Ellie begins to play up trying to strike and refuses to stand still for me to mount- this unnerves me and I chose to go back to roundyard to start from scratch. Ellie is a very dominant mare- and if you dont deal with her behaviours immediately the next time you engage with her she will try to overpower you so I always try to work backwards until she gives a positive result then we go forward again. Groundwork is extremely important and consistency. Training horses is a constant workout. it never really ends- both the equine and human being can learn a lesson with every encounter.
