Excellent sarengi accompaniment, we are missing these days with the harmonium replacing the sarengi, may be due to a dearth of good players who might not be in demand for the performers to earn a nice livelihood as an accompanist to a vocalist.
Very difficult to learn and play but they are not rewarded

Sarangi exactly follows the Gayaki. It has the softness and presentation. Its sad that some Sarangi players could not give it the due dignity. Some of them took it to kothaas. Some of them always tried to clash with the main artists in the performances. This created a discredit to this wonderful instrument.
