Had this in my local bar when I was a student, complete with the middle post and pop up drain lane posts - presumably this changes the game from a game of luck to a game of skill!
The one part they screwed up on pinball arcade is you should be able to shoot the ball into that lower chamber using the top flipper. In the arcade version it's very tough to do that but the game wants you to shoot into that.
Believe it or not... Stern pretty much gave up on pinball after unleashing this gem, and Bally's contribution to Believe It Or Not is in the "honorable mention" department!
I'm playing this table on Pinball Arcade on a Xbox360 Elite. I still need one wizard goal, the trip to Atlantis. I've managed to start Frog Frenzy (7 Super Jackpots needed). As for Atlantis, I didn't got it going yet, I had 6 Ripley letters of the 7 needed, I was so close. That Final mode is a quite tough one to get going. Nice video and playing.
I spent 7 hours straight on this machine! Owned the scoreboard, and only spent £150 - the best pinball machine I have ever played on in my life! i love it. LOVE it! Where can I buy 1?????? ♥
I saw this machine at a rest stop on I-90 Eastbound in Charlton. As much as I wanted to play it, I had no quarters to deposit because there were no change machines anywhere in the damn stop so I couldn't play it and compare it to the TPA version.
Practice made perfect and got much luck at my side. I've managed to get the trip on Atlantis running, but not to complete it. Got all the Ripley-letters on the first ball with a few extra balls stacked up and a score of 100 million and beyond. Ended up with 192 million and with the Ripley's Wizard achievement. I don't expect to get this done on the real machine.
Great video of this machine! I have a TZ and are about to make a switch to this one. This seems like a really nice pinball! Just subbed to your channel:)
@satriani3675 Yes, Pat Lawlor (The designer of this pinball) often references other machines he designed (such as addams family pinball) when creating new games.
Nice video! Definitely a difficult table (though I've only played it on The Pinball Arcade for PS3.) It's a shame that Stern is the only pinball manufacturer around anymore, though they do have some cool tables like the mini-pinball machine within the Family Guy table and the moving wrecking ball in their Batman machine. I think the biggest problem with their machines is that there's a lack of competition and trying to out-do other manufacturers, which aren't around anymore.
Just got this machine and the high scores are set really high. How can I put them to zero so that my highest scores are saved? I went into standard adjustments and set them all to 0 but it still didn’t change them
@mdegast @tattyadams My advice, don't give up, cause I have reached wizard mode a few times on Ripley's. Rack up those extra balls, and you'll reach Atlantis for as long as it takes. You'll thank me when you do.
I dunno, Arabian Nights was fairly tough compared to this, Black Hole was empty, and Theatre of Magic was harder than Nights! Nah, this table was actually tame. Me, I got about 80,630,246 points on a single run! (I managed to get very lucky with the super jackpots and seemingly endless extra balls)
Pinball machines are so cool. Half the fun is just looking at them! lol
I like looking at what's going on in the display more than watching the pinball
This is the best game Pat Lawlor designed for Stern.

This is one of the most fun pinball machines ever made. Although if you learn some of the patterns you can play it forever lol.
Thank you, it really is a difficult machine to finish, I never did get to the end!
I always played this everytime I visited my local Ripley's Mueseum.
Been playing this game a lot on Pinball Arcade.
They really nailed it perfectly. Would love to have the original table!

Nice video, beautiful table and nice playing. I play this table on Pinball Arcade a lot but it seems to have a lot more lights in the real life table.
wow it hink this machine has the best ball saver. I played this on my iPhone (pinball arcade) and it's one of my favs next to twilight zone

Love this machine
Same here, never got anywhere near the end of this game!

My local arcade has this 5 plays for $2.00 but I can't seem to break 9 million for all the quarters in the world, GREAT video.
going to arcade in 4 hours just to play this 14 times
How was it?
amazing. going again on Wednesday
This was my favorite table

Funhouse? Ahahahahahahaha!
No seriously, one of my favourite pre-dmd machines

pinball arcade brought me here!
That happens a lot now!
Nice video!

What the pinball on the right called? Cause it kind of looks familiar
@tattyadams Oh ok. Thx cause i think i've played that a long time ago
What about RollerCoaster Tycoon? That's actually a pretty fun one, atleast imo.
Plus it WAS designed by Pat Lawlor.
How do u have so many
I played that in the iOS app called the pinball arcade!

You should be able to do it by going to the service menu then "reset" then "HSTD". I like to keep old scores, gives me something to aim for :-)
@satriani3675
more than a reference about the playfield design... ;)
Don't hate on Stern xP They're the only company actually still manufacturing pinball machines. xD You know you'd miss that if they were gone xP
14:33 Why you get to enter 10 initials, and how to enter 10 initials?
You can set Stern machines to have 3 or 10 initials, I normally have them set to 3 so I don't know what happened there!
10 initials are not bad!:)
I think Monopoly is pretty good too.
lol. I'm not sure the depiction of the Aboriginal at 0:19 would fly over here in Australia.

10:20 4x bonus
09:53 3x bonus
13:41 5x bonus
@satriani3675 lol every comment is a response to you
is there a way to turn off specific sounds on this machine? I can't stand the horrible sound it plays when it says "Travel with Ripley".
I'm afraid not :-(
@@tattyadams Nevermind, I just found out that Pinball Arcade allows you to turn either music and/or sound effects on and off.
@SpikeHedgelion8 Hi, its Funhouse.
Play Funhouse instead :D
thats £1.50 not £150
