Everyone seems to shit on these but they worked just fine on my 07 Altima. No weird noises after almost a year. The only issue I ran into was one strut assembly was missing an upper mounting bolt, so I had to substitute an OEM one.

both rear 172400 quick strut assemblies are missing one upper mounting bolt. Is there a way to take off one from the worn out OEM strut and substitute it for the missing one on the monroe?

@@CarsNToys it's not Monroe he's referring to being shit on, it's the all in one kit everyone ships on regardless what Brand ,for whatever reason most mechanics don't like the all in one quick strut they'd prefer to install the strut ,spring etc individually with a spring press !!

I really don't understand the dislike of Monroe Quick-Struts. I think most issues guy complain about are caused by improper installation mistakes or other worn-out suspension parts that weren't replaced as well. I replaced the OEM because of failing bearing plates with Monroe and then had a knocking issue. That was quickly solved by replacing my worn sway bar links, the struts are fine. Happy to say I bought from RockAuto on manufactures close out for only $90 for both struts, very happy with them. Nice job CarsNToys.

I did this on my 95 nissan maxima, and afterwards I've had a popping sound when I turn the steering wheel. Either way, left or right, it's a pop, pop, pop, pop until you can't turn the wheel anymore, then the same going back. I can't see anything wrong, but started immediately after replacing the driver side strut.

I might have saved money with tbese el cheapo Chinexe made Monroe struts, but one was defective upon installation, while the other side lasted s few weeks before getting noisy and clunky.
Both were tpreplaced by RockAuto under warranty easily, it was srill a hassle.. The second set are okay after 1000miles or so, but I am not optimistic.

I had three Monroe quick struts bearings fail in less than 1 year high mileage though over 25,000. They say you have to lower the car with the wheel on then tighten the 3 top nuts. I didn't know this at the time so may be my fault. Though I still don't trust them.

Idk maybe you had bad luck or maybe you installed wrong but I installed Monroe expert series 2 years ago and they have 56,000 miles with no issues. I would not even be mad if they failed at this point given the price paid for them (little under 100 per quick strut).
