    Thanks for sharing all the different testing you do and pass along. I think what appears to me in this test was the difference between the different ammo was quite apparent. Although they were all good precision rounds, it was still noticeable. Keep shooting and sharing.

    I will never shoot competition but I did purchase a CZ 457 American for plinking and small game hunting !
    I have to say the CZ 457 whether it’s a bull barrel or not favors similar ammo for accuracy !
    My rifle is capable of shooting sub MOA at 100 yards with the right ammo and conditions !
    I have done nothing to the rifle other than picking what ammo shoots the best !
    Enjoyed your video on ammo selection ! 👍

    Thanks for all your testing! I'm also owning a CZ457 MTR with 20 inch barrel using mostly SK Long Range. I experienced huge differences between the „lots“ of the same brand of ammo. The are caused by minimal variations within the production process. You can find the lot Number on the package.
    If I’m running out of ammo, I drive to the SK ammo testing center (150 km away from Berlin where I live).
    There the SK-Ammo-Test-guy fixes the CZ457 chassis and shoots 10-shot groups of at least 5 different production lots of the SK Long-Range. If two promising lots have been found, further testing within these lots will be carried out. At the end, a can buy rounds for the next months from this specific lot.
    The group sizes for 50 m distance can vary from 12mm up to 28 mm (outside to outside).
    What I had to learn: Exclude the human factor by fixing mechanically the chassis/barreled action and have in mind, that not all production lots give the best results with your specific weapon-build.
    I’ve just seen, that such a Lapua test center is located in Ohio:

      I have wanted to go to the Lapua testing range for a couple years and I finally went to 11/1/2022. I’ll have a video of what I think I learned from the experience out shortly. Thanks for sharing, I would have like to be able to test SK ammo.

      As an Elmer Keith fan, I've appreciated the performance of flat nose bullets on game. .22s can be finicky on performance on game unless you use HPs. Flat noses lay the smackdown on critters that round noses don't.

      @@stevecochran9078 Hi Steve yes but i used 90% on paper targets and 10 % on grouse and rodents , since SK don't make the flatnose any more i bought 6 different Eley 22lr and the high velocity hp took the cake which was really happy . 👍

    May want to try shooting the target upright it seems to me going side to side would be easier then adjusting up and down??

    • @AimSmallMissSmall_TV

      The way I shoot with the bipod and rear bag shooting by column is definitely the better way to shoot. I hope to cover this in later videos but it is easier to keep a consistent hold navigating up/down or bottom/up

      @@AimSmallMissSmall_TV Oh okay, I was just thinking about how I shoot and was thinking that elevation change vs side change seems harder especially with a stock that might make it difficult, we all shoot different and have to do what works for each of us. :)

      You are right. If I could get used the my joy pod side by side would be my first choice. For me since I am not used to the Joypod sticking with how I normally Shoot still a work in progress with this rifle.

      @@AimSmallMissSmall_TV Someone needs to design a "no play" shooting system that rotates with a finite lock off system. Am unsure if they would be allowed for competition though.

    What method did you find best for barrel cleaning with this rifle?

    • @AimSmallMissSmall_TV
      @AimSmallMissSmall_TV  Год назад +1

      I have to admit, I am still trying to find a method the I am happy with. Currently I like sending a couple of very wet patches down the barrel using Boretech Carbon Remover and let set for as long as possible or at least for 30 minutes. Then send a couple dry patches through. Retreat till clean. Confirm being clean by sending a patch of Boretech Rimfire Blend through the barrel. I clean the action with cotton swab (wish I have something better but for now this seems to work the best for me) using the Carbon Remover.
      During a match I only use Hoppe’s #8 one wet and two dry and usually the felt pellets.
      I hope this helps

      I have a Bergara B14r. I will be doing videos shortly on that rifle. I have had a for about 6 months I have shot it, maybe 500 rounds. When I bought it of course I was not planning on shooting the ARA with it but now maybe I will. In the couple of weeks I’ll try to have a shooting video released.

      It groups well in my B-14R too, i've tried several different rounds, eg Target Match, Long Range and offerings from Eley and Geco, all mid range ammo from their respective range but i always go back to the SK Standard Plus.
      They also performed the best in my CZ too.

    when you shoot ARA match, do you clean or push a patch through the barrel?

    • @samw2768
      @samw2768 2 года назад

      Most match shooters clean in-between cards. Run a wet and 2 dry patches seems to keep it in line. I do a c4 clean by boretech to keep the carbon ring in check. When it's fully clean it takes a few more rounds for it to come in. Would a factory barrel benefit from being cleaned after every card? I have no idea but it does keep things consistent.

    • @AimSmallMissSmall_TV
      @AimSmallMissSmall_TV  2 года назад

      I run a dry cotton bullet is through the barrel. If my shooting starts to fall apart I’ll run a wet patch and run cotton cotton or patch till clean. This usually will happen during a match. Of course it will take 5 or 10 rounds till I start shooting scoring targets again.

    Lmfao once again excluding fliers from the group is not how you do it. You get absolutely nothing out of excluding fliers. Your data is skewed based on that simple fact. Man those groups are not what you say. Fliers are part of the groups 🤣. You guys blow my mind. I shoot ara unlimited and this is a joke

    • @AimSmallMissSmall_TV
      @AimSmallMissSmall_TV  2 года назад

      Hang in there maybe my logic will make since when it comes to a conclusion. I believe or am hoping sorting will eliminate the flyers. Flyers are inevitable, I believe if I can shoot several good groups with a specific ammo I can either weed out the flyers or work on my shooting challenges to work out the flyers.
      I eliminate the flyers from my testing with the belief I can eliminate some of them again by either improving my shooting or sorting. If I fail to do that and I picked good ammo, the flyers will be 50’s not 25 or worse. If I get 2 or 3 50’s in a match you are going to finish top 3 if not #1.
      I should have explained this to the viewer earlier but this is a series that will come to the expected concluding.
      I appreciate your comments, I am not sure what LMFAO is but it doesn’t see to be a friendly Hello to start a message. My goal is to improve my shooting and share the journey, I believe I state that every few videos, I do not claim to be an expert shooter and I ask for input from those who want to share and help myself and other become better shooter and continue to enjoy this sport we choose to be involved in.
