I have three kids and a tilted uterus. I delivered them all direct OP, meaning that they were delivered face up versus face down. That also means that their hard little heads were against my tailbone while delivering. I tore up instead of back and I had the worst back labor ever. I never felt one contraction across my tummy, but my back felt like it was exploding!! It’s amazing how nature works!!!
@@albertagrownI admit, I'm confused...I've only had back pain with periods and most of my labor cramps were in my back. I thought that's how most people experience them. I don't think my uterus is tilted. 🤔
I had a very similar experience on Pitocin. I thought I was just having back pain from a foley balloon because I didn’t think I was feeling contractions. Glad I got the epidural because I was on pitocin for 20 hours before I had a C section.
I was diagnosed with back facing uterus. Went off the pill after 15 years. Was impregnated the 1st week. Just so you know. I was shocked. And so happy to become a 1st time Mom at 40 years old and again at 42 years old.
I have a retroverted uterus and never had a problem getting pg 4 kids and all healthy no complications ❤ hope that helps anyone scared or worried that having a ru makes it hard convincing or pg complications.
Yes! I had no issues GETTING pregnant, but both of my deliverers were horrible. The first was 3 weeks early and a detached placenta and the second a full month early and showing signs of another detached placenta. Horrible, horrible situations to be in. Blessed I am though, both my babies are here now young adults and smart, happy and healthy..
😮 girl one Dr said I had a tilted uterus randomly during an exam in first pregnancy second pregnancy so a Dr said I have a tilted uterus is asked 😂😂😂 they said what !?? 😅 I still am confused 😕🤔 like I guess maybe I do ❤
That’s so interesting! I have a retroverted uterus and have 6 (all planned) kiddos (technically three are adults) and I had Mirena IUDs between them and didn’t have problems with it moving…. Is that a common thing, because I’ve not seen that correlation and I’d be interested in knowing!?
My second one moved and got embedded into my uterine wall! God that was so painful. I had gotten PID from my first one in 2010 after I had my daughter.
I had 2, TERRIBLE back labor especially with the first because she decided she wanted to be face up for an hour or so... 🙄 Mostly it's only been a problem when having my Mirena IUDs inserted. Second one was absolutely traumatizing, took 3 "professionals" 4 attempts, the third was a man who recognized the tilt, had me adjust my position, then said condescendingly to the other 2 female (ARNP & midwife) "sometimes you just have to give it a good push" as he rams the insertion device up inside. Hubby said he heard me scream all the way out in the waiting room, knew it was me, and when i came out finally he almost went back inside the clinic to take out the doctor linebacker-style 😢 I've never seen him so angry before or since.
Sounds like my local hospital because they are (especially were) negligent AF, and had a very bad reputation. They were almost shut down due to it. (I think by the health dept or something). As an up and coming nurse I would NEVER work at my local hospital, many people have died there due to negligence.
Having an IUD inserted is painful period. I dont know why, but they just are. Usually your going to have people yelling and screaming, to some that will pass out from the pain. Im due to have a new one put in, and I'm dreading it. I cant use BC or the patches, or i would. I was reading an article about how painful IUDs are and how OBGYN should always either offer numbing cream, or offer light sedation. That would help a lot of people.
I could’ve answered that. I’m on my 7th pregnancy (6th live birth eventually/hopefully) and I just turned 30 😅 and for my 2 yr old ON TOP of having a tilted uterus, I hadn’t had a single period in the 3 yrs (almost 4) prior to his conception 😅 . You’re good momma! ❤
Have you ever had your placenta get stuck or settle and have to get removed manually? I have a tilted uterus and every time they have to pull it out. I hemorrhage so bad! Every time! It’s kinda annoying
During my first c-section, once my INCREDIBLE OB had gotten my baby boy out safely into this world and was stitching me back up after a VERY complicated pregnancy, she gasped and said, “you have a heart shaped uterus!” At the time I had been in labor for 17 hours (planned induction ending in emergency c-section) and was heavily drugged but my response was “it’s because I love him so much!!!” 😭 haha, but I had never heard of. A heart shaped uterus before that! I read it can cause difficulties in conceiving for some women, but for me it didn’t seem to have an impact, as my first was a surprise but my second happened only a cycle after stopping birth control! Every body is different, and I’m so grateful I had an OB like you that explained EVERYTHING to me and was my number one advocate throughout both my pregnancies, births, and beyond. She fought for my insurance to cover a tubal during my second c-section because she knew I was certain I was done having children after that, despite the fact I was in my mid twenties and most doctors wouldn’t agree to it. Absolutely my favorite doctor EVER - she reminds me so much of you!

I had 3 children with a very retro flexed uterus. I had irritable uterus lots of Braxton hicks but very fine otherwise! Got pregnant no problems! God bless all❤ ps last 2 were at age 40 and 43
Retroverted uterus & PCOS - only one pregnancy ever and ended up with twins. Let me just say my PCOS was a much bigger issue for fertility. I have also since learned that for PCOS even a 10-15% reduction in body weight can allow for ovulation to happen & possibly more than one mature egg!
I’ve had three Healthy Babies with a tilted uterus. The only negative effect it has is that the placenta gets stuck every time. But now my care providers know to be ready, I hemorrhage very quickly until they pull the placenta out other than that it hasn’t affected negatively. Apart from having about back pain in labor, but that is to be expected. lol
When pregnant with my first kid, I was told my tilted uterus might make it harder to get pregnant, but since I already did that part not to worry too much about it. It did take longer to get pregnant the second time, but in our case positioning was the variable that solved the equation. Baby #2 should arrive any day now.
What did you do that made you end up getting pregnant? I’m trying to conceive this is my second month trying I was told I have a tilted uterus w my first
@paige2337 Well, at the time we were trying for our first kid, I had an app that I used to document my cycle and fertility journey since we were actively trying to get pregnant. Within two months I was pregnant, but then when the second pregnancy didn't happen as easily I looked back at the app and saw what position we had used and then suggested to my husband we try to replicate it and low an behold it worked. I was sick to my stomach one week later and didn't need a pregnancy test to tell me the news.
Newly married was told very pregnancy would be difficult if not impossible with misshapen uterus. Happy to say they were wrong,3 babies later with no medical assistance
3 kids with a tilted uterus. All typical births…just the first one was back labor (so glad that didn’t happen with the other two) and the youngest is a preemie due to, the best they could find, was potentially the start of placental abruption
Currently on third pregnancy and had two normal deliveries and I have a tilted womb the only affect it had was giving birth with my leg open in a different position ❤
I have a heart shaped uterus & was told its pretty rare. Also called a bicornate uterus I believe its called & was told itd be harder to get pregnant after having 3 miscarriages. Good news i had a daughter & she turned 2 last month 😍☺️
Mom of 4 here! Sure you can get pregnant with a tilted uterus. Only thing different in my case was that I had more back pain during pregnancy and back labor during birth.

Don't blame yourself...I don't think not being pregnant have to do with the position of your uterus...I have same pregnant two times in two months because I had miscarriage the first baby in like 2weeks I think because the heavy work I do and extreme stress but the doctor told me being stressed and lifting heavy things has nothing to do with me losing my baby. Anyways I am pregnant now 31 weeks with a tilted uterus. So you can get pregnant. I pray God will bless you with a child
My friends mom was told her whole early life she would never be able to have children because if this by her DOCTOR. She had ten beautiful healthy babies
I had cancer when I was 3 … and so I had to have my kidney removed . And doctors at the time told my mother it wouldn’t be recommended for me to have a baby and it’ll be very hard for me to carry thruout … what do you think ? Like do you think I’ll be fine ?

What do you suggest for those who have unexplained infertility? All test come back normal. HSG, sperm analysis, ultrasound, and fine Clomid for 3 months.
I was told I possibly have a duplicated cervix- multiple years after my first & only birth - emergency cesarean due to complications of placenta previa, but could the cervix issue still be something to be concerned about?
I have a tilted uterus. Found this out during annual doctors visit. How does this happen? I had an accident at the playground at 7yr while climbing the jungle gym. Would that cause a tilted uterus?
After my first child i was told it would be next to impossible for me to get pregnant again and i probably wouldnt have any more because of how tilted my uterus was. Ive had 3 more since and 3 tubals😂.
I have 6 kids , oldest two are twins. I have a tilted pelvis. I must be really fertile though 😅 I had a tubal reversal and had two kids with VERY short tubes and a tilted uterus❤

It’s so cool - the body, it’s amazing. Shouldn’t affect fertility. You’ll either carry the pregnancy on the left side or the right side. One of my favorite patients has a bicornate. 2 pregnancies on her left side. Now she’s pregnant on the right side! So cool!
I have a tilted uterus among other issues and would like to get pregnant but I just turned 40 and I don’t know if I ovulate but I do get my monthly regularly. It’s so cool - the body, it’s amazing. Shouldn’t affect fertility. You’ll either carry the pregnancy on the left side or the right side. One of my favorite patients has a bicornate. 2 pregnancies on her left side. Now she’s pregnant on the right side! So cool!
Sometimes you will end up with early labor but I think that's the only caution
How do you know if you have one?
Is the term tipped and tilted the same?
Answers to questions I didn't ask.
You’re not the only person bud. 😂
I found out i had a tilted uterus in 2017. 17 years after giving birth. My doctor said i was probably born with it like that. Who knew? 🤷🏽♀️
I have a tilted uterus among other issues and would like to get pregnant but I just turned 40 and I don’t know if I ovulate but I do get my monthly regularly. My other issues are endometriosis, fibroids, and ovarian cyst. I have one fallopian tube which is scarred. Is there any hope or should I just give up on it.
I got pregnant at 40 with a tilted uterus and endometriosis. I had a great pregnancy and a perfect little boy. Keep trying! Sending you positive mommy vibes. ❤
If you truly want it, don't give up
