- Requested once upon a time long ago by RainsALotInMyHead. Actually, it's almost been a good YEAR (it was requested around the end of September 2009, iirc). It's also been asked for by a few others...
Anyway, Norma is Norma. Norma is Bubbles, and far from NormaL. Her artes/eres are standard spell caster material, though she has probably the most use as backup for anyone that plays Legendia. Not only does she have powerful spells, but she has Revive, which is the only all-party healing move you get in the game. Not to mention she has all-party buffs, which is also exclusive to her. While Will is usually deemed useless by the end of the game, I tend to find his abilities complement Norma perfectly. Shirley tends to spend too much time ignoring anyone but Senel, and having Grune is overkill. Norma's low intelligence but high versatility compliments Will's high intelligence and lower practicality. Oh, did I mention she has 2 of the best incantations in the series? (G. Dasher and T. Beam, IMO FYI).
But yea, in all honesty Norma is the backbone of the Legendia party. She cracks some jokes, throws around some nicknames, and basically keeps everyone from becoming emo-bots for most of the game (Moses and Grune excluded). I guess life of the party would be an understatement, in retrospect.
I usually yap about VA's, but I can't stand hearing Kaori Mizuhashi's Norma. It just sounds really odd after hearing Bubbles in English for so long.
...perhaps RM3 will change my mind \o/

I always love hearing her say the super classic oddly long Tales arte incantations. Dunno why, her usual laidback attitude and spunky voice saying all those poetic and huge words is charming
Blizzard is my favorite. I always hear it coming and do a little smile when it happens. Sometimes I even say with her.
Oddly long? It’s the current ones that are too short.
there should have been a skit where Moses asks Norma why the heck she uses that as a weapon (Straws) and Norma blows bubbles in his eyes.
I don't remember how long ago I found this, but she is my all time favorite character in the Tales of series. Second place is Rita Mordio
her speaking speed of some of those incantations makes rita's blah blah blah seem slow, was thinking she would after saying spell name spend time catching her breath :D

legendia gets a bad rap for the back step in the battle system but the voice acting, music and graphics are above the standard that the "tales" games were at that time...i want to let's play this game so bad, to share this great game that has fallen to the ranks of tempast in some peoples eyes
the voice acting hits and misses, usually more hits though. Senel and Chloe's performances sound so deadpan sometimes it's painful to listen to and Jay just doesn't sound how he looks at all. I thought he would sound more childish, not like some tattoo artist. Overall though it's great. Shirley VA is top notch :)

@wheelalligator I heard her urns are quite powerful, if a bit slow, so she has some defensive ability. Mind you an urn would probably be a better last resort weapon then a pen, or a straw. I just thought of Grune as being the pure offensive mage of the game. She did need some spell variety though. At least one earth and lightning attack!
@kingofcupcakes It's actually two songs (with the same melody), but I actually deleted them awhile ago from the looks of it. All I know is that they're from the Kyou Kara Maou!~ Hajimari no Tabi Gakudan soundtrack.
@Nate35819 I've been planning to, but haven't gotten around to them yet. I have half of Shirley, Jay, and Grune's recorded, I just need to get the rest and put them together.

@seanbig999 Oh wow, that's exactly the same conclusion I came to, though I used other characters dubbed by Cup of Tea Productions (namely Salsa and March from Eternal Sonata) as my leverage.
Indeed it's so obvious now. Norma's actress is Amy Gross (known in Eternal Sonata by the pseudonym Amy Rose).

@wheelalligator I know what you mean! The annoying thing is normally I would love playing as Grune, as she has several of my favorite spells in her arsenal (Aqua Laser, Ray, Judgement, Maelstrom, and one that looks like Holy Lance), but because the animation on all of them is so atrocious, I just feel cheated. I've actually come up with much much nicer animations by just fooling around in particle illusion, for lord's sake! I know I keep getting Extension confused with black hole.
Have you Done shirley's yet? or do you still plan too? Ive been meaning too see her strongest spell, but cant since my PS2 died....I heard it looks devestating.
Damn worm monsters that only appear in one section of the game....
@wheelalligator I know... like whats up with Grune's God Breath/Judgement? Maelstrom doesn't even look like a water spell. And Brilliant Lance is more Brilliant Toothpick. Seriously, its hard to play the game and enjoy the spell animations, when Eternia/.Destiny 2 and even Hearts have better spell effects.
At least Norma gets a fantastic Hi Ougi in ToTW3
I am happy with legendia. The spell is in common sense way. I mean no fullscreen lame OP ish spell

Thank god it compensates with everything else. This game definitely needs a remake! So good
Gabriel Duarte Very nostalgic. I think Legendia is one of the best in the series while having the superior ost. The OST is probably my favorite of all games.
