  • Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways
    Coming up
We pay our 2nd visit to The Bodmin & Wenford Raiway.
We start at Bodmin General the main head quarters were we have a look round the station.
We see the arrival of resident 46xx class pannier tank 4612 arriving from Boscarne Junction completing the 1st round trip of the day.
We join her train for the run to Bodmin Parkway ready for the run up the bank from parkway.
A few days prier we have seen how Telford Steam Rly based 5619 handle the bank now it was time to see how the pannier tank got on.
The pannier performed magnificently on the steep grade to Bodmin General which tuck just over 17 mins from a standing start.
Soon we arrived back at Bodmin General were we see the pannier run round ready for the run to Boscarne Junction while the pannier was getting water there was a coach swap as the cream tea special was running aswell.
Soon we set off down the bank to Boscarne. Were the pannier would run round ready for the run up the bank. The climb was more than impressive with the sound of her working hard echoing next to the row of houses next to the line.
After once again running round at Bodmin General we leave for the mainline connection at Parkway were we leave the train.
We finish this video with 4612 departing for Bodmin General with the last train of the day from Bodmin Parkway.
Thanks for reading enjoy the film

Always enjoy your videos, if people don't like steam railways what's the point in watching them. I find them very relaxing personally so ignore the comment below. The B & W is my local preserved line. It's not very long and steeply graded up to Bodmin station. It's been a while since I last travelled on it and they appear to have done a lot of work at the Bodmin Parkway end since I last rode the train, although I did pop in for a cuppa in March this year at the tea shop there. Keep up the good work.

Long time since I travelled on that railway. The loco sounds mechanically tired. I remember the gradient was very steep down to the main line.
