Man, the amount of times where i trouble shoot through the phone, just to realize that the person had not plugged it in correctly... Best part is, they get mad when i tell them to check if its plugged in because "of course it is. Do you think I'm stupid?"
Well I hardly get to use my phones for anything anyway It was mostly to prove that this could be built Priority hold equipment was so hard to find and get all the parts, that it was almost mythical and a complete dream to think you could even get a complete setup as it required not one but two extremely rare line cards And the original only had a 2 line capacity Since I now had the skills to program and wire something I always really wanted one mostly for the extra lamp flutter it does I am planning on using this with my autovon set and just mostly for show I may eventually make more of these or expand the existing setup if there is demand or a want on my part to have something So far it has worked flawlessly I also added a bit to my program so it will shutoff my interrupter power supply and other ac devices when I am not in the room to automatically save power I'm hoping to integrate it with a answering machine so when there is a new call the hold key lamp in my call director will slowly fade to indicate a new message
@@kadensreviewsah yep, nice! Thanks for the details. It'd definitely be interesting to see you talk through a bit of history on it, what problems it was originally designed to solve, how it would've been used in practice, etc
@StephenHoldaway I have made a couple videos talking about it already Priority hold was designed and used in places such as police emergency lines and ER or somewhere that time to answer certain calls was of the essence Also I heard one person say who worked in a police emergency line center that whichever calls would be on hold the longest would automatically get the Priority lamp wink to signify that the call was there first Another feature is I hold Priority hold signifys the hold condition to all connected sets I hold shows the special lamp flash to only the phone that put it on hold All other sets saw the regular flash To me that was less neat so I configured my sets with Priority hold
Maybe zip ties around the Amphenol connectors would prevent this failure mode. Cool setup!
You are probably right
I guess I just haven't wanted to make anything super tied down as far as the telephone sets go
Thank you!

Yep
Its amazing how something so simple makes the biggest difference
Especially when the cables are older
This is some pretty neat looking kit! Do you use it for anything specific, or just a fun build?
