Tom Brands. Either you love him or you can’t stand him. Regardless on where one may fall on your view of Brands. He’s the real article. Authentic. The real deal. A great face and voice for college wrestling. The more I hear and listen to what this accomplished coach and wrestler says at each of these pressers, the more I like him.
A great voice... is a bit of a stretch. No one is questioning his passion...but his inability to speak to the media in a constructive informative way is nearly unbearable to listen to. I cringe whenever he gets to the mic and am just waiting for him to belittle a question and NOT answer it straight forward.
"These guys should be doing the talking". Then immediately, not even waiting for a question, proceeds to talk even more. I like Brands but how many times can we keep hearing "Heres the thing", "We got work to do" and "Whatever's next on the calender...", and we never really know anything more than when we started.
You guys who complain about this don’t understand how strategic his words are. There’s a reason he stopped Angelo from explaining the details he needs to adjust. Everyone loves how “mysterious” Cael is by not letting anyone in on what they do. Brands does the same thing in his brands way. Don’t give them anything to use against you or catch onto.
