What a message! I totally relate as I was adopted and honestly the Lord blessed me when I wasn't really trying in 1st grade when my teacher told me I was reading at a 5th grade level. After that, my parents really turned up the heat and I could never perform highly enough for their expectations of me. I definitely did some destructive things to "get ahead" and I promise, with the best intentions, I really did want to be able to do something big for my parents. For sure, I have identified myself through the years by performance and I think a lot of people do these days. Our modern society is so much about success and achievements. It's only normal that parents want what is best for their kids; it's just that many do not realise - teaching your children we are children of God and that all of our blessing are in HIM (not us) is the most important thing.

Julianne and Greg, you are both awesome! God has paid such a high price for us cos He loves is so deeply. I am only just now seeing how valuable I really am as me. I struggled for many years feeling inadequate, complaining to The Lord that my gifts weren't as good as others... I asked Him twice for a helper, He gave them to me, they were amazing, I thought, but both sought to destroy me, God warned me in a dream, but I felt so unworthy, so useless I couldn't see my own worth ... I wanted to hide behind them. .... Jump forward to November '22. I nearly died, in fact I saw my family in heaven, and it was lovely, but I was given my life back, God healed my brain, and on top of that He healed my broken my broken heart, I have no idea what it how it that, but just after the holiday, before new year, I woke up KNOWING I was healed inside, it was like I was born again. God has placed me back in the local church setting, restored the ministry He called me to when I was born again, He has given me a place for that ministry, and paid my debts! I have always seen the value of others, but not really ever seen I was valuable, I had glimpses but not a lasting know deep inside, it wasn't deep enough to outlast the onslaught of drinking thinking. Everything has changed! I am bold, confident, and KNOW Whose I am and who I am in Him. Thank you for these powerful bible studies that set captives free and once free keep them free. I bought your book Greg, but I couldn't receive it, I wanted to but I couldnt, so God in His mercy just healed my soul so I can receive prosperity, success,without sorrow, but a fullness of joy and peace that keeps on growing! The years are being restored to me from the inside out... Wendell taught in that in the first year of bible college, and I never forgot it but it was like dormant seed... Now it's taking root and growing up and will one day soon real me ever increasing harvest!

Wow I never saw that before that the enemy attacked the identity of Jesus and how he does the same thing to us as children of God. Our sonship in Christ is our position - who we are and need to remember and confess.
