This proves Louis Pasteur phrase: "
A little science takes us away from God. Much science brings us closer". One of the best advice I received from a mentor was: "do not read the bible, study it"
. Because faith is rational, not a emotion. Brilliant teaching.

One of the best conversations I've heard on these topics and will be sharing it with others. The brilliant Madeleine L'Engle always talked about how for her, there is no disconnect between faith and science and that the universe can be simultaneously mathematical "and" divinely, lovingly created. I love Erwin's line, "God's language is creation."

can you explain to me then John 11:19 Jesus answered, " Are there not TWELVE HOURS OF DAYLIGHT?......" If we cannot account for the numbers of hours in the day. According to Genesis which says the evening and the morning was the first day and for every time he performed his creativity, he referred to it as a day, and the night was not factored in it. since he said, evening and morning was the first Day. Night, i know is not factored into that 12 hours, the day sure is. And another question, JESUS fasted for 40 days and forty night are we saying this could also be years or months? if so, what i read told me that Christ was in the form of man, meaning that although he was fully God he was also fully man, to embody a man, he was made to feel sufferings and pains like us. I'm i to believe that he fasted for years or months, what man can perform such a task today, JESUS live so we can do like him, so if the day is years or months can we then as man follow in the footstep of Christ and fast so long. Just trying to find truth, please give your feedback.

@ Talia R. I think the better question is:
if jesus is fully god saying that he was fully man really doesn't mean anything because he still ultimately has all "his" god powers ...so what then is the value/lesson to be learned from an all powerful god [with no beginning and no end] who already knew that he wouldn't die from a 40 day fast in the desert???

OK sorry for all the messages...These men were living for over 400 -900 years not like us who the bible said lifespan were shorten, and since the bible didn't specify at what point Cain killed Abel how can we discredit it? um by my reason Adam lived until he was 930 years, how many children did he had before his death, how many did he had before Cain and Abel, how many after Cain and Abel. And let us imagine for a moment Adam got Cain and Abel at the age of 16 so these were his first children, at 600 hundred years old Adam would probably be a great great grandfather, now the population would have be much more than Adam and eve and Cain and Abel. Cain could have killed Abel when he was 300 years old, we don't know. therefore, if he killed Abel at that age there would have been others who would want to kill him that's why God place the curse upon him. we know that he was after this Cain knew his wife but we don't know when Abel got his his wife or the other children had theirs.
