually sure where that accomodation is so i can’t say what it’s like x sheffield is pretty safe from what i’ve seen tho

im not sure if they offer that in allen court where i’m staying, since i didn’t look and i haven’t been to many peoples flats:( but i know there are lots of non-uni owned accomodations really close to this(city centre) that do studios!! like unite students etc.
