@@rjm789The Wire, Boardwalk Empire and Banshee are my top three of all time. On a side note, WeeBay and Method Man sound a lot alike! Legendary show, best ever ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sharp Objects, Mare Of Easttown and Tokyo Vice are also very good. HBO always delivers!

The Wire and The Sopranos. HBO hit it out the park with these 2 series. I have not seen anything come close to these shows in 20 yrs.
It's only 2 seasons, but if you have the chance watch HBO's ROME.
You should try "Barry" the 3rd season just finished. It's amazingly well written, directed and it has a quality cast. You could probably binge watch the series in like 5 hours!
Don't forget about Boardwalk Empire.

Deadwood is also up there on the top 3. me personally I'd rank 1-The Wire. 2-Deadwood, 3- The sopranos.
Never expected him to choose those two characters to have played instead of cheese lol! I actually forgot about the kid who jacks the cars. The Wire is brilliant.

Method Man did a great job portraying Cheese. He was really good in this role.
Method Man was great as Cheese.. Really excellent. Kinda dislikable but deeply authentic and you could see him as a player with a flawed strategy to the "game". e.g. all about short-term gain with longer term strategy lacking. Great, great character.
His character was supposed to be dislikable and he did a great job portraying it. I loved hating Cheese.
Kinda dislikable? It's a testament to his great acting that when I think of Cheese I feel instantly irritated.

Looking at it I could actually see Method Man as Wee-Bey and Hassan Johnson as Cheese. But I’m glad it turned out the way it did.
The wire might be the only show that I've watched numerous times , find something new in each episode every time and wish I was on even as an extra.
Donut, who steals the cars, appeares also in We Own This City, as a local musician/artist. Dookie appears too as a policeman.
Did not catch that my first watch. Guess it means I have to rewatch it!

@@hisholiness4537 sopranos is my personal favorite of the hbo trinity (Oz, sopranos, the wire) but the wire was better written in the way it showed real people in Baltimore to the extent that laws are in place in Baltimore becuase of the the wire spotlighting certain issues.. Sopranos was many great things but it's not like Tony or his family was the everyguy as much as they would like to think so

Most UNDERRATED TV SERIES of all time! It's finally getting its flowers now, so to speak. But I was on it when it was running back in the day, and not alot of people was on it. Amazing writers and characters were PERFECT for ever part.
It's definitely NOT underrated. It's highly rated and on many top lists. Stop overusing underrated.

I was just talking with my son's about the Wire. That and Sopranos ushered in a new Era of television. That's when HBO showed that a non network channel could make seriously entertaining content. Free of the confines of broadcast TV they were able to mesh the best of R rated movies and TV series into some of the best shows ever made.
I remember there being lots of talk about HBO back in the early aughts. I'm in the UK so we have a different TV situation, everyone used to get 5 channels and anything else was satellite TV, just like cable in the US. We didn't grow up with these standalone channels like HBO and Encore. So when people started talking about these TV shows in reverential terms, pilot episodes that cost $10million, we started to take note. Lost was the first hyper hyped TV show I remember being excited about, it was TV-as-event, when what's on makes the evening news. Then it went off the boil a little, Lost introduced me to the concept of the mid-season break which was coincidentally where I lost interest in Lost. Just finished The Wire, now I've just started Sopranos for my first proper watch thru
for me it started with Oz. GoT had the same promise. But indeed, without it, I don't think there would be a breaking bad, a better call saul, or boardwalk empire to enjoy. Band of Brothers was epic too.

The Sopranos, The wire, GOT(Till the 6th season). These were some of the best shows ever HBO really needs to make another classic like these

GoT is a terrible show altogether, it was just lucky that it was adapted from one of the greatest fantasy book series ever (so far).
Before the final season of GOT, there was no argue about wich has been the greatest show of all time; GOT was way ahead of everyone. But at the end they crashed.

Game of Thrones actually was considered one of the best shows until after season 4 when the shitheads who ran the show ran out of book material to adapt. It's just the fact that it's been awhile since it was a good show that we all just... Oh I don't know "Kinda forgot"?

He was always my favorite in Wu-Tang. He was the one that did the best job branching out and reinventing himself.
The last names wagstaff, Barksdale,Stanfield these names sound like a bunch of English professors at hogwarts.
The origin of some first names too is french like Tyrell and Andre

My absolute favorite show of all time!! Have the whole series on dvd!!
There is a lot to like to about this clip, but the two things I like best is how Clifford developed and how down to earth he is midway through a career like that. Liked when I was 13, liked him now that I am 40. #2 his answer on the legacy of the Wire from his perspective. Like how it adds a perspective to the community, an option that people in the community typically do not perceive.
Cheese was perfectly cast. Method Man did awesome in that role.
The real goat of TV series. Sopranos, BB & Better Call Saul is also up there. But The Wire is really just modern Shakespeare. Just incredibly nuanced. The one thing I will say though, where BB has over both TW AND The Soprano’s was how it stuck the landing. TW didn’t flub the ending completely, it was just a bit rushed. The Sopranos ending was a big let down. I understand it more now that I’m older but that doesn’t change that leaving it so ambiguous like that hurt the overall series IMO but BB was a perfect bow on the entire series. Also I think Boardwalk Empire is also deserving of an honorable mention.
What a coincidence! I just finished The Wire and I have watched all those shows and am currently waiting for the latter half of season 6 of BCS. In the meantime, I am watching Boardwalk Empire.

His growth as an actor is amazing, he’s fantastic as Davis McLean in power book 2, the cross examination scene with the teacher in season 2 I believe was perfect, it’s like he was made for that role.
