Hey JD! Just wanted to drop a comment after a while showing support. Loved the video when initially watching, but didn’t comment for whatever reason. Your content is always insightful, creative, and let me tell you on behalf of all your supporters and fans, you’ve got a zone of genius for storytelling and content creation. Not sure what your current situation is with work and life, but keep going and evolving! Your videos have impacted me more than any RUclips content and spurred a great positive change in my life over the past 6 months especially. Wishing you the best my friend and excited to see what’s next. Always an instant watch when I see you drop. Keep making what feels great to you.

@@georgeorwelltheman hey brotha, I genuinely appreciate the heartfelt message! It really is the reason I make content, to inspire others and help them on their way. I love channels like Gravemind that just make content to benefit others.
The channel got bigger than I ever thought, and it’s been so fulfilling to see it helping, educating and inspiring others.
I don’t make anything off of this, I actually lose money because it takes time away from my career.
What happened with the content is that my editor Aiden got a great job in his own life and was no longer able to edit the videos. He’s really been my right hand man since the jump, and the combination of his editing and music choice has always blown me away.
I have tried other editors, but none of them really give my videos the same feeling as Aiden did. This video for example was a professional editor and while they did a great job, it’s just not the same.
I have a few videos ready to go, but until I find an editor of that caliber, I don’t really feel great putting them out.
I’m pretty busy with my career as well, so I haven’t been on the hunt fully but I promise I’ll keep making videos as long as you guys keep watching and enjoying them!
      Thank you again, truly

@@PsychologyOfTheFight of course my friend, it's the least you deserve for all the work and dedication you've put into these. Your passion seeps through in the quality of the stories you tell - you really deserve far more thanks than I can give on a YT comment. I know I'm not just speaking for myself when I say that your work has truly helped me. I often find myself watching your old videos and they've helped me find my footing in this unstable world more than a couple times, particularly self-esteem. Your one on Khabib and Alex Pereira in particular are some of my favourites.
Indeed - there is a difference in the editing. But first, I don't think they're badly edited! Still great stuff man, and you're evolving and we're here through it all. I remember your Petr Yan stoicism video which had some bizarre editing. There was sound from an interview and music playing simultaneously. I remember watching at first like LOL, but the story was just so damn good any minor like that didn't matter. The story was what was critical and kept viewers hooked, and I took so much from that video. Using your own principles you've shared with me, it's an opportunity for growth. Someone will be out there who can do a better job than Aiden, and propel your channel to new yet unexplored heights, and I'm excited to see the new avenues you try exploring. We're here either way as long as it's you behind the mic writing up the script in your own unique and creative way.
I know the feeling of coming up with a close friend in a similar way, and can empathise with their departure creating a void. It's great to hear you talk about him so warmly though - you're a man of good character. But I guess the main point I want to make is that it's not the music or editing which makes the videos, at least IMO. It's your knowledge of psychology and how you fuse it with the journey's of fighters we all watch, and tell a compelling story. The end product offers something so valuable to us, a unique perspective, the humanisation of fighters we love watching, and a source of unrivalled motivation I've not encountered on RUclips. Of course, the editing may be more critical than I realise, you know far better than I do, so don't let me diminish the effect that may have!
In any event - you're a complete stud man for all you do, and why you do it, seriously. I just wish you all the best in life man.

Whenever I’m to myself, I always pay attention to people mindsets and how they go about things. The same way Dominick Cruz sees MMA in everything, I tend to see a sense of maturity and mental strength in everything. In order to truly be great at anything it all starts within your mindset.

Bringing these psychological concepts to the forefront through MMA persona’s is something I am still so enticed about. These videos never get old.
I love the concept, and will definitely implement it into my decision-making. It came out at precisely the right time.
Regarding your question: “What do you pay attention to?”
Well, to me- those things that form a spark in my brain. Things that not only “interest” me but entice and intrigue me to be apart of them I guess; To be an active contributor.

@@PsychologyOfTheFight I did Stand-up for a few years, but entertainment is an impossible industry to make it in for those who don't fit the mold of the status quo.
I don't have or want a broadcasting degree to be a fight announcer. (Always hated school.)
Voice acting requires recording space that I don't have. I've made steps (buying recording equipment), but I still have so much farther to go.
I also wasn't born to people with a fuckton of money like Joe and Bruce were.
I've thought about YOLOing and just going to Vegas to beg Dana for a job, but I figure that's an asinine pipe dream, and people probably ask him for jobs all the time.

Thank you so much for the heartfelt and insightful comment. I like to think so too. When I am making a video, there is a feeling inside of me to continue making it that I don't feel in any other activity. I can't stop thinking about it; it becomes an obsession. I often lose track of time when I'm in the midst of it, and the finished product becomes something that honestly feels like it came through me, not from me if that makes sense.

Most vivid I have is how the moment Nick Diaz chinned Daley after the guy gassed and kept on getting hit till he made Paul do mistakes that costed him to then collapse KO. In your Charles Olivera video you said something about how his teammates expectations led him to be better as a fighter, same with your Leon Edwards video.
