Looking to set up an LLC to receive my commissions as a mortgage broker. I service loans in several states, but I live in CA, and my brokerage firm is based in CA. Would it make sense to establish the LLC in an anonymity-friendly state like Wy or DE, or should I stick with CA @ $800?

Also you pay nothing on distributions that are a 1:1 return of capital. Because there is no gain.
Correct. You are only taxed on the income generated by the LLC not on distributions.
