I'll take PE (or Yahu) over anything...and hand painting over most decals. I always use Testors clear glue for instrument faces...avoids any "fogging" from CA...looks like you don't have that problem!
Friendly tip...after trying many CA "applicators", I found that stretched sprue works great! We have an unlimited supply too! You can stretch it as thin as ya like...I like to start with about an inch of "needle" and an inch or so of the sprue, for a "handle". As the tip builds up, just cut it off.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, according to the Department of Weights and Measures, a dollop comes in just over a smidgen.

I have a MASH helicopter I am working on now. Getting already to do this. Is this still your favorite way to do this 3 years later? Any you are using gorilla glue, not CA glue correct? Do you use gorilla glue in place of CA on other parts of the model or just this?

Pretty much. I prefer the Uv cure stuff for the dials

Instead of using cyano for the dials, have you used those so called "crystal" paintings, from AMMO or AK?

Not sure which you mean. I have ak gauzy but I like the uv curing resin

Curious if you have ever used the micro mark micro punch set for doing glass dials and if so what your impressions are?

I have not yet. In smaller scale, the decals work well enough or photo etch. 1/32 is a temptation.
