"She will remember your heart when men are fairy tales in books written by rabbits. Of all unicorns, she is the only one who knows what regret is - and love."
If you didn’t read the book.. Schmendrick was cursed to be immortal until he became a true wizard, and when he finally achieved that he would finally begin to age like a mortal. Meaning he could finally die like everyone else. He’s presented as a young man, but the truth of it is he’s been trapped as a young man for a very long time, cursed for being inept. That’s why the ending of the movie hurts so much, at least for me. “You are a true wizard now, as you always wished. Does it make you happy?” “Well.. men don’t always know when they’re happy but.. I think so.”
caleviwin theres a lovely young lady who read it out here on RUclips years ago, If you just look up ‘the last unicorn audiobook’ you should find it! I definitely recommend it, there’s a lot more to all of the characters than they were able to convey in the movie.
Everytime I watch this movie I cry like a baby when she's a Unicorn again and says to Lear "I remember you!". Even now!!! Damn onion-cutting ninjas!!! This movie is too much for me to handle without tears.
Instant crying. Those Oboes at the end 1:58 ... those... everything. We are blessed by more quality than any medieval king that ever reigned. The best of the best play for us whenever we need them.
I am a little afraid to go home I have been mortal and some part of me is mortal still for no unicorn was ever born who could regret Then I have done you evil and I cannot undo it No unicorns are in the world again no sorrow shall live in me save one and I thank you for that as well farewell good magician I will try to go home now
@@caleviwin Not really. The Last Unicorn was released November 19, 1982. Their last Top 10 on the Hot 100 was "You Can Do Magic", which was released July 6, 1982. Prior to that song, they hadn't had a Top 40 hit since "Today's The Day" in 1976.

The unicorns are in the world again. No sorrow will live in me as long as that joy. Save one. And I thank you for that part too...
Farewell good Magician, I will try to go home....

I really need to read the book because that adds so much more to his character.

October Sky by Eric Whitacre also gives me the feels too, and the outros always kill it for me.
Lir was such a good guy, :,(
