I love how this version of Raph actually has a consistent reason to get angry. 87 was just rude, 03 was angry for no reason, 2012 tried to give us the “he’s angry at the people hurting his brothers” reason but they abandoned that pretty early in the series, Rise makes him really chill but he cracks under pressure and gets easily frustrated when people don’t do things as efficiently as him. His anger isn’t some eternal force within him, it’s just something that comes with the fact that he’s REALLY bad under pressure, like real anger not being tied to itself but being a byproduct of varying emotions, for Raph it’s panic.
Yeah in this verse his anger comes either from worry or people doing something stupid that puts them at risk.
Yeah, I found I never liked Raph for his anger and that alone. But Rise Raph is a completely different story, the only time we see him completely lose it was when he was separated from his brothers, but other than that he hasn't been those regular Raph levels of angry. Whenever he seems to be pissed off, its made pretty clear its mostly worry that is driving him and not pure unnecessary rage with nothing behind it.

While they never give an exact reason why he's so angry one reason I heard was because unlike his brothers he seems to be the one who's fully grasped the fact that they are alone. They're the only ones of their kind in the world as far as they know and that they will never be welcomed or accepted in the outside world and have to stay in the sewers for their own protection. He clearly loves his family dearly but the idea that they will never be able to experience the world like any other person really weighs on him. But part of me thinks he doesn't voice those feelings because he doesn't want to point out how unfair it is to his family.

Raph is more focused but Leo is better at making plans hence why he was made leader, and Donnie has the most, but with fewer morals behind them.

Well in this verse they're all different breed of Turtles. Raph is a Snapping Turtle.
From what I understand. Only Leo and Donnie have identical builds because they're suppose to be the 'twins' of the group. Mikey is a bit shorter and slimmer than either of them.

This version of Raph is the superior. Has most of the brain cells, built like a tank, is angry but with a cause, supportive big brother, protective AF, and overall hilarious. We just don’t deserve him.

I love that this Raph isn't an angry hot headed turtle, he's a big brother who doesn't have all the answers as he feel like he should, worries for his brothers to the point of being over protective and the fact he is overall a goof ball at times.
But he still tries his best, he still tries to be the leader (to the point where his brothers follow him when needed and still look to him for answers), he's genuinely a good guy to be around and you would trust him and, like basically everyone else in the Hamato clan, he values family love above all else.
He's my favorite version so far.

This version of Raph is such a breath of fresh air. Having his rage be more out of loving concern for his brothers other than just sibling rivalry makes him my favorite turtle in this show when I'd put the other versions of Raph as my 3rd in most others.

I have never seen an older sibling character that is on the constant verge of a break down. Most of the time they're cool and collected and have a breakdown during the final scenes, but Raph has one every episode and that's how I am almost everyday.

I adore how Rise Raph only gets angry when he's really worried. Otherwise, he's the true epitome of a gentle giant. I affectionately refer to him as a tank with a marshmallow center. 😊

As a big brother who takes care of two i understand raph to a spiritual level
it's both a breath of fresh air and also weird seeing Ralph as the leader of the crew due to the past incarnations. With that said it does confirm that Splinter was right regarding Ralph's capability of being a leader
Splinter never assigned him as leader, Raph just assumed the role by himself since he's the oldest and physically biggest. It isn't until the end of season 2 that Splinter steps in to choose a leader for them.
I love when Raph gets his time to shine as a leader because it really does show that he can be a good leader, like he was in Rise of the TMNT.
@@Urube23 True. I, however, was making a reference to the TMNT animated movie in which Splinter explained that Ralph had the qualities to be one. This is further exemplified when Splinter in TMNT 2012 told leo that anyone of them could have been the leader (except Mikey).

Yes, constantly tell them to not do anything reckless. Yes, they are very stressful. Yes, try to encourage them to work out problems by themselves!

I love previous versions of Rapha especially the 2012 one, But between us I just FALL IN LOVE For this Rapha type, he represents most of the older brothers, always putting their individualities aside, always carrying the weight on his back always trying to be strong He is almost the male version of Luísa de encanted Even though she is not officially older, they are both physically strong but fragile, emotional and people around don't notice.

this being my first tmnt continuity, i cant say much about this raph vs the others. what i like about him is that he looks like he'd be a meathead type character, smash first ask questions later kind of guy. i think he'd actually sorta like to be a smash first questions later guy, because then he wouldn't be fretting over everything all the time ! raph's a big boy, but mostly he's a big brother. big body = big heart.. big arms for big hugs....

You know, Raph was never my FAVORITE turtle, not even close. That was always Mikey, no matter what. In other series, Raph was at least more interesting than Leo, but that only took him so far. I received 2012!Raph probably the worst.
But in RotTMNT, he is constantly competing for my favorite turtle, and it’s a struggle every week to decide who’s my favorite. I just, love him SO MUCH! He was given more than just being the angry one, and it’s a nice change of pace.
I swear, more people need to give Rise!Raph more love. He deserves the best, as well as a LONG, relaxing vacation. It’s usually Leo and Donnie I see getting more love, but Raph should have more, too. ESPECIALLY after the movie. That was just, oof. Poor Raph😞.
