    Zenobia: I felt a little bit bad in a playthrough where I kept her gobstones... But then again... I absolutely cannot understand why anyone (other than 9-year-old boys) would want to play a game that sprays you with smelly goo. Although the kids who bullied her by hiding her gobstones did overreact. They could have just declined to play in the first place.
    Duncan: I don't like bullying him. Nobody deserves their entire school life destroyed by one small act of cowardice. I do like to tease him and say I won't give him the leaf and then laugh and give it too him. The guy does need to face his fears. Also if this were a real situation I would make him come with me to the Herbology corridor. Sure it's dark and scary in there. Anyone would be a little nervous. Going in with a friend would make it less scary. What makes me hesitant to actually give him the leaf is that he didn't actually do anything! He earned the reputation of being a coward and then the player character just fixes it for him. I'm all for helping people, but this isn't helping! It's enabling a wimpy coward to continue to be a wimpy coward!
    Lenora: Can't believe anyone would have so much trouble solving those incredibly obvious puzzles. I did actually solve one of those before ever even meeting Lenora! LOL If this were real life, I would probably tease her about it a little bit, but it's just plain rude not to tell her the answer.
    Sophronia and the Hall of Herodiana: Only a real a**hole would refuse to show her the outfit. I see it as she's sort of the researcher who "Hires" the adventurer to find the artifact. Of course, she doesn't offer you money at first, but if you insist she will pay you.
    Cressida's diary: I'm sure anyone can relate to the horror of the threat of having the entire school know all of your private and personal thoughts.
    Grace Pinch-Smedly: I can somewhat understand asking for a reward or compensation of some kind, but what the heck are you going to do with a rusty old astrolabe that even if it weren't rusted beyond repair you probably wouldn't know how to use anyway?
    Nerida and the mermaids: Dummy needs to learn how to swim! Can't very well be a liaison to aquatic creatures if you can't swim. I understand wanting compensation for diving in the yucky lake, but there really is no point in keeping the artifact other than being a jerk. I guess it is pretty...
    Biscuit the Mooncalf: Logically the mooncalf would be safer in the room of requirement where no poachers could possibly get to it, but how could you be so cruel to that guy? When his eyes swell up like big saucers. You're stealing his pet and best friend. How would you feel if someone came along and stole your dog or something?
    Marianne and the Diricawl: I really did not want to give that woman the albino Diricawl. I'm sure she doesn't abuse it, but it's pretty clear that she's more interested in using the pretty feathers in her stupid "Fashion" than she is in the bird's actual welfare.
    Sabastian: I feel like Sabastian is not a bad guy. He just gets blinded by his desire to help Anne and he can't see anything else. Throwing him in Azkaban is only going to make him bitter and hateful. He'll either rot in there forever, or if he ever does get out he will be a hateful murderous psychopath.

    I don't think you'd have ever been given the option to do so, BUT when I first heard about the repository that held the embodiment of other people's pain, and knowing full well how dangerous it was, I actually wanted to destroy it.
    Think back to Mass Effect 3. Post extended cut, Destroy is the best ending imo as its the ONLY one where Shepard has even a CHANCE to survive, the ONLY one that doesn't involve either letting the Reapers win the war, forcibly altering everyone's DNA and possibly personalities too, or being under the eternal rule of a rouge AI. In other words, its the ONLY ending that lets everyone in the galaxy live their lives as they please just as they did before the invasion.
    Destroying the repository would prevent the entire situation with Ranrok from happening all over again. And the Keepers stress how dangerous it is given it embodies all of the pain and emotion forcibly taken from other people by Isadora. And its not like ancient magic would be gone, it existed before the repositories anyway.

      @Siggie after playing the game to 100% twice, there are no changes in dialog or outcome no matter what choices you make. The biggest disappointment for me was handing in my field guide to Professor Weasley. 1st play I was at 85%, she said I had done a lot, but there was still a large bit to complete before my OWLs. In the second play, I made sure to be at 100% before turning it in. She had the same exact dialog, saying there was more to do, even at 100% complete. Along with other parts of the game, I would pick one option and see the outcome. Reload the game and choose another option just to have the same things happen. Overall, they have made a good start, I think they do need to just skip DLC and move on to making a better second game. Now the world is made they just need to add to it

I know it relates to the message the game is going for, but if you think about it, it just means you are putting that decision on to the next person with ancient power that comes into existence... rather than creating a real solution for the issue such as creating a channel for ancient magic

    • @houndofculann1793
      @houndofculann1793 Год назад +1

      I agree. The game and the Keepers are also extremely vague about what's so bad with the power in the first place, aside from it being unknown and very strong. It feels extremely weird that all throughout the game all they ever say is "no, we don't know what it does so don't do it" as if that would ever satisfy anyone.
      The only real offenses Isidora is seen or told to do are taking _something_ out of Niemh without her consent and doing it to students, although the students are volunteers. But neither of these things tell the player anything about the consequences, or even what was taken from Niemh. The only thing that was unambiguously bad was Isidora's father being a mindless husk in the end but the game is also extremely vague about that too. Did Isidora go drunk with power and suck all emotions out of him, or did the one event of taking away his pain result in this state with time? Nobody knows but Isidora died because of it and according to the Keepers we're supposed to understand why.

I do usually help people, but I extort them for more galleons in return. I couldn’t keep Biscuit, it’s too cruel, so I asked for 500 galleons instead. I didn’t turn Sebastian in either.
