That killed me. I grew up loving Georgia on the Oliver! original Broadway cast album. One of a kind. Died way too young at 58. So glad I got meet her once. R.I.P., dear Georgia.
What a performance!! Georgia Brown was a fabulous Singer and an AMAZING actress! She appeared in ONE Episode of the smash hit TV series 'Upstairs, Downstairs' nearly fifty years ago - and left her mark!
Agree. Dickens could have written the part with a geniune east end girl her in mind Fabulous singer and actress . Hugely underrated though . (Currently enjoying her mesmerising perforemance as Lola in The Roads to Freedom being shown on BBC - not previously seen since the 70s . )
@@michaelcorkery3853 I am now hoping the BBC will dig the 1974 suffragete drama Shoulder to Shoulder out of its vaults and run it again .Georgia had a major part and sang the sang the theme tune too. Do you recall it ?
You must watch her performance as Lola in the 70s series Roads to Freedom - now , amazinely, being re-shown on BBC after some 50 years or so . You will see the brilliance both of her singing and acting.
@@mjones4083 Thanks for the tip! I’ll try to find it. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to BBC, but at least now I know what to search for, so much appreciated. 🙂
She was also in another very good BBC drama around this time called Shoulder to Shoulder - about the suffragette movement .She sang the title song. There 's a cip in You Tube .it's called The Womens Song .
She was so talented and special.. And real…

Save a little praise for Jerry Herman.
