      $29.00 USD! honestly dude, I reckon you're asking a bit much, like, it's a outstanding mod and all, but $29.00! that is some insane pricing ... I could guarantee if you made it cheaper, you would make more $ from simply more sales, there is no way I could ever justify spending that much on such a mod, though for half this price, I wouldn't second guess it ... but for $29.00, yeah, no way in hell

    There was a short interview sequence with the head of MSFS Jörg Neumann in the 40th anniversary birthday event VLOG from the channel AeroNewsGermany. In this interview Jörg said that being able to step out of the cockpit and walk around will be a part of future improvements to the living world of MSFS.

    That's really pretty neat, and incentivizes possibly getting some of the really detailed airports and aircraft just to explore. The game engine is definitely capable of good visuals at almost any scale. I doubt it will ever be a priority but it would be fun if they could run a smoothing routine on the roads so that ground vehicles can drive on them without bouncing around all over the geometry in places.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад +6

      Yes, it's certainly a nice feature to have John and although some have been a bit cynical about being able to "walk" in a flight sim, I certainly think the world of MSFS is detailed enough, to warrant having the capability to do so. Why wouldn't one want to land at the pyramids and take a walk around etc etc?
      For sure, there are details that could be better at ground level, the roads being one of them. I often wonder if we won't see Black Shark working its magic on the roads, railways etc at some point and eventually having train simulators, trucking simulators etc, all making their way into the MSFS world.

      I wonder what tech will be in 20 years or more, i read somewhere that now some company is trying to do similar things as blackshark AI where houses are generated based on satellite data, but instead of having low polly textures up close they are adding generated 3d objects based on that satellites data with higher polly count so houses and other things would look more realistic, like made objects with blender etc

      It takes me back to FS 1, I had a copy my neighbor gave me on a floppy disk and he ran it on my dual floppy PC with an amber screen. I had so much fun. in recent months I got into drone flying and watching all I can on drones, And just this pat October and in my YT feeds comes a channel from Airforceproud95, and I started watching those videos not just because they are funny but the fun they were having with MSFS and I noticed X SE, I bought that it works with my present system , Win 10. And also bought a Thrustmaster T Hotus X. I watch Airforceproud95 his video's like daily now. Addicted and helpful in some ways and learn.
      I know the MSFS 2020 is one heck of a program. Now I debate myself. I would like to go Xbox s or X, another debate within myself, I have 509340493 laptops (exaggeration inserted there). So the xbox x perhaps I can manage but the program/game has came a long ways and I am having fun with the X steam SE version for the moment. FS Realistic is ok-ish, but we need a "master" button for "sound off" 'cause sound is mostly mono and does not run the master volume percentage of the main simulator. So the first thing I do when the sim starts i search the FSRealistic window to turn it off. And when i use replay soft, FSRealistic ruins the landing so become unusable (wiggles the wings in a very unnatural way) for movie making. I bought FSRealistic 'cause it feels ok when comes the camera shake part and they did very well on early simulators.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations

      As BOFS points out, you can't "walk" up the airstairs etc, but you can slew the camera up and down to a desired height, so you can walk through the cabin, terminal and so on. Third party developers can focus on good planes with rich system depths and Asobo could expand the possibilities of the "plattform" MSFS so that other developers can make more versatile addons for logistics, trading, touristics, things we can't even imagine yet from the standpoint of a "mere" flightsim.

      Yeah, it's a pretty neat piece of functionality isn't it Michael. I very much agree; I certainly hope that MSFS will stay true to its roots, but this sim has a tonne of potential to expand upon what we have traditionally seen in a flight simulator (the sort of things BerZerk mentions, being an example). Are you referring to the sim, or FSRealistic, Austin (sounds like the sim)? That could be an internet connectivity issue. I've had the same myself, albeit temporarily; my internet connection was fine, but the Microsoft servers were down or something. It may sound counterintuitive, but try logging off the internet and then staring the sim; that should skip straight through the "Checking for Update" screen and MSFS will load. Obviously you miss out on all of the photo imagery etc, so it's not a way you actually want to run the sim, but at least then you can confirm the issue (if indeed it is internet related).

      Haha, why not David! It's a shame that the avatars aren't visible in multiplayer (so far as I know), otherwise you could have your own virtual crowd ; )

    Can you use this to walk up the stairs and into the aircraft, ITB?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад +1

      Somewhat Mark. You can’t “walk” up stairs etc per se (that is to say that your avatar won’t do it automatically), but you can slew the camera up and down (using the mouse wheel) to any height you like, so you can walk around the aircraft, terminal etc.
      I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )

      Hmm, that’s strange AV8R. You aren’t the only person to mention having problems. . . I’m afraid I’m not really sure what the issue could be. You do have to be in the VC when activating first person mode (if I recall correctly) and perhaps it doesn’t work from custom views etc also. I’m afraid you’d probably have to head over to FSRealistic’s website / Discord etc for some firmer answers though.
      Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best!

      Your avatar won’t be able to climb stairs etc per se, but you can slew the camera up and down using the mouse wheel and effectively walk around at whichever height you like (including floor level of the cabin, terminal etc).
      I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад

      Haha, indeed Lukas. I can actually see MSFS going that way in the long run potentially. Presumably with a bit of AI trickery here and there, it wouldn't be too hard to add proper roads, railways etc and make MSFS a bit of an "everything simulator". We'll see though. . .
      Cheers, all the best! : )

    why don't you have a link to where you find these items you discuss in your videos , quite incomplete site

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад

      Hi PaE,
      Well for a few of reasons really: 1) It takes as much effort for me to add the link in, as it would for one to google the same information (simply googling the name of the product in the title, will undoubtedly lead the viewer to the relevant website(s). 2) I'm always happy to answer questions / comments if people do get stuck. 3) Often these addons are sold on multiple platforms and it's up to the viewer, not me, to choose which option is easiest / cheapest / preferable for them. 4) Some addons are sold exclusively through the Marketplace, in which case I can't link them at any rate.
      If you look at the description for this video, I actually added in a link for both the scenery and the livery. Where I do think it may be genuinely trickier for the viewer to find something relevant, I try and remember to leave a link.
      I hope that clarifies things. All the best

    IF on top of this walkaround mode there was an option to pick up a 3d avatar AND could see other player avatars in multiplayer… we would kick Metaverse’s ass

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад

      Well, "technically" the avatar option is already included alu2387, though it's very crudely implemented currently. It would be great to see other players for sure. I gather Asobo will ultimately bring first-person functionality to the sim and I expect they will introduce a system along the lines you mention, when they do so.
      From what I've heard, everything kicks Metaverse's ass XD
      Cheers, all the best!

    Is it coming to xbox?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад

      I'm not 100% sure TLC, but since FSRealistic is a separate program, running in the background, I would imagine probably not. Asobo do intend to add native 1st person support to the sim at a later date though, so the Xbox will be covered with such a feature eventually : )
      All the best!

    Great overview, thanks for doing that. Don't really see what this adds though, as I currently use a joystick with twist axis in drone mode to achieve pretty much the same functionality (thumb buttons assigned to drone height and speed as well, so one-handed operation is very easy). Can definitely do without the motion sickness-inducing head bob. Just about the only pro would be the torch.

      Cheers CD, my pleasure!
      Haha, I knew this one wouldn't be to everyone's tastes. I think both options (drone or first person) have their strengths and weaknesses: The advantages of FSRealistic (to my mind at least): Firstly, the motion effects / sound effects - it does make it feel more like "walking" (but as you say, some people just find it annoying haha). Secondly, the camera can be moved at a more reasonable speed (the drone is a bit quick by default and even when tuned right back, it still feels a bit quick when "walking" in the cabin. Thirdly, this mode maintains a constant eye height, so no having to fly the drone up and down, in order to maintain a constant 6 feet. Lastly, one can control the camera with the mouse whilst moving, so the whole things feels a bit more seamless (but then I suppose that can be done with a controller, as you mention).
      All of the above being said, I still use the drone cam myself and will continue to do so until the TAA / resolution issue is fixed. At the end of the day though, having more choice is never a bad thing : )
      My pleasure and all the best!

    Hi, It is nice to walk around. But i cannot toggle back to my cockpitview once i went for a 'walk'. Did you manage to do that. Currently in the trial. Would be nice to find a workaround for that. tia!

      Hi Michel,
      Hmmm, that’s a bit strange. So far as I can remember, it should just be a simple toggle between the walkaround / cockpit. It may be that FSRealistic has changed the functionality / keybind since I showcased the feature. . . Have you checked to see whether any other keybind options are available? Without knowing all of the details, I’m afraid it’s a bit tricky to offer up any other ideas. Getting in touch with RKaps / FSRealistic might be the best way to go.
      Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. I hope you manage to get things figured out! : )

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад +1

      Hi Matt,
      I'm afraid FSRealistic is only on the PC at the moment; it runs through an external application, which obviously wouldn't be workable on the Xbox. The good news though; Asobo have said they ultimately plan on bringing native first-person functionality into the sim, so it should be an option for everyone eventually : )
      I hope that clarifies things. All the best!

      FSRealistic is a 3rd party program and can be purchased from the FSRealistic website (I seem to recall). Unfortunately, the program is only available to PC users though.
