- We're off on an adventure with Bernard's Tours in St. Maarten to explore the island on their five-hour "Adventure Island Tour 2" option! Join us as we locate the meeting spot, check out some scenic viewpoints, stop to feed the iguanas, sample some food and drinks at Captain Frenchy's at Grand Case Beach, snack on French pastries at Chez Fernand in Marigot, stop for a photo op at the Dutch/French border monument, get a lot of low-flying action at Maho Beach, and more mayhem!! :D

Thank you. We did this excursion in 2020. We are doing it again for our cruise in February. We will be taking some friends and family members.

Thanks so much for this comprehensive video. I was having such a hard time deciding which tour or excursion to do in SXM but after seeing this video we will definitely be booking Bernard's tours.

I love St. Maarten! I ate at a restaurant on the French side near the shopping area called Enoch’s Place. The food was delicious!

When we were at Maho it was to early in the day for the big planes. Maybe we will get there again one day. St Marteen is a lovely place with very friendly people
Great video. We were just in St Maarten with 5 ships there and the port was so crowded that you couldn’t hardly move in the store areas . But we love that port and beach nearby.
At 22:00, the "slightly weird angle" is a flying attitude called "crabbing", performed when there is strong crosswind. A plane can touch down at that angle, while continuing straight down the runway.
We had Mailman when we did the tour in Nov 21,he was great!
What a fun tour. Wish we took yours instead of the boring one we took with the ship. Great video.
Oh no! No good? We've done a similar island tour through Carnival before, and it was almost the same, minus the iguana stop. We still give the edge to this Bernard's tour as our favorite overall island tour in St. Maarten though!!

I was just on a tour to that beach. We were there for an hour and not a single plane!!
Oh, wow! Most of the large planes come in the afternoon, and our guide made sure to keep our timing around those planes. Sorry to hear that your Maho Beach day was a bit of a bust!! :O

How long did you spend at Maho beach & what day of the week we’re you there? Hoping we get to see that many!
Going on Celebration in October. While I will be renting a scooter and using that on board, I know majority of the Excursions require being able to walk. Was there a LOT of walking, and since I use a cane to walk, how accessible is Maho? That is probably the thing I want to do the most in that Port.
(I do plan on contacting Bernard’s to see if the have handicap accessible vans/buses too.)

Yep! We've done this tour twice and enjoyed it both times. They gave us about 45 minutes at the beach, I'd say. Bernard's Tours!! :D

How soon before your excursion can you find out what planes are coming in? Going in September and want all the info I can get.
The flight schedules should be the same every day for most planes, especially the large ones.
Bernard's website lists 7 options of tours, not just the Adventure 2
Ah, true! When we first used Bernard's Tours several years ago, I believe that had an Island Tour 1, Island Tour 2, and Island Tour 3 depending on what stops you wanted in your day. That's what we were alluding to when saying they were down to just the number two option these days, ha ha... oops!! :P

How do you pay for your food and drinks on the French side
does the ship change your money for you
We used a credit card, which did the exchange for us. Both sides of the island do take US dollars, being such a tourist spot though. Otherwise, you'd probably need to secure Euros prior to boarding the ship if you preferred. I don't believe they offer money exchange onboard, but we haven't specifically asked before!!
Shame the 747's don't come in anymore.
One freak accident at Maho, lawsuits, and the beach will be closed and the beach bar bankrupt.
