This anime is like a really bizarre version of Gurren Lagann. The first episode was crazy, but oddly enjoyable to me. I have faith in this being a decent anime.

Because it's sudden, it happened to confident people that are shown to be competent as well and it's just out of nowhere, not to mention the relationship they had with the shows main characters.

Good start, fun show so far, though killing their best friends so brutally at the start felt kinda needless...
It kickstarts the plot. Only something seriously traumatic could justify the drastic changes in their characters at the end of the episode.
It sets the Tone. This anime isn't going to be as comedic and fun filled as we thought.
