  • In this #shorts video I show you how to make one of my family's favorite cookie. These No Bake cookies are super easy and soooo good! You can't go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate and with the oats it makes these healthy, right?
    No Bake Cookies
    Ingredient
    1 stick of butter
    1/2 cup milk
    3 Tbsp cocoa powder
    2 cups sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
3 cups old fashioned oats (if you use quick oat use 2 1/2 cups)
    Instructions
In a large pot add butter and milk. Once butter is melted add sugar and cocoa. Stir until combined and bring to a boil. As soon as you see small bubbles along the edge of the pot, set a timer for 2 minutes. After the 2 minutes remove from heat and add the rest of ingredients. Immediately drop spoonfuls onto parchment paper as the cookies set up fast.

My folks love these so I make them all the time. I've found you can use hot cocoa mix instead of unsweetened cocoa and it works just fine. You can also substitute the peanut butter for a cup of marshmallows, or even halve both and use them together. I intend to experiment more in the future with these!

Tried this recipe, I felt like they needed about 1/2 cup of more oats, to not be so "loose." Adding the extra half cup of oats made them form better, and made them more stable. Thank you for this easy recipe, I will keep it and use it a lot- I expect, in the future. 😊

Back in 1967, my late mother used to babysit for a family from time to time. She would have been about 19 - 20 at the time. They made cookies like this, & mom loved them. Eventually they shared a copy of the recipe with her. I grew up loving these cookies any time mom made them. About 20 some years ago I was given a copy of the recipe. The only differences I've noticed are 1) mom used to place them on wax-paper lined plates before setting them in the fridge to set up.
    2) I've always known these as "oatmeal candy cookies".

Add 1/8 tsp cayenne. Makes it more Yum I can’t explain it. I use 4 Tbs cocoa and I use pure maple syrup now no sugar. Just enough to sweeten. I freeze mine now because they are a different texture with no sugar. Chewy from not using sugar.

While in highschool we went to a girl's house. The kitchen light wasn't on but these same cookies were laying out on wax paper.
She said to help ourselves. I was hungry and love them so i gobbled down about five.
Somebody turned the lights on and ants were all over them. Her mom walked in as we were carrying on and was so embarrassed. She kept apologizing.
My friends had politely not said anything about how many I ate until we saw the ants. They were teasing me. So she really focused on me. Apologizing and apologizing. It was bad. I never went back to that house. They probably thought it was bc of the ants. But it wasn't, I just didn't know that girl very well.❤

Hey chef, don't be mad but I modified your recipe justa touch. I did everything you did but gotta little glutinous along the way. I increased the milk to 3/4 cup because I was also adding a 1/4 cup of semi sweet chocolate morsels, 3/4 cup of peanut butter chips and a 7oz. Bag of sweetened coconut flakes mixed together dry with the oats. Poured it all in together & mixed it all up good. Dropped em on the parchment paper & aluminum foil because I ran out of parchment paper. Dusted them with powdered sugar & patiently waited to see if they would even set up. Didn't take long at all for em to firm right up. Upon tasting the concoction I realized they weren't worth a dam! Don't do this!!!
Nawww, I'm just kiddin wiya. They turned out purdy good if you like coconut. Surprised me that I nailed the amount of milk to increase to compensate for the other added ingredients. My ole lady seems partial to em too! Wow! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I abused your recipe & say thanks for the quick to the point video.
