There's an Andy Sneap trick for the hard panned guitar issue. If you quad tracked, leave one side with both guitars on, on the other side just leave your -8db supporting guitar. It works really well, still sounds like one guitar but stops the complete silence on the other speaker.
My favorite 'non-Skolnick' record. It always hits, and the fact that it is nearly 30 years old is mind blowing. I had a ticket to see them on that tour, but alas they cancelled the show in Dallas I was set to see. DOH!
Josh, speaking of Rectifiers... Have you gotten your hands on one of the new Mesa 90's Dual Rectifier Reissue heads? Mine came in Tuesday, and this thing is absolutely killer! It's a mix somewhere between my early 1992 Rev-F (MK-III ransfomrers) and my 1999 Triple Rec (Rev-G). If you haven't had a chance to mess with one yet, get Mesa to send you one. I'd love to see a review video on it, with your thoughts and your level of of playing skills (all the other videos on YT don't do it justice, other than Ola's video on it). It really throws me back to the old days with all that articulate and focused Rev-F snarl and aggression, but with the rich fuller sound and headroom of my 1999 Triple Rec (Rev-G).. It's a very cool voicing. I think you'd enjoy it with your style of music and your tone preferences. Also, I preordered my JM-I last week, too. Will go great next to my JM-II and M-1001NT. 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼
@ If you’re at NAMM this week, I’m sure they have a booth where you can talk to some of the folks about it. The only people I know still at Mesa are Mike B. (repairs the old vintage Mesa amps, like mine), and Mollie in customer service. Mollie can probably get you in touch with the right people if you called and talked to her, she’s always super helpful. Hopefully you can get one, that would be an awesome review! 🤘🏼
Thanks for putting this together, Josh. Any chance you could walk us through how you programmed the bass for this song? I do not currently own the midi bass you are using here, but I have EZBass and feel like with some programming assistance I can get a sound like this. Anyway, thanks again. All the best.
Sounds killer! can i ask what your chain is for your kemper. Ive owned a kemper for years and feel like im always getting it wrong. Ive tried pretty much every chain ever imagined from my kemper direct to my interface ( Apollo Twin ) and my Clarett 4pre (for SPDIF connection) into my DAW (Cubase 14 pro) and still sounds not right to me. Fizzy cheap digital guitar sim. Ive been on the kemper forum for years trying to figure it out but still struggling. Any tips would be awesome.
Can't see why there would be any issue unless you have something going on in your output settings. Best thing is to find someone else who has a Kemper and borrow it, load up the same profiles. If sounds the same and you've tried different interfaces then I doubt anything is wrong
That riff at 32seconds.. sublime!!!
13:14 In Kontakt "save multi as" and that is it, it will load the one shot sample as well when you open it.

Sounds Testament 3 Days of Darkness inspired. That's a good thing. Especially for a recto demo.
It was deliberate. Good spot

Is this tone included in the Tonehub pack as well?
This is from the brand new Kemper pack. It would be achievable to dial this in with my Tonality plugin for sure

Why don't the first 3 packs sound like the videos on the kemper id love this but I can't get same tones 🤷♂️
Hey Josh, any chance to this get this pack for the Line 6 Helix?
For those of us that don’t have Kemper, but have your cab IR pack, which cab(s) are you using?
Cab 1 top right speaker is my favourite. Position 3. Not at home for a while so can't check this Kemper profile for exact cab/mic stuff right now
How often do you write a riff for these videos and go ‘fuck, nah, that’s for the album’?
Josh the riff f machine mdltone
Very Death sounding riffs. So sick dude!!
More like Testament sounding riffs( The Gathering era).
Decapitated
Oh yeah I can hear all that as well. It's just that Death stuck out at me right away with some of those intervals
When Sylosis in Brazil? s2
Yeah, when kkk
Sick Nickelback tone! JK lol
Josh's riffs look easy until you try to play them!😩
