I don't know anyone else who has IST, so thank you for making this video. It's so easy to get discouraged when it seems like no one is taking me seriously. My pediatric cardiologist diagnosed me with IST when I was 16; he told me to cut back on caffeine and salt and to come back if my heart rate went over 200. At that point, it was completely manageable and more of a nuscience than a concern, so I never went back and aged out of his office. It stayed manageable until right before I turned 20, but I was 12 hours away from home at college. I ended up going to the ER when my heart had been fluttering for about 3 hours; they did an x-ray and my heart was fine, so I was referred to the in-hospital cardiologist. Went to that cardiologist who said my heart was fine, so when summer came I went to my GP. She put me on 25mg of beta blocker that we ended up changing to 50mg when the 25 hardly helped. 50mg was a miracle for two weeks, but everything slowly started coming back. Now, it's worse than ever before and I'm seeing an electrophysiologist to figure out what to do. I'm halfway into a 30 day heart monitor and the highest it's gotten was 160 after two flights of stairs, but it gets into the 120s almost everyday just from walking around campus. I've been losing my breath more frequently as well and am constantly tired. It doesn't help that I have anxiety and have been under extreme stress due to a family member's health problems for almost a year now.

hey im 23 as well and i just recently got diagnosed with sinus tachycardia as well as bradycardia, all of these symptoms were triggered by a really bad accidental caffeine overdose i had! i think the reason why these symptoms are so bad for me is because of POTS i was previously unaware of but that remains to be diagnosed. thanks for putting this video out there its given me a little hope. when i first started getting symptoms really bad they said that i had anxiety and psychosis and threw me in a mental hospital where they accused me of lying for attention and diagnosed me with bpd. im incredibly frustrated and hurt because ive run into the same bullshit from doctors claiming that just because im young there cant be anything wrong when my pulse can go from anywhere between 40 and 146 for practically no reason. ive been dealing with this for three months and really hope i find some answers and help soon. i hope youre getting better with your IST! thank you again for posting this. its nice to see someone else my age talking about this!

Jearing this gives me confidence. Ive always just listened to the drs and it ended up in me being misdiagnosed for 2 yeara as only having anxiety. I didnt understand because yes it causes anxiety ive alwats had anxiety and i also had panic disorder that i beat. It all cam back with a wide variety of symptoms ive never had and weird stuff with my heart. Like PVCs and days where my heart wakes me from sleeping and is stuck in the 130 range all day sitting and moving jumps it up to 160. My symptoms arent always that bad. My last e.r. trip kept me all day almost fainted going in. They actially listened and tested everything and said POTS and IST. And now my new cardiologist actually listened to me. I am so thanful. I am not gpod with people and just go with what drs say. I never get sick so ive never gone to the dr tp see other causes for my anxiety and panic until it got rwally really bad. Healthcare should ve better. And any young women they always go straight to anxiety. My pcp i could walk in with my arm cut off and shed tell me its anxiety as if i dont know what anxiety and panic feels luke living with for 10 years.

Thank you for making this video!!!! I just got diagnosed with IST 3 weeks ago and it's been crazy. Literally my heart was always at 120 and my doctors never bothered looking into it until I was having episodes in the 180s. It's crazy.

Thank you for posting your videos they has truly helped and encourage me. Ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. I also have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure its been 7 years now. I ended up getting a defibrillator 2 years ago. I haven't had any problems. It was weird at first being inside my body then, I got used to it. I used to drink a ton of coffee. My defibrillator has gone off once last year 7 times in one day.
I haven't had any problems with it. Although it was weird at first being inside my body then I got used to it.I spent 3 months in a cardiac rehab program that was the best support I've ever had I recommend going to cardiac rehab if you ever have a chance they saved my life and so did my defibrillator .

I have anxiety, bad... and recently it's been feeling different. I told my primary care, and he wrote it off as anxiety (like he tries to do everything else) hell NO, I demanded to see a cardiologist, I'll be taking a echo test soon. I know my body and I know something isn't right hospital told me Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. And nothing else... that's not good English for me. I don't want to go the beta blocker route. I'd like to deal with this naturally...

@@denisemoctezuma8632 hi! I have IST myself, had it for 7 years now, don’t be afraid.. come to terms with that first, you need to be tough and just learn from your body. It’s a very uncomfortable lifestyle due to symptoms but if you learn what helps it’ll become second nature, I have gone through 4 different beta blockers and am allergic to calcium channel blockers so can’t take those either and now maybe be having an ablation or pacemaker put in. Sit and take Deep breaths! It sounds easier than it is but you’ll learn what calms you! Are you on medications yet?
