Reminds me of when I worked for a roofer. My job was to tote shingles up to he roofer. After a few days, I mention to the boss that he could rent one of those conveyors that moved the shingle to the roof for about $75 a day. He looked at me and said, "you only cost $40 a day, now quit thinking and get toting".

Why no ventilation?
Everything from the shingles down is a conditioned space. The house is completely sealed with a fresh air intake at the HVAC unit. Little to no air leaks is the goal.
Did you consider a standing seam metal roof?
I did, but the interference I’ve experienced from my phone and WiFi with a metal roof was one reason. The other was the price of steel is really high.
