And to have it be a character who not only looks like me but is also a girl discovering her sexuality in a conservative context and looking for positive lesbian role models? Yeah, it brought the waterworks. Anyway, beautiful film, thank you to everyone involved, I so wish I had seen this when I was twelve.

bwahahaha I read the comments before I watched the video so that line didn't make sense then.. but after, I burst out if laughter when I got to that part XD
So Blaise looks a lot like a girl I fell in love with.... So there was this girl at my Jewish camp who was three years younger than me and she was really cute and I hung with her and her friend and at one point she said her counselor was cute and I'm like oh, like center scoop of ice cream cute? And I explained what it meant and she's like no, like little kid. And a few days later I was talking to her and I walked her back to her activity and she said see you soon, my name. And I took a deep breath and said see you soon, center scoop of ice cream her name. She smiled and said see you, and walked inside. I turned and slowly walked away, then smiling, ran back to my bunkhouse. The last night of camp we hugged for 5 minutes straight. Her head was resting on my shoulder at one point and my head resting on hers. It was so sweet. I really wanted to kiss her but that's not allowed also there were other kids there. They yelled that we were hugging really long. I'm gonna see her next year though.
I am genuinely moved by this piece. The storyline was so down to Earth and commited to picture a real life issue and it was beautifully done. The combination of outstanding performance of all actors and actresses - shout-out to the young girls who managed to show a phenomenal, yet so natural and delicate acting - the soundtrack and also filmmaking made this an absolute masterpiece. I'm astonished at that conversation, more like a monologue, from Phoebe in the car, she sounded so confident and I'm sure it was her well-built, eloquent speech that made her parents rethink the whole situation, at last. I hope this piece reaches young girls who are struggling with similar situations and helps them go through it, understanding that they have to hold on and be true to themselves, no matter how many odds they have against them. And, more importantly, no one gets anywhere without someone you can trust or make the path a little more fun. A real friendship. However, scrolling down to some of the comments, I've come across a lot of people complaining about the fact that Phoebe and Blaze didn't share a kiss or were romantically engaged to each other. For those, I highly recommend you watch the whole thing again, simply because they weren't supposed to end up together, it was very clear from the beginning that Blaze identified herself as a straight girl, while Phoebe was more likely to feel attracted to girls - notice, nothing really settled as they were still very young and figuring things out. Their story was about their genuine friendship and its development in the adverse scenario of one's religious background. Not exactly two young girls falling for each other, on the contrary, they were fighting for the right just to be around each other just like any other kid at their age, you know? Although, I'd still like to see how they ended up and if they ever managed to meet 20 years later. That's it, took my time cause I think it was worth it.

Some people in the comments wanted the girls to end up being together, but we are so glad you understood the relationship dynamic and that Blaze is just straight. I would have never thought that a (short) film about a pretty young girl discovering herself and accepting her sexuality would be so inspiring for me. Like, I'm the type of person who doesn't get inspired real quick and is rather emotionless towards these kind of thnigs, but the scene in the car and how easily her admitment roled over her lips - that was just freaking awesome. I, for once in my life, thought how it would be, if I suddently came out to my mom. Just out of the blue telling her 'you know why I've got no boyfriend yet? Because I'm into girls.' Easy as that. I am so impressed and motivated right know, I think the next time my mom asks me about my relationship status I'll just think of Phoebe and come out. Thank you.

This is one of the best LGBT short films I’ve ever seen. I love how they are young but they know themselves. It reminds me of my friend group in middle school. Great representation!!❤️🏳️🌈❤️
Thank you for making such a fabulous meaningful short film, what an impact this could have on so many! All I kept thinking after Phoebe’s parents removed her from her school and prevented her from seeing Blaze was how detrimental this was to Blaze, she became depressed and shut down by not wanting to talk about the problem. Sometimes issues like this is just enough to push a young male or female over the edge into a spiral of depression and sometimes suicidal thoughts! I was thrilled how Phoebe told her parents exactly how she felt, but I was more thrilled that they realized the impact of what they had done and the importance of changing that decision! What a beautiful message. There are a large number of people who could benefit from this wonderful short film. Thanks again Arthouse films!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Ok is it just me or if blaise was like bi would they or would they not make a cute couple? 😅💕ok this is like my 5th time watching it and I just keep obsessing about how much blaise looks like my crush and just imagining us doing all this stuff but the upsetting part abt liking her is she is straight and I know she would never like me back in the way I like her she is just so kind and pretty and one of the most amazing people I have ever met and I don't know how I would live it I never met her also we don't get to see each other often bc we only get to see each other on Sundays and at skating and after next weekend I probably won't be able to see her till next year 😢😢
in the very beginning you can tell one of the girls is in love with her best friend and it legit made me cry like omg I loved this so much though 🥺🥺🥺🥺❤️❤️
I know that this whole thing is scripted and all, but these girls honestly seem like they could be friends in real life. And I hope they are. The way they laughed together seemed so genuine 😊

the part where the girl told phoebe that they could just be friend hurt me alot cuz I too was told the same words......it felt like I was phoebe in that situation and I will feel awkward and feeling kinda stupid for falling for dat person...... the longer I watched this it made me cry and it made my heart ache ........ And I love it.....💖💖😊 also skl I still haven't told my parents that im gay wish I could be like phoebe
Awww. Thanks so much for a sharing!! Thanks also for watching our little film. We sure hope you are happy in spite of not telling your parents. One day you will be able to be your full self and not have to keep the secret. Stay safe and enjoy life!
This is so relatable because when I was young I didn’t know which gender I liked either. Some times I would see a girl and get feelings for her, but the same would happen for a guy. I knew my parents would never have let me date my own sex, so I kept these feelings secret. My whole family is Christian so no one believed in any of that stuff. I felt alone, but I knew if I didn’t do anything I would be a sad, broken, scared, confused kid forever. About a month later I got a girl friend. Now I’m in high school and I don’t regret coming out. If your scared of what other people think, and they judge you, they are not your true friends. If your parents don’t support you, you should not hate them. Your parents do not know how to cope with all of this, so you must learn to cope with them. Thanks so much for reading this big jumble, and I really hope it helps. 🙂💕💕💓💗
(THIS DOES NOT CONTAIN SPOILERS) Finally one that’s not 6 minutes long. i’ve read some comments and they say it’s really good and that they come back to watch it often. it sounds good so I’ll reply to my comment and see how good it was (no spoilers just in case anyone reads before watching)

this film had such beautiful still shots and such beautiful cinematography. thank you for this :')
What a great comment!!! Thanks soooooo much. Some people in the comments wanted the girls to end up being together, but we are so glad you understood the relationship dynamic and that Blaze is just straight. It's kind of like, they both discovered their own selves in this movie, then they have to figure out how to move forward. That is so cool that you liked the moms and thought they were cute! We really appreciate you watching our film!!!
She's gay In her heart.. it's just not yet ready to be out:) mybe someday
I’d just move to my own house and leave a letter of confession for them and ignore their words
Absolutely gorgeous film, so peaceful, and beautiful. The scenery and camera work and the angles, plus the music and just this story. I’m obsessed.
Awesome!!!!! Thanks so much for checking it out and letting us know!!!
This movie was incredible from the actors to the scenery, and the qaulity of the film! Great job!
You are awesome to watch it and let us know!!!!!!! Thanks!!!
OMG,this is the cutest short film I ever watched! And I absolute love love the relationship of the moms haha, they are sooo cute!
Thanks so much for watching!! This comment thrills us after so much energy spent making the film! We really appreciate the encouragement and willl share your comment with the cast and crew!
"Look! A record player" camera pans to tape deck....
I feel old!
Haha!! Nice. You picked up on that!!! LOL
Thank you.
Wow!!!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!! Thanks for the incredible review. Thanks for watching!!!!!!
@@arthousefilms just a quick update: I actually came out lol
Also, this is still one of my favourite short films! 🤙♥️
@@jessicagrube2766 Wow!!! That is great news!!!! Congratulations. Now you can be your true self. Good job. If you feel like sharing how it went coming out, it would be great to hear your story and how you are now. Either way, we are so glad for you!!
This was such a cute movie! So natural, warm and also joyful. I loved the simplicity and genuine honesty! The dialogues, the acting and the cinematography it was really honest, realistically cute. And their friendship was beautiful and innocent. So cute! Loved it xox
Awww. Thanks! That was the perfect comment to that reflects what we tried to make. It's nice of you to take the time to let us know!!
arthouse films of course! you guys continue the great work 🌠
A totally sweet story. I wish the two girls all the best in the world... Love should know no boundaries. ❤❤
That's the best feedback!!! Thanks so much for watching.
I cried twice watching this and I didn’t cry in infinity war this is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever watched in my life 😭❤️
Wow!!! Thanks so much for letting us know!! That is one of the best comments ever!!! So glad you liked it. We are sharing your comment with the cast and crew!
When I came out my mom said it just a faze and sent me too my room and my real dad stop talking to me
Wow. That stinks. Too bad people are so fearful and conditioned to not see love as love. But the great thing is that you actually came out and can be with your tribe and friends that support you!
I'm still in the closet because when two girls kissed on tv my mom yelled and shut it off and to me to never watch it again:/
I'm so sorry to hear that... I hope they can change ❤️
I haven’t came out to my dad because of the same reason but don’t worry you may not have a dad but you have me as a new friend now
@@i.mproductions2990 don’t listen to her then
This is one of the best LGBT short films I’ve ever seen. I love how they are young but they know themselves. It reminds me of my friend group in middle school. Great representation!!❤️🏳️🌈❤️
Wow!!! You are awesome to leave such a nice comment!!! Thank you soooooo much for watching!
Thanks so much for your thoughtful response. We have had a some feedback of people that literally came out to friends or family because of this film! We really appreciate comment!!
Idk why I want to see her moms more than them 😂
haha. Yep, the mom's are awesome!!
CUS THEIR GAAAY!
That was awkward when they mentioned doing the diddly doo
Me: cry’s the hole movie
My friend: keeps a straight face the hole movie
Lucy Holderman well she has to keep a straight face with her straight ass sexuality
Blaze is flipping gorgeous😭 I'm jealous
Ik that look is actually my definition of beauty
Two friends are so adorable. Genuine friendship is rare but so special when it's real. God bless them.
Loved it! Especially how the kink fits in without taking anything away from the rest 😊
Thanks!!! We really wanted to show the parents as healthy and well-rounded, not just the typical asexual cardboard parents that are usually depicted.
Awsome scene in the car! the kid put the parents in their place. =)
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Yes, I love when she shuts them down!!!
Too be honest, I’m bi and I personally think that it’s perfectly fine to be bi or gay or straight, it doesn’t matter at all, what matters the most, are the people around you, keep all of ur close friends forever ♾ 😉😊
"What if I live in Germany?"
"What the hell. NO."
🤣🤣
This is the 5th lesbian short film I saw this night and yeah, cried like 7 times-
I wish I could speak up to my parents like that ...
Same😔
Damn phoebe is brave, I wish I could have the same courage to do that
When I was in high school I found an ice cream girl at a Mormon Youth Group event, she was my first love too. Such a great story and friendship.
Mormon Youth Group.... LOL... That's awesome!
I really wanted to see it jump 20 years and have them meeting at the stump.
haha! Yep!
Oh my God! You found an ice cream-girl at the mormon school! 😁
OH MY GOD YOU FOUND AN ICE CREAM GIRL AT THE MORMON SCHOOL

Me: shipping blaze and pheobe
Also me in the end: not what I wanted but still gr8
Their relationship is so beautiful and naturally.
Cute! I love all the rural childhood scenes. The girls act well with each other...but the rest of the acting seems a bit forced. Cute film!
this was so cute, i watched it with my girlfriend and enjoyed it. Great work!
Awesome! Thank you!
I love blazes eyes, they’re beautiful
"Oh my god! you found an ice cream girl at the Mormon school!" made me laugh so hard I love this film haha
🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🙋🏼♀️
AHHH CAN YOU GUYS MAKE A PART TWO? And make Blaze and Phoebe fall in loveeee.
Yes that's totally awesome
Like two girls can fall in love gay or not
Oh yesss..that would be great!!
Ok is it just me or if blaise was like bi would they or would they not make a cute couple? 😅💕ok this is like my 5th time watching it and I just keep obsessing about how much blaise looks like my crush and just imagining us doing all this stuff but the upsetting part abt liking her is she is straight and I know she would never like me back in the way I like her she is just so kind and pretty and one of the most amazing people I have ever met and I don't know how I would live it I never met her also we don't get to see each other often bc we only get to see each other on Sundays and at skating and after next weekend I probably won't be able to see her till next year 😢😢
I found this so cute!! I wish you can film a part 2 where they show up after 20 years. I'll definitely wait for that to happen! BETTER BE HAPPENING
Awwww. Thanks for watching!!! Alright, check back in 20 years and we'll see what happens at the stump!
Great movie, worth watching, wow the nature, the cinematography, loved it.
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch it and let us know!!

"You found an ice cream girl at the Mormon school!"-Why is this so funny
I know that this whole thing is scripted and all, but these girls honestly seem like they could be friends in real life. And I hope they are. The way they laughed together seemed so genuine 😊
t h e m o m s t h o u g h. they stole my heartttttt.
edit: GOD. PHOEBE'S SCENE IN THE CAR. I ABSOLUTELY GOT THE CHILLS. the whole time i was like "GO OFF PHOEBE!!!" 😤👏

Wow!!!!! Thank you so much for saying that!!!!!! That's such a great thing to hear because we don't hear much about the look of the film! 🙂🙂🙂🙂
@@arthousefilms you're welcome!! i kept pausing to appreciate the scenes more,,, so actually thank /you/ for making this 🥺
the part where the girl told phoebe that they could just be friend hurt me alot cuz I too was told the same words......it felt like I was phoebe in that situation and I will feel awkward and feeling kinda stupid for falling for dat person......
the longer I watched this it made me cry and it made my heart ache ........
And I love it.....💖💖😊
also skl I still haven't told my parents that im gay wish I could be like phoebe
Awww. Thanks so much for a sharing!! Thanks also for watching our little film. We sure hope you are happy in spite of not telling your parents. One day you will be able to be your full self and not have to keep the secret. Stay safe and enjoy life!
@@arthousefilms thank you 😊😊
This is so relatable because when I was young I didn’t know which gender I liked either. 🙂💕💕💓💗
I actually love this short film, it says a lot in the story and tells it well.
Wow! Thanks so much for checking it out. Your encouraging comment is so nice to hear!
"Do you want me to talk to them?"
"NO."
literally every child to their perants ever
NOOO WHY DIDNT I GET TO SEE THEM TOGETHER?! She could have been bi...tears...well still cute
🤔🙄
