Just picked mine up today and I’m very pleasantly surprised. I think this would pair up very well with the Superblast 2. Feels like I can pick up the pace for some longer tempo runs, but it’s a bit more forgiving and softens up when I slow down for an easy run. Can’t believe there isn’t more hype surrounding these shoes. Honestly, went to an adidas store for socks and shorts and wasn’t expecting to add new shoes to my rotation, but the shoes just felt too good. The color way on the ones I got were nice, light colors to keep my feet cool when it’s sunny and increase visibility in the dark.
You "sold" me the SL2, and I'm happy with them😅. Managed to buy 14 pairs last year, so I guess I got some work to wear them out😂. Even my Pro3 takes time to wear out. Damn Adidas for making to good shoes😂.
@suranperera4620 Only got 1 pair of Pro3, but have run 2 marathons, 2 1/2 marathons and 1 10K in them so far. I've actually grinded more km in Asics the last 6-7 month. And over 600km in one pair of Superblast 2 alone. They are divine🤩.
@@MusicChristo I've one pair of AP3 on the go and another 2 pairs. Only heard good things on the Superblast. Good thing for my wallet that they're usually out of stock! Trying to decide on a daily trainer right now - between the NB5 and EVO SL - so many good shoes!
@suranperera4620 impressive! But you have to really work hard getting rid of them to "deserve" a pair of Pro4 then😅. I've got a brand new pair (bought early December) of Asics metaspeed edge waiting for a spring competition. They seem to not be as durable solewise as Pro3 so can't spend them on a lousy gravelrace😂
How would the stability in this rate compared to like the Tempus? I know a poor comparison but the Tempus is my current daily and I need some stability.
@@suranperera4620 the EVO SL is a tempo shoe meant for running faster. I would use the NB5 for what I use the Adizero SL2: Easy runs and a shoe that can do a bit of everything but meant to daily easy miles. I keep my EVO SL for tempo, fartleks, even speed workouts.
What i am worried about is its heels outsole. I saw some of this shoe review where the heel inner side easily broke apart due to the outsole is not fully rubbered.
Well… these shoes when they 1st came out were sent to me by adidas on a 30 day trial, did a few runs 10/12k and felt quite nice, then started to get a little forefoot pain so had a extra rest day and had a day in my superblast as never gives me issues, back in the prima the day after and seemed ok , two days later another 12k and forefoot pain re started so examined the shoe, took out the insert and there was a circular hole under the for foot the size of a 50 pence piece. These runs imho started my forefoot problem that being a planter plate strain and 6 mths later I’m still dealing with complications caused from the PPS… adidas got a full on flea in their ear and I’m hoping they took note and filled in the bloody hole 😢
@@FordyRuns yes wow, another ultrasound yesterday showed another area of concern steming form the plantar plate... pissed off beyond belief and I'm trying to keep going with a prep for London.
Already getting it for about £70 here in India even though it hasn't even arrived in stores around me. Thinking of getting one. Is it a true to size or is it like the SL2 for which I had to go a full size up? Don't have half sizes on discount.
@@Myke001 SL2 is absolutely garbage and it is very dangerous to recomment it to a beginner. if you are a light and sporty beginner runner, then no problem. But if this is a heavier folk which pronates, then the thin and unstable SL2 are for nothing.

14 is a lot of pairs! I loaded up on Pro 3s at Black Friday, really liking Adidas shoes too.

German engineering 👏 Nice video Fordy!
Thank you
I think the outsole is Lighttraxion not Continental, but I've been on the lookout for some new daily trainers and these look really good
ship them in

Asking becus I think my next shoe is gonna be the new Hurricane for recovery.
I’d say get the puma forever run 2
@@FordyRuns you like that better than the Tempus?
@@FordyRuns there is no #2 of that shoe - yet.
What about the Saucony Shift 3?
Need to compare it to SL2 Obvs. Cheers
SL2 is a belter and a faster feeling shoe... this is one to long in and those easy miles
This shoe just eats up miles without being overly exciting. The Dreamstrike+ just gets better with time. Good solid shoe.
@@FordyRuns - Struggling to decide between the NB5 and EVO SL (if I could get it). Do like the Lightstrike Pro.

Boston 12's have been my daily trainer for a year now and they're consistently excellent
wow

@@franc9220 yep boston 12's are excellent, have two pairs in summer and winter colorways...like you have to have a winter colour in the UK LOL
I had to cut EVA discs to patch up the holes and that did the trick. Makes no sense at all.

Yep true to size for me
Unfortunately that colour way is at full price on Start Fitness, need to go for the Grey to get a real bargain at the moment
All depends on stock levels enjoy
Have you tired the sauciony ride 17 ?
Yeah it’s boring
Would these make a good choice for an absolute beginner, just looking to run 5k without stopping? As I've been looking at the SL2. TIA
Yes
@FordyRuns thanks 👍🏾

This vs Novablast 5?
NB5
Thanks mate good stuff. BTW your goal pace is also what I’m aiming for at my first London Marathon this year, hope to see you there Chris 👍
Anyone know what a forgiving shoe is ?
These
It doesn't get upset when you have been putting your feet in other shoes.
@@FordyRuns What, even if your not Catholic ?
Unfortunately only in the UK, not on the continent. It's not cheap.
thats a shame
not sure the rubber is continental rubber
Yeah maybe wrong either it’s all good
I guessed it
Hero
This way to heavy. Even for just basic slow training.
I don’t mind it … whatever you do don’t buy the Nike peg premium if weight an issue
