It's both true and not true... many fans just love to geek out about the guitar solo only. Just sayin. But definitely true that a good guitar solo does not make a good song... composition, lyrics, phrasing, and everything else are indespensible.
think of it. When was the last time you listened to guitar solos only in a song? That is something you only do once in a while not all the time. Most of the time you listen to the song itself and thats what he is talking about in here. the song itself is much more important than the solo. What i mean by song itself is any part of the song other than the solo. The solo is just a bonus thing. Dont get me wrong i also love the solos more than anything else and i think a good solo makes a song significantly better but it is not the most important thing in a song.
@@ozanozenir2503 Yes of course. I agree 100%. I can't stand shitty songs with meaningless shreds that say nothing. But I was just trying to express that I do sometimes ONLY listen to a great solo and not necessary the song. As a guitar player, you're very much pulled in by an amazing solo, and learn it sometimes without focusing on the song perhaps.
