It's nice to have the sisters singing together. Their voices sounds really good! I was following Liv from the last band and I want to still follow her with all of you!
I met Liv in Tacoma, WA, USA at El Corazon; pretty sure I was the only one there to see Leave's Eyes (don't care for Hatebreed). Not only does Liv have a BEAUTIFUL voice, she's also the most sweetest and sincere people I've ever met! Just talking with you was a highlight of my younger years and inspired me to discover more band of your genre! Thank you Liv for giving this nerdy metalhead a hug; it's a story I tell to this day!
Very Very Very Great Stuff. The Pretty Sisters together on vocals..... A Dream since Krakevisa comes true. ....... Ladys, I think its Time for a Single
Very nice, I'm so happy to hear the ladys' voices again. Anyhow, I couldn't help but laugh at 7:57: you hear the grunting and see Carmen singing, it has a subtle Andy Rehfeldt-vibe to it :D
I'm going to give my critique on this - of course some will like it, some will hate it. I am a big fan of Liv Kristine from her days in Theater of Tragedy and Leaves Eyes. I have also been a big fan of Midnattsol, well their last 2 albums. They replaced most of their musicians from the previous albums. I was looking forward to hearing the two sisters sing together (I had often pictured how previous Midnattsol songs would sound with Liv singing them, maybe I will get that luxury live some day). I was a little disappointed in the sound of this song though. I know it is a cover so I will save my judgement until I hear an original song. I still plan on buying this CD when it comes out. I am just hoping that their originals are better than this cover.
Yeah, whats up with that? Ive been listening to some of the tracks with Liv (she is my queen!) but the music production for the tracks are crap. What gives, they are on Napalm Records yet the tracks are sounding like demos.
I own all Midnattsol albums, but this one. Been a fan of Liv Kristine since Theater of Tragedy and Leaves Eyes. I originally bought the first Midnattsol because of Carmen Elise being Liv's sister. Unlike some people I immediately liked Carmen's Vocals, and I liked the Nordic folk elements. I think Carmen and Liv sound great together, but I am disappointed that Birgit is no longer in the band, guess they can't have 3 blonde females in the same band. Also from what I've heard the production isn't up to par . Hopefully the physical product will sound better than the online. It's been a few years now since the release, but oddly enough I just found out yesterday that there was a Midnattsol album that I failed to buy . I went to a few Record stores, and never saw a copy, or I definitely would have already owned it
Lyrics is original, old swedish. ( i specially asked to swedish people, couse i don't understand swedish) In middle age there wasn't difference between dansk, swensk and norsk. Now there is 2 norwegian languages - bukmoll that close to dansk and swenska language and nunorsk that's old language that they speaks in countrylands, this is close to icelandic or fororskt (for example, see norsk band Tyr) I don't know Swensk, but my friends in Finland know and speak that))
I apologize. I have read up on the subject now and it's clear I was in error. But, having said that, the swedish text is medieval and sung with a clear norwegian accent to boot so perhaps it was not so strange that I mistook it for Norwegian. My bad.
So, maybe. But main word is "medieval' , I think, in the middle age there wasn't difference between these north languages. As i know, for example, in 13 century, Dansk was a language of international relation, as the English now. Because they (vikings) have got theyr expansion to all motherf...damned Europe, since Espania to Volga region. For example, now there is danish roots in english language and in russian language.
Interesting, I prefer garmarna's version because it feels more authentic without instruments but it's definitely a great cover. I also dig the end solo
(in MEINER Liste)
@@oskarmatyszkowicz2597 So i stumbled across this video and saw your comment, its been one year. But yes, I can confirm that I can hear their Norwegian accent when singing and me being a Swedish speaker by tongue.
@@iloveyoushima Yes, especially their "bokmål" accent, however it does happen that an accent can be too thick, but I even have trouble understanding other Swedish dialects if its too heavy, maybe not 1 on 1 conversations but like if we are in a crowded space with lots of other noise such as a restaurant.
I like this version, but there is another one which kicks ass pretty much. The version from the German Band In Extremo is also a force to be reckoned with.
Look at the liv kristine , she must sing that song , the other one is weak for herr mannelig , (and one more thing) she need sing . she's reading like a poem or book in here
I remember this cover whit Haggard... but this version has impacted me...
It's nice to have the sisters singing together. Their voices sounds really good!
I was following Liv from the last band and I want to still follow her with all of you!
Although my favourite version of this song is Haggard’s, this band did a great job.
Te second best
Exactly, you're right, fucking right !!!!!!!
I see Liv I click like.
I kunnen väl svara endast ja eller nej. Om I viljen eller ej. Snälla, gör en konsert i SVERIGE! 😍
Me alegra tanto ver a Liv de nuevo y junto a su hermana Carmen.
Muy bien hecho este cover💓
what a wonderfull cover!!!! I love to see Liv singing this beautiful song!
Love Liv since Theatre of Tragedy
It’s great to Seee LiV Again
Carmen Elise Espenæ’s voice makes feel in love with this wondrous woman.
I love the harmony between the instruments each other’s and with The singers

Wow, this version was completely unexpected! great work!
I'm pretty sure that it is in swedish, but norwegian sounds similar to swedish. I LOVE THIS SONG THANKS!!
Yes, they sing it in swedish.
Massive feelings of Darkthrone "too old, too cold" here
Yes, and Bathory " mother earth father thunder"
Beautiful, I love it, the ladies voices blend so well together, best wishes and good luck with the new CD.
damn, I'm old.
Woow...As I thought the vocals are both so warm and magical...
I love this! Definitely this album will be a beautiful masterpiece.

This is Swedish. At least the lyrics.
Liv and Carmen are Norwegians so he's right.

Hört sich gut an. Allerdings gefällt mir die Version von In Extremo besser.
I miss Daniel Droste, Christopher Merzinsky, and Birgit Öllbrunner.
