As somebody who has therapy dogs and visits a nursing home. Replacing the wait staff with robots is disgusting. A lot of those people don't get visitors or company. The only interaction they have is with the staff and the few volunteers that come in. That's so gross.
I work at a hospital currently and I've been around plenty of nursing homes. The elderly are treated like out-of-date computers. Grandparents and the wisdom they might have are discarded as useless once they are unable to keep up with society. If you have any sense of empathy, it's mentally harmful to see how badly they are being treated. I know it keeps me up at night. Because what will happen when I grow old? The next generation will do the same to me, because I won't be able to understand the new concepts.
Be as disgusted as you want. There are not enough people to do these jobs. It is leaving the people who need the help the most with no one. People who require physical assistance require physical assistance more than companionship. I'm intimately familiar with this problem. The people in the care Fields know that in 15 to 20 years if we don't get some assistance with automation they're literally won't be enough people to take care of the elderly. Look at what's happening in Japan as an indicator. They are currently leading the way in this technology.
The reason there is doors in front of the elevator is for the fire. Alarm goes off. They will automatically close by turning off an electrical magnet that is hidden behind the door. The reason it does this is because you are not allowed to use elevators during a fire these are also randomly in the hallway to prevent smoke from spreading and fire from spreading.
I think its more for fire partitions, as elevator doors typically drop on any fire alarm activation. When the elevators are unsafe, they will actually recall to a designated floor or even turn off (shunt trip) if fire is detected in machine rooms, in front of the doors, or in the hoist ways. High rises will use elevators for evacuations as the stairway may not always be easily accessible. Definitely still safer to choose stairs either way imo.....

Absolutely foul
@@BuckNuttagebe as explanatory as you want, it sucks that it’s happening and it’s bad for the elderly.
“That’s progress🤓” perish.
@@BuckNuttage no, there's plenty of people to do the work. People don't want to work poverty ways.
