Phew! I finally did it. All thanks to God for the wisdom. Guys, I was able to mod Nvidia quadro drivers & installed them on my Nvidia quadro k2100m. The last driver for my card by Nvidia was 427.60, October 2021. But I was able to install one from August 2022. I followed this video but that method wasn't full proof enough for me. So I made a few additional important changes. I also have Nvidia control panel working.

But the only difference btw what you did & what I did was to delete all the lines of hardware IDs with Nvidia gtx 860m and replace them with that of my graphics card. So instead of putting the hardware IDs of gtx 880m in-between the two for gtx 860m, I just deleted everything with gtx 860m & replaced them with mine. I also observed that disabling driver signature enforcement has to be done whenever I want to install such a hacked driver. Installing it from device manager is also important. Choose the "I have a disk" option then select the Nvidia "display driver" folder of the hacked driver to be installed. For mobile quadro cards, the files containing the hardware IDs are nvblwi, nvdwi, and nvwimi. I had to make the same changes in all 3 set up files. I replaced Nvidia quadro k2200m with mine k2100m. So device manager sees all the drivers to be installed/updated as k2100m drivers. I already know the whole process by heart now btw. Thanks for your video.

Or explain what I did as an alternative at that part. I think many will benefit from it. Even my Intel HD 4600 now has vulkan 1.2 b'cos of the newer driver & my Nvidia has opengl 4.6 & vulkan 1.2. Both my Nvidia & Intel graphics had only vulkan 1.1 with the last official driver from Nvidia. I think Nvidia as a company is lame btw. Double standards & partiality all the way. It still released drivers for cards like quadro k2200m that were released less than a year after mine while mine had been dumped since October 2021.

Dude, it's already 2023 and this tutorial still works. I want to thank you for the help. I followed the whole procedure and it worked on my hardware. My laptop is an MSI GT70 2PC with a GTX 870M and latest driver is 425.31 too. I followed the tutorial exactly, the only thing I did differently was that when searching for the lines, there were more than one result. In your video, you only needed to change one line, but I had to change four lines. Maybe people who are experiencing errors are only changing one line even if there are more than one line. I managed to update to driver version 472.12. My previous version was the same as yours, 425.31. I tested 472.12 right away, and everything worked fine without any issues. I've tested it with all the graphic software I use here, such as After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and there haven't been any problems. I want to try if it will work with version 531.79, even though some people below here said it doesn't work. I'll give it a try and come back here to provide feedback on whether it worked or not. Oh, and I did something else too. I created an .exe file of the modification using a cleaner installation with NVCleanstall_1.15.1. After following your tutorial, I created an executable of the modified version with only the necessary components, and now I have a customized .exe installation file! How did you do it? Which driver you tried to install? i also have 740M and trying the latest driver, i cant pass the step where i need to locate the name of the gpu i selected in nvidia drivers to download latest drivers, the file my gpu strings appears doesnt exist in latest drivers
471.96 is the latest that can be updated to using this method, still better than my 425.31 for 765m. Thanks If all else fails maybe try a open source driver like Nouveau.

I'll give it a go however I am a bit concerned whether the same procedure would work on sli 880ms, I mean logically it should as both gpus would be receiving the same nvidia driver update in one go but given that I am tweaking for the driver to be installed; I don't know if both gpus have their distinct directories or are linked and treated as one on the software level of things.
You'll have no problems with drivers per say but more so with SLI configuration. Since its not really in use I doubt you'll get any good performance in newer games but possibly in some older ones still.

@@gentlewhisper2609 Yeah SLI and non sli drivers is not really a thing. Like you see in the video the drivers for X GPU fit on other XYZ GPU's as well. There is maybe 30 drivers version that fit all GPU's. Its not like they make specific ones for specific gpu.

However, the manufacturer of my pc is Apple, and since Apple and nvidia ended their partnership for GPUs a long while ago, I think none of the newer drivers actually support Apple nvidia GPUs. This was a very long and technical process. It's not something that you can just do without being careful and systemic. But in the end I still got the incomparable hardware error. So I'm guessing the changes need to be made to the other inf files. No need to be insulting saying maybe some are stupid/dumb bro. It was a long & delicate process.

If you have maxwell (in gpuz it is gm107) you can get latest If you have gk104, your max is 474.** Or select gt760 ti when selecting drivers @@totototo3501
Guys, I advise you to update your windows to at least Windows 8.1/10 in order to install the most recent driver possible that your graphics card can take. Preferably windows 10. Many of the most recent drivers from 2022 till date may not even be supported on windows 8/8.1.

Even having million subs usually means nothing as you won't get enough money to get anything substancial. I was thinking many times to just delete my whole RUclips channel but I know it helped many people so I didn't. I get absolute nothing from these views but a bit of seratonin. Any ads you might see are there because RUclips put them there even though I will earn absolutely nothing from it. In my case it completes the installation, but as soon as I restart the computer and enter the device manager, the message with the error (code 43) appears. And the Nvidia control panel does not appear. I use the GT 630 Synergy Zotac

I tried it and I managed to bypass the checking gpu checking step from the drivers, but drivers fail to install after half installation, any clue about this I tried it on GTX 780 and replaced Nvidia GTX 750's section = 5 for it in latest drivers
Okay so I did managed to get the drivers installed after 2 to 3 trials, now problem is, Window Disables my GPU with error code (43) with latest drivers installed, It's not happening with recommended latest drivers for GTX 780 but with these bypass drivers. Anybody know how to fix this?

I didn't know anything of this was possible, this is excellent! I've been stuck with some old nvidia drivers from Acer website (which are now removed) without a chance of upgrading. Everytime i tried installing from the nvidia website i had somekind of problem. I've got an old 820m, do you think the 860m drivers would work too? Keep up the good work!
Yeah. Kepler will work some people are now reporting that latest drivers dont work anymore so you could try few versions older which will still be a miles better than those on your old site.

Hello, i have Nvidia GeForce 330m, i have played Dota2 without any issue just before the last Steam Dota2 update, now the screen render is going nuts, it is changing the brightness light and dark randomly and it is allmost unplayable, the GPu is good enough forr me for 720p low settings at 40-50fps. The issue is due to the old drivers and Nvidia is not supporting this GPU for newer drivers than 342.01. I am not that good for doing this hack for the drivers, i have tried and failed a few times, could you help me out and make that text document for my driver and tell me which exact driver should i download so i can just copy-paste the text file and get the newer drivers installed? Does not work.... When I search for the HWID of the GPU, in which we had copied the second line from the device manager, it finished with 0 results, it does not find any file containing it... This does not work guys as of 08.2023. Dont waste your time.
Some people below reported it works if you go and use a bit older drivers, some reported that it still works. If you're 100% you did did everything correct, I would double check just to make sure otherwise it could be patched I guess.
Yes, I've done everything step for step, and even multiple times, just to confirm it does not work. It simply does not find any file within the "Display Driver" section of the Nvidia Installer, no file which contains the HWID of my GPU. is it possible to modify the drivers to install on an old version of windows (1703 specifically) I need to get a 3070 working on a system that MUST stay on 1703 because issues with any newer update breaks compatibility of the other software on the system. (can't use remotefx after 1703)
The last gtx860m driver v472 works perfect with my gtx880m. But the gtx860m v5xx driver does not work. Is there a way for work v5xx driver? Many games need Nvidia v5xx driver.
Ahh I was following until the point of opening the new driver folder and finding the nvaio.inf file, but it doesn't exist, even in the older driver you were using at the time. So FYI, this does not work with the 775m as the inf file is missing from the new driver folder. Great tutorial though, just disappointing I can't get it to work.
@@JustOneGuy I got my lines of code from the old drivers, but then you open the same ini file in the new driver directory which the equivilent no longer exists. The one you open is still there but I opened that and then theres no mention of the 775m
@@makegamemusic That's what I'm saying. The INF I open is not the same INF you have to open as different vendors use different INF's. You have to find yours. I advise you to download notepad++ and use search function in the folder and search all files at once for the mention of your GPU.
For me same thing still can't use the Nvidia...I have a 710M and after install latest driver 471.** In device manager it shows error code...any idea how can I fix the error 43?
@@JustOneGuymine it's still working likely in the Nvidia Inspector it appears and I can even overclock it...however when I installed the latest drivers which are not supported appears this error 43
Honestly I think it still works but people are clumsy and don't follow the instructions. OR it could be that it stopped working but I don't see how that could be since you literally just change text files and ID's of devices. It could be they changed the way the files are created and the way the ID's are taken but I am not smart enough to figure that out nor do I want to be thinking about that honestly. If you have 30 minutes I would advise you to go and try and do it yourself and if it works great otherwise I am sorry but I guess that's it for your GPU.
@@gnrtx-36969 Kepler could work... Try tweaking in a different way.. replace the architectural mapping and use notepad to eliminate the newer ones... Btw check which was the last update for Kepler and don't directly jump to 552 version
@@theanonymous5716 kepler cards don't support 5xx drivers the latest i could find was 475.14 which doesn't support this game Only way to play is by downgrading to specific driver

I should have worked but I just don't know what keeps making it fail at the final hurdle. I've used ddu to remove everything Nvidia. But I was able to install one without even modding it using the device manager. But I can't find Nvidia control panel.

You had to mess up the set up somewhere. And my drivers files are not necessarily the same because jt depends from vendor as well. Asus, msi, acer, dell, etc.
Were you able to do so? Afaik, 860M has had two releases, one with Maxwell architecture and the other with Kepler, and the latest driver for 860 is 536.67 - same goes for Pascal's GTX 1050. while for other Keplers (i.e. GTX 660 I got), it's 474.44. So theoretically speaking, 536.67 is still a viable driver for a Kepler architecture GPU, at least in one case scenario. I'm gonna try to mod the 536.67 driver for a GTX 660 as soon as I get some time.

@@JustOneGuy First, thank you for your mensage. My question is: Modify the INF file as you teach at your tutorial works perfectly to me with my two 870m (even the SLI works!). But after the driver 471.96, seems that all of them does not have the driver to Kepler GPUs work, so as the result the driver software can bê installed but the GPUs will not operate corretly because there is no code for them inside the driver. Could you verify If this os correct or is some mistake i'm doing ?
@@JustOneGuy I did It, modifying the new 496.49 driver downloaded for 860m (Maxwell). Using the same precedure is possible to complete the installation but the gpu (870m) did not be recognized by S.O. I supose the Kepler generation have no code no more inside the new drivers and the version 471.96 will be the last possible upgrade to Kepler GPUs. Can you confirm this conclusion is correct ?
when i modified newest version of nvidia drivers 511 to work on my gtx760 i that i suceeded but once i installed it it just gave ne an yello error icon in device manager but this does work when i modify older gpus driver upto i think its version 471 or so but obove that it just doesnt do you any good for me this is quite useless on my gtx 760 but is perfect for those old geforce 210 gt 430 g6000 and so on i tried this with all devices i could so far only my 760 failed to the latest obviously but yea
oh and why do poeple use this method if u could just use nvclean install to add your gpu id to any version of nvidia drivers well exept higher than 471 but yea
I have to laugh at you constantly calling people stupid when you kept bouncing around the instructions yourself. So much that you seemed to confuse me more than when I read the instructions myself. Lol The biggest reason people usually do this sort of thing is to gain features they did not have such as installing GTX 780 desktop driver for the GTX 780M which limited many of the features. Or better yet, actually create somewhat updated drivers for the Geforce Go 6800 Ultra which seems that Dell quit making the drivers for all the way back in 78.something and there are no direct NVidia drivers for.

Guys, I advise you to update your windows to at least Windows 8.1/10 in order to install the most recent driver possible that your graphics card can take. Preferably windows 10. Many of the most recent drivers from 2022 till date may not even be supported on windows 8/8.1.

Even having million subs usually means nothing as you won't get enough money to get anything substancial. I was thinking many times to just delete my whole RUclips channel but I know it helped many people so I didn't. I get absolute nothing from these views but a bit of seratonin.
Any ads you might see are there because RUclips put them there even though I will earn absolutely nothing from it. Those few hours that take to record a video and edit it are wasted on videos as I have life to take care of and a job and what not. Basically anything is better than this.
The gratitude you sometimes get is absolutely absymal and it even sometimes comes as far as insults and saying negative things so you can get easily discouraged to even bother making any quality content. In my case it completes the installation, but as soon as I restart the computer and enter the device manager, the message with the error (code 43) appears. And the Nvidia control panel does not appear. I use the GT 630 Synergy Zotac
Try older version, otherwise it could be they truly killed it and you're unable to do this anymore.

I didn't know anything of this was possible, this is excellent! I've been stuck with some old nvidia drivers from Acer website (which are now removed) without a chance of upgrading. Everytime i tried installing from the nvidia website i had somekind of problem.

Yeah. Kepler will work some people are now reporting that latest drivers dont work anymore so you could try few versions older which will still be a miles better than those on your old site.

Hello, i have Nvidia GeForce 330m, i have played Dota2 without any issue just before the last Steam Dota2 update, now the screen render is going nuts, it is changing the brightness light and dark randomly and it is allmost unplayable, the GPu is good enough forr me for 720p low settings at 40-50fps. The issue is due to the old drivers and Nvidia is not supporting this GPU for newer drivers than 342.01. I am not that good for doing this hack for the drivers, i have tried and failed a few times, could you help me out and make that text document for my driver and tell me which exact driver should i download so i can just copy-paste the text file and get the newer drivers installed? Thank you in advance, my 2nd line of the hardware ID for the GPU in device manager is: CI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A29&SUBSYS_C06A144D

Does not work.... When I search for the HWID of the GPU, in which we had copied the second line from the device manager, it finished with 0 results, it does not find any file containing it... This does not work guys as of 08.2023. Dont waste your time.
Some people below reported it works if you go and use a bit older drivers, some reported that it still works. If you're 100% you did did everything correct, I would double check just to make sure otherwise it could be patched I guess.
Yes, I've done everything step for step, and even multiple times, just to confirm it does not work. It simply does not find any file within the "Display Driver" section of the Nvidia Installer, no file which contains the HWID of my GPU. So, the rest of the steps can not be followed properly...

is it possible to modify the drivers to install on an old version of windows (1703 specifically) I need to get a 3070 working on a system that MUST stay on 1703 because issues with any newer update breaks compatibility of the other software on the system. (can't use remotefx after 1703)

Ahh I was following until the point of opening the new driver folder and finding the nvaio.inf file, but it doesn't exist, even in the older driver you were using at the time. So FYI, this does not work with the 775m as the inf file is missing from the new driver folder. Great tutorial though, just disappointing I can't get it to work.
Its not in same location. Nvaoi is for asus laptops and their vendors. If you dont have same vendor its a different file.

@@JustOneGuy I got my lines of code from the old drivers, but then you open the same ini file in the new driver directory which the equivilent no longer exists. The one you open is still there but I opened that and then theres no mention of the 775m
@@makegamemusic That's what I'm saying. The INF I open is not the same INF you have to open as different vendors use different INF's. You have to find yours. I advise you to download notepad++ and use search function in the folder and search all files at once for the mention of your GPU.

When I had that error it was when my 880m GPU died now I am not saying yours is the same but considering how old it is it could very likely be.

Honestly I think it still works but people are clumsy and don't follow the instructions. OR it could be that it stopped working but I don't see how that could be since you literally just change text files and ID's of devices. It could be they changed the way the files are created and the way the ID's are taken but I am not smart enough to figure that out nor do I want to be thinking about that honestly.
If you have 30 minutes I would advise you to go and try and do it yourself and if it works great otherwise I am sorry but I guess that's it for your GPU.

I should have worked but I just don't know what keeps making it fail at the final hurdle. I've used ddu to remove everything Nvidia. But I was able to install one without even modding it using the device manager. But I can't find Nvidia control panel.

You had to mess up the set up somewhere. And my drivers files are not necessarily the same because jt depends from vendor as well. Asus, msi, acer, dell, etc.

Afaik, 860M has had two releases, one with Maxwell architecture and the other with Kepler, and the latest driver for 860 is 536.67 - same goes for Pascal's GTX 1050. while for other Keplers (i.e. GTX 660 I got), it's 474.44. So theoretically speaking, 536.67 is still a viable driver for a Kepler architecture GPU, at least in one case scenario. I'm gonna try to mod the 536.67 driver for a GTX 660 as soon as I get some time.

But after the driver 471.96, seems that all of them does not have the driver to Kepler GPUs work, so as the result the driver software can bê installed but the GPUs will not operate corretly because there is no code for them inside the driver. @@JustOneGuy I did It, modifying the new 496.49 driver downloaded for 860m (Maxwell). Using the same precedure is possible to complete the installation but the gpu (870m) did not be recognized by S.O. I supose the Kepler generation have no code no more inside the new drivers and the version 471.96 will be the last possible upgrade to Kepler GPUs. Can you confirm this conclusion is correct ?

when i modified newest version of nvidia drivers 511 to work on my gtx760 i that i suceeded but once i installed it it just gave ne an yello error icon in device manager but this does work when i modify older gpus driver upto i think its version 471 or so but obove that it just doesnt do you any good for me this is quite useless on my gtx 760 but is perfect for those old geforce 210 gt 430 g6000 and so on i tried this with all devices i could so far only my 760 failed to the latest obviously but yea

I have to laugh at you constantly calling people stupid when you kept bouncing around the instructions yourself. So much that you seemed to confuse me more than when I read the instructions myself. Lol The biggest reason people usually do this sort of thing is to gain features they did not have such as installing GTX 780 desktop driver for the GTX 780M which limited many of the features. Or better yet, actually create somewhat updated drivers for the Geforce Go 6800 Ultra which seems that Dell quit making the drivers for all the way back in 78.something and there are no direct NVidia drivers for.
