This video is the BEST explanation of Dementia brain disease Ihave come across; and I've researched Dementia EVERY DAY for last 3yrs when I began caring for a 91yr old. THANK YOU!!!!
My mom is 76 . She’s incontinence, hasn’t bathed in a year , mobility is extremely difficult, eating very little , UTI , always cold , shuffling, denies medical care , paramedics won’t take her as she refuses, she smells and hoarders . I am literally stuck as her primary who is now retired told me I have to wait till something bad happens because I can’t make her do anything.
This is the best description of the stages of dementia I have ever seen. I wish I had all this information at my fingertips when I was caring for my Alzheimers MIL in our home. I believe she was at the end of stage 4 when she moved in and had advanced to early stage 6 when we finally were too overwhelmed and she had to go into memory care and then hospice. Taking care of someone in late stage Alzheimers was probably the hardest thing I ever had to do. Thank you!
Physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted 💔. I have been my 85 year old moms sole caregiver for 5+ years without a single day off. Alzheimer’s is such a horrible, heartbreaking journey
(( HUGS )) I know how it feels to become fatigued and suffer from compassion fatigue. Press on, but also make time to take care of yourself. Practicing self-care is so important. ❤
